Dallas Laine would have been better, since Huston and Houston don't quite match up.

Although Steve Jail and Galveston Boulevard are my two new alter-egos.

To borrow from the recruit threads in the recruiting forum:

When they announced the Tulo hire I was all:

THEN,  then we got the news that Huston was coming back to the Forty to help the team as a student assistant:

After the last half of last season we all needed this.  Hopefully Quintanilla gets his mojo back with a little help/mentoring from Street.

Have to temper expectations sans Bryson Smith.

Not a good eval by the staff.  Recruited from juco (WKU) for infield depth,  had to sit out 2018 due to transfer rules.   Apparently did not have talent for much playing time in 2019.

His athletic career lost 2 years.   Hopefully,  he will find a spot with a Cali team,  his home.     Best of luck to him.

One of Gus' first recruits - key in getting things started.

LUBBOCK, Texas – Former Texas Baseball standout Dave Chalk will be inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in November in Baton Rouge, La., the hall announced Thursday.

This year's class will be inducted as a part of the College Baseball Night of Champions celebration Nov. 1-2 in Baton Rouge, La.

Chalk was a three-time All-American and four-time All-Southwest Conference performer at Texas from 1969-72. Chalk posted a career batting average of .362, a school record at the time, and hit a career-best .405 in 1971. He led the Longhorns to four Southwest Conference championships and three College World Series appearances, being named to the All-CWS team in 1972.

Following his stellar career at Texas, Chalk spent nine years in Major League Baseball with the California Angels, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals.  Chalk was a two-time All-Star and played in the 1980 World Series with the Royals.

Chalk was inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor in 1983 and the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.
