Wallet Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Looking for leather wallet recommendations.  I'd like it to have room for DL and CHL.  In addition to the 2 IDs, I normally carry 4 or 5 cards, a couple insurance cards, and some cash. No photos.

RFID would be nice.  I don't really like tri-fold, but willing to take a look.

been using this for last few years. Didn't know if I would like it, coming from a very large wallet. Will buy actual gator when this one wears out. Been a great wallet so far.

Doesn't meet your RFID needs, but I'm a huge fan of Mitchell Leather, their money clip wallet is thinner than just about any other and is so easy to use. I've given a bunch as gifts and gotten only positive feedback.

Unless you are hitting up new docs frequently, drop the insurance cards from the wallet.   And many ins cards offer electronic versions.     Another option is to scan the cards and email them to yourself.  You can always forward it to a doctors office or even hospital Er.

i know it’s only saving a millimeter in your wallet but it’s more of just getting rid of one thing that’s always in the way.

I’ve never loved a wallet as much as this one:

It doesn’t look as good as leather, but for and keeping things thin and minimalist it can’t be beat.  I typically only carry three cards, DL, CC, debit card. Everything else  is in traditional leather wallet that I keep in my truck. But I’ve carried as much as 7 or 8 in this just to test it out and even going from a lot of cards back down to a few it doesn’t stay stretched out or loose. It’s so much thinner than leather, it holds the cards tight enough, and is unnoticeable in my pocket.  But if you want something classy looking this won’t be it.

I have a Dockers brand leather bi-fold wallet that has lasted for years and is still in great shape. I bought it at JC Penney. My previous wallet, given to me as a gift for being an usher at my sister's wedding, had fallen apart and I needed a replacement. I didn't have a lot of time to search and this one wasn't particularly expensive. It would do for now and I could look for a better one later.

It's held up a lot longer than its predecessor. It's still in great shape. I would totally buy another one if this one ever wears out which it shows no sign of doing anytime soon.

I have a bellroy brand wallet. I’ve had it for several years, it’s held up very well, and it holds everything that was in my old leather wallet with about half the thickness.

What’s the advantage of the front wallet for you folks who are advocates of the style?
I’ve never considered one before and was a bit surprised at all the love for them.

So you’re not sitting on your wallet. Also slimmer, not as bulky in your pocket.
