Pulling data off a damaged phone

Recommended Posts

Wife’s Samsung phone took a pavement dive. Repairing screen and LCD for 2-year old phone looks like more than the phone is worth. She didn’t have the data backed up... any simple way for me to get the picture and videos from the vacation we were on when it happened? I’d hate to have to repair the phone just to get the files.

Plug that bitch to computer on usb

Yea if you can't connect automatically through a USB then you are screwed.  I'm sure there are data recovery services that can tap into the onboard storage but who knows how much that costs.  Always store pictures and video on a microsd.  And have automatic backup with Google photos or something.

I’m not sure how it is in Android world but you can often plug a keyboard into the phone and input your passcode that way. I actually used a Lightning to Bluetooth adapter to use a BT keyboard to enter my wife’s passcode and recover her photos.
