Silver Linings Playbook is not a great movie. Granted, I will never forget being introduced to Jennifer Lawrence's boobs in that film, still doesn't make it great. Pretty run of the mill romcom to me.

Know how I know you’re not crazy?
I think that if you’re a little touched in the head, or very close to someone who is, the movie makes a lot more sense. I thought it was great.

She was trapped. Her only chance was trying to talk her way out. If she screamed or tried to run he would have killed her immediately. Unfortunately she was already dead and didn't know it.

not necessarily true. she had a 50/50 chance of him letting her live.

Schlock? The English Patient?

Boooo! Booo this man! (although, the novel upon which the film is based is better).

Carry on.

I look at every post that names like 10-15  movies and realize I've seen only 2 or 3 of them.  You guys just like movies a lot more than me.  But Jojo Rabbit is a great fucking movie.

That’s probably because a lot of us have nothing to do while you are busy flying planes and being filthy rich.

1994 was fucking epic.

i didn't even mention four weddings and a funeral in my 90's rant.  nobody's fool is a top 25 for me.  quiz show is top 10.

I mean think about that best picture list, FWAAF, Quiz Show, Gump, Pulp, and Shawshank. That’s incredible. That doesn’t even include all the other 94 movies. Leon, Lion King, Interview with a Vampire, all three Jim Carey movies. It’s insane how many great movies came out that year.

Edit: Fucking D2 in 94 also which is the greatest hockey movie ever made. Fight me.

Followed by another decent year. Braveheart, Apollo 13, Leaving Las Vegas, Toy Story, The Usual Suspects, Get Shorty, Casino, Heat, Se7en, Sense and Sensibility, 12 Monkeys, The Basketball Diaries

It’s terrible, and you know it. It can still be an entertaining terrible, like Con Air or Face/Off from around that same era.  But they’re all bad.

I'm not sure how I'd try and rate it objectively. I have a soft spot for it - but I'd never admit it's a terrible movie. I think it's much more redeemable than Con Air and gets too much hate.

Jojo Rabbit.

Thread.

This is what I would’ve put too. Man that is such an amazing movie to watch. I saw it several times in the theatre before the pandemic started and would say that it is my all-time favorite movie. I was lucky enough to get a front row seat to see it and then have Taika Waititi come and do a Q&A afterwards with us for 30 minutes. Had no idea he would be the one to do it, but Taika was pretty cool to listen to and funny as well.

Hated Fury Road.  The practical effects were amazing, but the storyline sucked donkey nuts.

I don’t know if it was that bad, but I certainly don’t understand all the love it gets.

Agree 100% with all of the JoJo Rabbit nods. Most people I’ve talked to dismiss it when they hear the premise and wont watch it, but they are missing out big time.
