Things seem to be going quite well for Joe Biden

Progressives will be fine, EWA. Democratic Party chose their nominee. We aren't voting for Trump - in any significant numbers. Vast majority will vote for Biden. There are no policy debates because this is not an election about policy. It is sheer blind populism this time around. The type of populism most consider corrosive (populism runs from healthy (American Revolution) to regressive (intolerant)). We have become a society where tolerance is not championed. For some, the stakes are too high for that virtue.

Goodness still matters to progressives. And the needle on Goodness flows to the Democratic Party. In my humble opinion.

Joe apologized. Good move.

Ok I’ve got like 2 pages worth of comments  so bear with me please.

the Tara reade allegation was completely neutered already, yet “they” are still going after her for her lies. Why?  Warning to others?

joe lied a bunch 40 years ago as a senator running for president. Since that happened, he was re-elected like 4 times by the good people of delaware, selected as vice presidential candidate by the eventual winning ticket, and basically handed the next presidential election.   Those lies really ruined him, huh.

on the aint black thing:  if anyone tells me that it will cause black voters or horrified white voters to vote trump, I’ll call them a liar.  If they say it will cause those people sit at home and risk another trump victory, and that the trump team can craft a message to help with that, I’ll say I seriously doubt it.  It’s a non-issue. It’s locker room talk.

and it’s not going to happen.  That’s the funny part.  I’ll concede that this gaffe might cause Joe to lose 1% of black voters, but to think all of a sudden 30%+ will vote for trump in November is just a.) idiotic and b.) delusional.

If that happens, I’ll come back and say I was wrong.  I do not plan to have that speech/post prepared tho
But it won't. Black voters, white voters, all voters, no one is paying attention to this shit. They aren't on Twitter or other platforms reading the political news. To the small extent they are, they don't give a shit about this nonsense. They most likely agree with Biden. Any black person, or any person of any race, supporting Trump is an evil piece of shit.

yep.  anyone following politics on twitter already knows who they're voting for.

Why was Biden on Charlemagne tha God's show?

(Also, what does your voting record look like?)

He and most of the Dem candidates were on the Breakfast Klub during the primaries.  Him, Kamala, and mayor Pete are the 3 I remember on there.  They invite practically everyone, D or R, but only the Ds accept.

Everything in your post is correct.  But this is more a reflection of what the Democrat Party has turned into than Joe Biden.  It is no longer a political party.   It is a religious cult that has been brainwashed into accepting the tenets of the cult without introspection or critical thinking. (Only instead of gathering for their mass worship services at some whack job church they gather on Twitter.) If Jim Jones were alive today he would have won the Democratic primary.  This is also why the Party in general hates the Sanders wing.  They are the only faction that has not bowed their heads in worship to them.

As to the idea that selecting Harris for VP would placate the African-Americans Biden offended today.  I'm sure selecting someone with a history of aggressively prosecuting people for possession of marijuana when she was the Attorney General in California will remedy all of their concerns.

accusations, confessions, yada yada.

Sorry @bad_teammate they have had Bernie on there several times.  And AOC.  That’s not because I know you like them rather I want you to know who gets invited to their platform.  I honestly haven’t heard a R candidate on there at all, and I’ve been listening to that show for years.

Joe seems to lie a lot

Fascinating how the whole "fuck your feelings" and anti-PC police MAGAts are now clutching their pearls as to how hurtful these words are to a group of voters they couldn't care less about.

Look it was a stupid thing to say (and probably won't be his last gaffe between now and November), but once Biden nominates Kamala or Demmings as his running mate and Obama is out there on the stump for him, any misgivings African-Americans had about Biden (if there are any) will be extinguished.

Yeah, he just needs to prove that he has black friends.

Joe is a white man with tremendous power stating the requirements for blackness. I don't care what black people think about it, that is unacceptable.

Does it matter? No, of course not. Nothing matters. (Including our votes here on this website, which are 100% immaterial and represent a gnat's fart in a hurricane.)

Joe is a liar and probably a rapist (at BEST a tremendous creep) with horrific politics and mental decline and it doesn't matter. Liberals are out here saying they would vote for him even if "he boiled babies and ate them". It doesn't matter. Joe could go out there and say, "If a black doesn't vote for me, he's a worthless n*****." and it wouldn't matter. His black vote share would drop, as mentioned above, from 95% to 94% and the Internet would be flooded with thinkpieces about how this is Good, Actually because it is allowing a "broader conversation".

Is that because what Joe said/did/is is actually OK? No, it's because white patriarchy has created two prison cells for them to choose from. Or, to steal from parlance of Owens/West, two plantations for them to work on.

Owens and West are correct to point that out. Their prescription, which is to move to the more abusive plantation, is idiotic, but their observation about the reality of the situation is valid. An observation of reality that modern liberals either cannot see or refuse to acknowledge.

Pundit-brain in full manic episode.

Your weekly or so reminder since the primaries started that b_t knows what's good for black people more than they do, and if they don't think like he does, they're stupid.

No one is saying this. This isn't an argument anyone is making.

No he didn’t. Stop.

did you watch the entire interview or just listen to that one line? Do you d do listen to the breakfast klub and wack ass charlamagne regularly or no?

Yes, he did. I watched the entire painful interview and I've listened to the show about 10 times.

There's a lot we can say to add context or whatever, but Joe said what he said. Let's not become Blue MAGA and deny the reality of our candidate's words.

Y'all obviously have not been enlightened by the brilliance of mr bad teammate.

Tara Reade is the end all be all factor in this race.

The fact that Tara Reade was raped by Joe Biden has 0 impact on my vote. My vote hinges 100% on whether or not he will sign M4A if it passes. He has said multiple times now he will not (which I honestly never ever expected him to say out loud), so he will not get my vote. If he takes that back, I will vote for him.

I voted for rapist Bill Clinton twice and I'll vote for rapist Joe in 2020.

I don't care that he raped Reade. I don't care that he's a decades-long white patriarchal power figure. I just want 100% of Americans to have healthcare.

I will vote.  But not for either of them.  Maybe if more did what I plan to do then we wouldn't get stuck with the shit we have now.  So go vote for your shit sandwich and lets just keep on trucking.

And I am not angry.  I am just tired of the fucking boomers.  Trump is a prime example.  Watch the news all day and instead of yelling at the clouds he yells on twitter.

What are you doing down ballot?

Voting is going to be tricky in November. We need mail-in balloting, because sending older Americans to polling booths will be more difficult and subject to all sorts of skullfuckery by politicos and their minions. If they win on that issue, our voters need to be ready to vote in November in all sorts of conditions and settings.

Votes still matter.

I’m waiting for the next version of the story where Joe finger-banged two unwilling cocktail waitresses on a casino floor in full view of the public while hitting 21 on blackjack table after splitting aces with his cock.

The left is absolutely, without question better than the GOP...that doesn't mean they have to be perfect.  This isn't a zero sum game.

A blanket statement that also happens to be true.

So out of millions of trump voters, there aren’t a few that are smart but vote for him anyway because of one issue or another?

just like there are black trump voters, there are smart trump voters. Just not very many.

this isn’t really the thread for trump voters, so I should leave it there unless someone asks me a question directly. I just found Wanda’s tweet strangely worded.

How about this explanation? It made the community the most influential part of the party.  Joe wasn't shit until SC and being endorsed by the right black Congressman. Then the whole party had to support Joe, even though he was 4th on 5th on everyone else's list. Because the older black folks trusted him and got behind him, we had to shift.
