Cazy Joe Devola...... errrr Biden.....  He's old, and hasn't got a unique idea in his head.  What makes him think he can lead America in the 21st c.?  Elder statesmen aren't what's needed today, and I like crazy Joe.

Yep. He's putting to bed very early the idea that he is learning anything or taking any of it seriously. His strategy is going to be Trump's strategy of non-apology and non-compliance, which will be very effective with old people.

"BERNIE WAGGED HIS FINGER AT HILLARY AND SAID IT WAS HIS TURN TO TALK DURING THE DEBATE! THAT'S SHUSHING WOMEN AND IT'S VIOLENCE!" - Dems 2016

"Rape and consent jokes about physical interactions with children are hilarious." - Dems 2020

(It's almost like their actual loyalty is to economically moderate principles and issues of identity and social justice were just temporary tools they tried to use to win.)

i get that you're viewing this thru your bernie-tinted glasses, but biden is getting destroyed by most everyone on cnn and similar outlets.  especially women (obviously).

they can't believe how out of touch and delusional he's being about the whole thing by not actually apologizing.

Media outlets? Who cares? Listen to the audience. They love it.

This was the same bullshit with Trump. The media all breathlessly talked about how awful a monster he was, and women were OUTRAGED by his sexual assaults and crudeness and creepiness. Everyone media outlet endorsed Hillary.

All the while, however, the crowds constantly went apeshit for him. And women voted for him right in line when the time came (52% of white women voted for Trump).

The same will happen for Biden among centrist and conservative Democrats. OId and white Democratic women will not run away from Biden over this.

Stop watching cable networks. Watch the speeches and look at polls.

It's fucking astounding that this is causing a collective Dem aneurysm while the Rs are gleefully supporting a sexual assaulting conman on their side.

When being woke goes wrong...and this is why Trump gets a 2nd term. The GOP voters made peace with Trump being a piece of shit because he was the ends that justify the means. He gave them what they wanted (SC justices). And because the Dems are going to fuck it up a 2nd time, he’s going to be able to add more. All because it’s fun to character assassinate every candidate that comes up with this meaningless bullshit. At some point being so woke was going to make every candidate have something in their past that nullifies their chances to be the  nominee. The GOP doesn’t have this problem.

If there is one guy who is too busy smelling his own fart to have any skeletons in the closet it's Bernie. Now his campaign staffers may be a different story, though.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., apologized on Thursday to women who were "harassed or mistreated" while working on his 2016 presidential campaign, after a series of sexual harassment allegations against top male campaign staffers.

"What they experienced was absolutely unacceptable and certainly not what a progressive campaign, or any campaign, should be about," he said in a statement posted to Twitter.

lol what are you so mad about?

Do you think it's OK to smell strange women's and little girls' hair and caress their faces as a man with tremendous power over them and their families and this criticism is pissing you off because it's making you realize what a skeezy creep you are?

No one is calling him a rapist. No one is even saying he's guilty of sexual assault. He's an oblivious man with power who uses women's and children's bodies for his own pleasure and enjoyment all while giving zero shits (either in the moment or on reflection) of the effect that has on the women and children involved.

It sounds creepy because it is creepy.

We have plenty of good choices and there's no need to tolerate, justify, or hand-wave it away.

It’s all going to be fun for you, bad, until Bernie is the next guy to get his shit pushed in by the Woke Police.

What do you think has been happening for the last 4 years? Do you think the Dems haven't been trying every knife possible to kill Bernie?

Bernie has never fucked. He doesn't know what vaginas are. Jane tried to seduce him once but he just got pissed off, left the room, and wrote a poem about Eugene Debs.

He's not going to let some dame steal his essence.

He needs all of that power to enact socialism and fight the menace of glass shower doors.

Fuck public, aimed-at-the-whole-world apologizing. Apologize to the people you hurt directly. I hate public apologies.

Joe needs to call Anita Hill and every single person in those videos/pics. Ask them about their feelings regarding the experience, listen sincerely and without defense, and apologize if necessary.

Then he can go into public, say he talked to everyone and listened to them and offered apologies to those who wanted or needed them. Then, he can essentially recount their experiences and perspectives to demonstrate what he's learned and then make a promise to not engage in the same things in the future. Then, as the Lord said to the woman taken in adultery, go and sin no more.

That's learning and growth. Libs LOVE that shit. What can make a self-righteous person feel more powerful than being given the opportunity to bestow the blessing of a forgiveness?

White Liberal Establishment: "I forgive you, Joe, because you have Learned and Grown."
Biden: "Yes, yes I have." *continues strangling minorities, the poor, and the environment*

Or... just double down. It's the Trump strategy and, unfortunately, it works really well.

Gee, I’m sorry I have a problem with a creepy old fuck who can’t be bothered to even fake an acknowledgement that his past behavior was unacceptable.

No, he didn’t rape anyone - that we know of - but he was gropey and handsy and wildly inappropriate. And because he was always the most powerful man in any given room, none of the women in his orbit felt comfortable enough to speak up.

Because, well, in your words, it was just meaningless bullshit.

But if you’ve been listening to women lately, we’ve been screaming that, no in fact it’s most certainly not meaningless bullshit. It’s demeaning and makes us feel undermined at work and makes us feel unsafe and a whole host of other issues no human should have to deal with in a professional setting.

If Joe Biden did those things to a man at work, at some point he would have been told to knock it the fuck off or been decked. Because men are not expected to accept their personal boundaries to be violated at work no matter what power differential.

And now women are finally speaking up and saying “This shit is not okay. We understand that many of you are not predators in the criminal sense. We understand you didn’t mean to demean us or make us feel unsafe. We understand you thought you were just showing affection. But you were wrong. Please stop doing these things. Please understand how you would feel. Please change your behavior.”

Most decent men are responding with apologies and understanding and changing their behavior.

The fact that Joe Biden is standing on a stage emphatically NOT apologizing, stating he won’t change, making jokes about asking for consent from children and men like women are just being silly little things, tells me Joe Fucking Biden doesn’t understand anything about why women are angry and in fact thinks they’re “being hysterical women”.

It tells me he sees nothing wrong at all with his past behavior.

It tells me this is in fact not meaningless bullshit as you so eloquently mansplained.

Warren’s DNA test? Meaningless bullshit.

Pete Buttigieg criticism of “I’m With Her”? Meaningless bullshit.

Beto O’Rourke being a teenage hacker and writing weird fiction stories? Meaningless bullshit.

Kamala Harris going shopping for a sequin jacket? Meaningless bullshit.

Amy Klobuchar using a comb for a fork? Meaningless bullshit.

Joe Biden having a history of creeping on women and when confronted with it refusing to accept that behavior as wrong and saying shit like this?

"I am sorry I didn't understand more," Biden responded. "I am not sorry for any of my intentions. I am not sorry for anything that I have ever done -- I've never been disrespectful, intentionally, to a man or a woman. That's not the reputation I've had since I was in high school, for God's sake."

And I will agree with a lot of what you wrote. What I tire of is this idea you have to apologize to everyone. Should his behavior permanently change, hell yes. Should he apologize directly to the women he made feel uncomfortable, hell yes. Should this nullify his prospects of being the nominee, no. Was his joking about it the other day patently offensive and out of touch, hell yes. But I am tired of these public wokeness trials being put out whenever someone comes up. This stuff is not as important for the future of this country than finding the one candidate who can beat Trump in 2020. If he gets a 2nd term, you can kiss a lot of progressive policies a permanent goodbye. I'm more interested in the Democrats finding the best candidate who can reach the voters that they lost in 2016 that ensured a Trump victory. I'm angry because I'd rather time be spent on discussing why Trump is bad for America and why the Democratic nominee would be better than Trump and what they'll bring to the table because if it comes down to just the economy with most voters, he's getting a 2nd term.

Well, that's a convenient statistic that doesn't tell the whole truth.  Uneducated white women voted for Trump (62/34).  Educated white women voted Clinton (51/45).  Not lost in these numbers is the fact that a shit-ton of women HATE Hillary Clinton.  What also shouldn't be lost is that uneducated women tend to be stupid, just as their uneducated male counterparts, but because of their upbringing, those women also tend to subjugate themselves to their husbands and other male leaders who tell them what to do.

We have a long way to go, but I don't think many educated white women actually support Trump.  They're actually the leaders in the clubhouse when it comes to going against the conservative grain.  Now, if you want to root around for some troglodytes, seek out white men -- they supported Trump regardless of education.  THERE'S some real stupid for you, and it crosses the diploma line.  I guess education in the south and rural America just ain't that good, even in collidge.

The Biden 2020 run is going to be one of the greatest political reversal of fortunes in history.

He’s was a beloved elder statesmen with a good legacy (because everyone had largely overlooked/forgotten/forgiven his past transgressions) who was looked up to and remembered fondly.

He’s going to turn into a supposed front runner who flames out of a race with stories of sexual creepery, retrospectives on his shitty senate votes, viral video compilations of gaffes and tone deaf statements, and GIFs of him sniffing ladies hair.

Don’t do it Joe! Save yourself! You still have a chance to be the Secretary of State or Ambassador to the UN if the Democratic nominee wins.

If you run all you’ll have to look forward to is hanging out with Mike Dukakis and roaming the woods with Hillary.

Agree with all of this except for one thing: He should run. We need him to run.

Too many on the left live in a fantasyland that think establishment Democrats are what we need moving forward. I want the dirty laundry aired. I want people to see what 45 years in DC looks like and all the stupid shit he's done/said. Stop looking for a band-aid or a beacon to past Democratic "success" and focus on candidates that will properly lead us in the future.  Yes, the GOP has gone off the rails. Now time to admit that establishment Ds have failed us a well.  Run, Joe, run.

while all of this is true, i think unfortunately a lot of dems are scared to death of "change" and worry that a new "fresh face" (kamala, beto, pete, even bernie) won't be able to beat trump.

if given the option of a shitty candidate with baggage and warts to spare - who wins the election - they will gladly take that over potential uncertainty.

this isn't going to be an election about ideas, i fear.  it's going to be about "our side better fucking win".  if biden was running in 1988, he would get run out of town on a rail.  trump changed the game.

If what you say is correct (and it's very possible), then this country is fucked for decades.  Biden needs to announce, let the Democratic bloodbath begin, and hopefully the result is a hardened, prepared, progressive candidate that will defeat Trump.

If Biden wins, so be it. At least we'll know that that both parties are damaged beyond repair.

As a liberal, your default position is sanctimonious and condescending towards others especially POC. You talk a good game, but your politics and actions betray your true motives.

Liberals are just as much POS as any racist Trump supporter, they are just too chicken shit to own it.

Know what the difference is between a liberal and a racist redneck? The liberal will call the cops, so they can call me a nigger and shoot me. IOW let the cops do their dirty work. Then of course, you’ll tweet protests from your gated/walled off communities.

I'm not advocating for Biden as the D candidate -- I've been abundantly clear on that.  I won't vote for him in the primary.  Not gonna happen.  If he WINS the primary?  Yep, I'm voting for him.

The problem is that the Dems consistently destroy every single damn candidate for relatively minor transgressions, and it's happening again.  There IS no "great leader" in the Dem party because BY DEFINITION THE DEMS WILL FIND SOME REASON TO TAINT EVERY ONE OF THEM.

Biden is a shitty candidate with tons of baggage. Yes, the current candidates are getting nit-picked, but Biden's transgressions aren't minor. The fact we can't all agree that he belongs in the past is a bit concerning.

Bullshit. What was the minor transgression that derailed Obama? Warren? Beto? Harris? Booker? Buttigieg?

Im sorry but that is just bullshit. There are people that don’t have the issues that Biden has. Not everyone has the kind of skeletons that will derail their campaign. Well, I'll say it again.  I don't support Joe Biden.  I don't think his transgressions are "minor".  I think he should just drop out and toddle off and die.

That said, "anyone but Trump" is absolutely the best strategy going forward, but the Dems will fuck this up.  Need I remind you that RBG and who knows how many other SCOTUS justices are going to be lucky to last until 1/21/2021?

Yes, it's ANYBODY but Trump.  That's the baseline.  Beto, Harris, Amy, EdgeEdge, even Bernie, I don't care.  If the Dems destroy every candidate -- and they are lining up to do it -- then Trump will get reelected.  That's what will happen.  And at that point, it will all be over.
