Jamal Bowman seems like a fucking stud. How competitive will the race with Moe Davis and the fanatical child end you looking? Davis’s resume seems pretty damn impressive, and likely to be attractive to moderate right members. Or is the district just a non starter red?

24?  I guess turning 25.

We now have a competitive race where there should be none.....

Cawthorn is ALL over the twitterverse today. Lots of tweets gushing over his looks, his pics with guns, there was some arguing going on with some LBGQT tweeters calling out other tweeters for talking about his looks but not acknowledging that he would take away their rights. I'm glad that young people are getting more involved, in politics but I hope they realize from Texas' example: One can be an asshole regardless of the ability to walk. Ignore the parts that are inconsequential to the job and focus on what matters. The GOP is pushing a narrative of superficiality to the masses and in the social media click climate it gets traction.

NC-11 looks to be a 60/40 district. With a 24 year old on the ballot, who knows. Guy became paralyzed at 17 after his friend fell asleep driving coming back from a spring break trip and was doing motivational speaking. Motivational speaking at 24 seems a little off to me, but I won’t knock it.

What a pathetically shallow and superficial society we live in.

Five term Republican Congressman just lost to a QAnon nutjob in Western Colorado. Trump actually endorsed Tipton (the loser).  Analysts are saying the Dem candidate has a decent chance now at winning a typically red district.

More proof that the GOP has gone completely off the rails.

She’s very hot tho. Can anyone show a pic?

the chick is also pretty weird too. She’s the owner of some restaurant where all of the staff open carries guns. I’d never set foot in a place that crazy.

Part of me thinks that it’s good if the gop elects a QAnon sympathizer to Congress but she might hot enough and crazy enough to frequently find herself on the cable news shows. As much as it would be intriguing to see the outcome, we don’t need to mainstream those ideas on tv. That movement should be ridiculed on tv not given a seat.

Ladies and gents we finally have a significant update on the house races.

http://centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/articles/the-house-democratic-murmurings-in-the-texas-suburbs-and-elsewhere/

a very good update for the dems.

11 ratings changes and 10 of them favored the Democrats.

the article also mentions Texas a lot.

House majority is very secure right now.

It’s hard to believe there is any path to House victory for the GOP with trump on the ticket. Even if Biden has some scandal or replaced with an unpopular candidate, I don’t believe that would be enough to swing the House red.

at this point with 4 months to go, the GOPs best result is trump winning and a 50-50 senate tie.

Roger Williams, her opponent, is worth $25M+.

A Roger Williams quote: "A socialist wants you to get a check from the government... a capitalist wants you to get a check from the place that you work."

Also Roger Williams: Took PPP loans for his dealerships and then voted against PPP loan recipients and amounts to be public

She lost by 7% two years ago, but hope she can make it interesting this time around.  Also, this district is a gerrymandered disaster.

She's pretty, but I wouldn't eat there either. On the off chance that some diner decides to grab his/her weapon after eating the chili cheese fries and the ensuing fracas when it slips through his/her fingers. I wonder if the bus persons and kitchen staff are allowed to be armed as well.

I realize you mentioned all the staff, but I only saw the waitstaff in their promotion.

I am in her district and voted for her last time against Williams, to no avail. I’m about to throw some money at her because TX-25 is a fucking ridiculous gerrymandered piece of shit and Williams is a worthless rep.

Set up a monthly donation today.

NE-2 moves from lean R to Toss-up.  Kara Eastman doing good work. She raised 715k last quarter, which was around 200k more than Bacon.  Of that, 288k were in small dollar donations (<$200 each), and, of course, $0 in corporate PAC donations.  Bacon had 59k in small dollar donations. Bacon still has over a million in cash on hand, and will start having a PAC run TV ads for him starting next week.  The next 108 days are going to be a battle.

Rachel Bitecofer is doing a live stream with the Texas Democratic Party on Sunday I believe. They’re asking for a donation of 35 dollars (35 dollars for postage will be sent to 15 or so individuals to send voter registrations). If you’re interested, post here or PM

Cheney is being very calculated with her stance against Trump. Not that she's really against him all that much, especially historically with same party Congress members not worrying about standing up to their own President.

However its not exactly a stretch to say that Trump and the GOP could suffer historic losses in 3+ months. But anything could happen in November. It would seem extremely unlikely that the House reverts back though.

IF the GOP loses the WH and Senate, the question would be how they react to it. Are they going to double down on Trumpism given that the remaining GOP House members aren't moderates but very far right, or would they re-evaluate their visions and communications? If they do the latter, then Cheney would be a natural to be the minority leader. She would be on record as rejecting past ideals and can help turn around previous failures.

I think (with very little confidence) that a loss regardless of size will be treated as attributable to trump's personal distastefulness, pointing to things like cornyn et al all running 10 points ahead of trump.  that allows for trumpism to continue in a marginally less gruesome brand, like tom cotton.

I agree that is likely but I see a chance of a different response. I think much depends on whether Ronna McDaniel, McCarthy and Jordan remain at the top or they take some hits. I figure McDaniel can't survive if the GOP loses all 3 (Senate, House and WH) on her watch. Not exactly a winning record.
