There were some cryptic things about Quay that were not reported candidly. He's an incredible athlete and prospect, but his talents are not likely to be realized. Good luck to him, but it's for the best he isn't at Texas

Now were getting somewhere. There have to be details as to why he went from Texas to USC to f’n Kansas. I don’t buy that his entire reason for leaving Texas was that he finally met Mehringer. Did USC rescind their offer? Inquiring minds and shit.

If he lacks guidance and needs a father figure, then maybe he’s worth another look being the #17 recruit in Texas (and from Dallas, where we want a greater presence).

As CTJ said, highly rated guys with these kinds of cryptic recruitments pretty much always flame out. It's just not worth the scholarship slot.

Think Christian Wallace (flamed out at Oregon State), Justin Watkins (yikes), Corione Harris (legal issues).

Best case is Jordan Elliot, and he still transferred out before he got good.

we've thrown away schollies for way way way way shittier upside players. take a gamble, if he doesn't pay out, nicely or not so nicely point his ass to the portal.

Dude, fucking Kansas is the only P5 school willing to take a flyer on this kid. Be smarter.

The Bijan treatment I see.

Sort of. He had over half his yards on the season against Kansas and LaTech. And then 80 something more against Baylor. Obviously Bijan tore up K St and Colorado but had a few other solid outings against some better Ds.

Frogs split 220 carries between four backs this past season with Barlow getting the most carries.  Why Zach didn't get more carries sooner is something most of us won't know, but it wasn't because he was a true freshman.  Miller got more carries earlier and he was a lightly regarded recruit.

The explanations for Evans were either he was out for Covid reasons or he was adjusting to the pace that TCU practices.  Both could be right, both could be total bull shit, and I think we will see this year if Evans has bought in a bit or if he is going to implode.  Frogs return those 4 backs and Foster who was injured and missed the last half of the season.  They don't have to have Evans, but he can be special.

he has size, speed, and ability. everyone deserves a second chance. you’d have to be stupid to not kick the tires on this kid.

It’s 2021.  There are no second chances.  That goes for everyone at all times and all timelines.   I’m looking at you Ben Franklin.
