Kara Eastman is the NE-2 candidate who is M4A.

She ran two years ago, barely beating the former moderate Democratic Congressman, Brad Ashford in the primary.  Brad was elected in 2014, when the Republicans were split with a third party candidate, but lost to retired Air Force General Don Bacon in 2016.  Eastman lost to Bacon in the 2018 general by less than 2%.  It was her first run at anything bigger than the community college board, and the national party had not given her much support after she beat the moderate.

This time around, NE-2 is looking like one of the main spots to pick up a blue seat, and Eastman is getting recognition/endorsements/money from a lot of people - Justice Democrats, AOC's PAC, Elizabeth Warren and her PAC.  A couple of days ago the Hulk endorsed her.  She won yesterday's primary over Ann Ashford (Brad's wife) by 30 points.  It was dominating, reflective of the organization Kara built in the last two years and the resources lining up behind her.  Internal Dem polls have her by a point for the general.  This is definitely a winnable race.  If she wins, she will be the most progressive politician to be elected to a federal seat in Nebraska.  The conventional wisdom - which I believed two years ago - was that you had to be Republican-lite to win as a Democrat in Nebraska.  The conventional wisdom is outdated.

It will be.

except turnout will be much higher and more democrat in the fall.

That's a weird district.  A whole lot of desert and then a little bit that dips into LA.  I assume that's where the blue would come from.

Republican Radio is acting like the Cali house win is the greatest political victory ever. I hope they’re wrong.

fyi - only Democrats chest with mail in ballots.

They’re just losers looking for something to get excited about.

katie Hill is the one who messed up here. This seat shouldn’t have even been open in the first place.

trump is so unbelievably toxic in California, he will keep the vast majority of seats in California blue.

Beware the mic

Rep. Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.) drew criticism Tuesday after he repeatedly asked to speak at a Bronx news conference on protests over the killing of George Floyd, then said near a live microphone, “If I didn’t have a primary, I wouldn’t care.”

Good news out of New Mexico.

tea party / right wing enthusiast Yvette Harrell wins the New Mexico- 02 republican primary. She should give small an easier opponent in the fall.

the national GOP wanted an oil executive named Claire chase. Oil is very big in this district so she probably would’ve  been a tougher opponent for small.

I saw that on DK elections a few minutes ago. Is this an open seat?

And in the crazy candidate file

No it’s a rural seat in New Mexico. Democrats have had trouble winning it in the past.

they flipped it in 2018 and it might be a tough hold in 2020.

The incumbent Trumpublican just lost in VA05 after he presided over a same-sex wedding.  So that may end up being a very interesting race.

And he was the much better candidate, Bigfoot porn and all..... That could be an upset in the making although the West side of VA is typically hillbilly central.

i doubt he will be as conservative/ crazy as meadows or his replacement given his age.
