I think she's the president we deserve, but not the one we will get.  I think she's honestly too smart for the majority of voters.  They like Bernie because he has the same broad ideas, but doesn't have any of the details that people get bogged down on.  It's sad.

She's been my first choice since before she or anyone else announced, but it's hard to ignore her huge slide the past couple of months.

I love Bernie too and voted for him in the 2016 primaries, he's my #2 with everyone else pretty far behind, but Warren just seems so far and away the most equipped to take on corruption and money in our government.  I feel like if you solve that or even make good progress, a lot of other things Democrats and progressives want will be much more achievable down the line.

PLAN NUMBER 70 SOMETHING:

CONTINUED

Anyone who seeks to challenge and defeat Donald Trump must be prepared to take on the full array of disinformation that foreign actors and people in and around his campaign will use to divide Democrats, suppress Democratic votes, and erode the standing of the Democratic nominee.

So today, I’m making a pledge: I will not knowingly use or spread disinformation to benefit my own candidacy or damage others. And I will fight disinformation aimed at my campaign, my opponents, and voters.

I’m sending a clear message to anyone associated with the Warren campaign: I will not tolerate the use of false information or false accounts to attack my opponents, promote my campaign, or undermine our elections. And I urge my fellow candidates to do the same.

I'm also calling on tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google to take real steps right now to fight disinformation spread on their platforms. The safety of our democracy is more important than shareholder dividends and CEO salaries.

Campaigns and tech companies can take a number of steps to slow the spread of misinformation right now. And as president, I'll take a series of actions to further address the spread of disinformation.

The stakes of this election are too high. We need to fight the spread of false information that disempowers voters and undermines democracy. I’ll do my part—and I’m calling on my fellow candidates and big tech companies to do their part, too.

Looks like her campaign is nearing the Beto like death throes. Put anything out there and hope it sticks.

With the way she’s been crucified over the last several months, since she eclipsed Biden, her fortitude has been remarkable.  I’m surprised she isn’t dead yet.  People tend to forget she was starting at sub 6% in the polls and slowly climbed to front runner over the next eight months.  She’s still very much in this and you’d be foolish to let polls alone influence your support.  Vote for who you like regardless but know we’re likely not going to get another opportunity at electing a president Elizabeth Warren.

No candidate has left it all out on the field like Warren over the past year.  All the plans plus, 100,000 photos with supporters, campaigning against Facebook, busting Trump’s balls on impeachment, damn near winning every debate, and she’s a full time senator on top of it.

I told my brother she’s the hardest worker with the most hustle and he said “that’s exactly while she will lose.  People don’t appreciate shit anymore.” Lol

Look brah, I’d rather highlight the good in people than be a fatalistic cynic like most of the degenerates here.  I suffer from optimism bias. If Warren doesn’t win it won’t be the end of the world. It’s what she represents that’s missing from our society these days I appreciate most.  And there are no heroes or villains in this dystopian nightmare.  Just people with good and bad qualities.  Y’all just like to tear the best we have to offer down because I don’t know why.  “God forbid someone believe in a cause greater than themselves.  Make sure to mock the fuck out of those imbecile.“ -Surly MO.

Hugo we're responding to you as we witness your meltdown in real time for the same reason people are responding to NowThis on the Kobe thread.

It's a trainwreck in real time. You should take a break for a few weeks. Seriously. You're too close and you don't realize how you're representing yourself outwardly lately. It's... not good.

Warren gets all the boring endorsements like scientists, writers, and legal scholars.  Bernie gets the cultural giants like Joe Rogan, Michael Moore, and Susan Sarandon.  It’s weird.

Bernie is going to kill everyone who wears glasses.

The Republican Case for Elizabeth Warren

She has independence and integrity and is no socialist. She just wants the market to work for everyone.

I’m paywalled on WSJ so I could only get this much:

A cardinal rule of politics is don’t let your opponents define you. This has been a particular challenge for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, whose critics continue to insist that she is a left-wing radical. I am a Republican and have known and worked with Ms. Warren for many years. She is a capitalist and prairie populist, in the tradition of William Allen White and Teddy Roosevelt. She believes in a market economy. She just wants it to work for everyone.

Like me, she grew up in an economically depressed community in the rural Midwest—she’s...

Warren has the center lane over Biden within her control. She shouldn't bend a knee to those propping up the Biden placemarker.

The path to the nomination for Warren is getting to the Biden chair now and before Bloomberg gets it. That means convincing Biden he should step aside with honor. Or not . . .

Biden as the nominee is a disaster. Liz should take his spot for the good of the nation - because Ol' Joe is gone when Bloomberg rises. And Warren is 10,000 times better than a Bloomberg as the nominee. That would be the apocalypse for us all.

She needs a campaign shuffle on messaging. She should be very pissed that a Republican is being pushed for the Biden seat. I am pissed for Liz.

This hiding behind the unfounded notion one cannot criticize a candidate is being pushed to draw attention away from what is coming down the road. She should be livid and focused on telling Democrats - like she did after 2016 - that the nomination was rigged. They are doing it again - this time to Warren.

So who does she need to hit at tonight's debate?

Pete is eating Joe's lunch, so obviously Joe needs to get his people back from Pete.

But Warren is just kind of... there. Is she going to go after Bernie again? Pete seems like a more obvious choice, but it's not clear that Pete's voters are even all that available to her.

Maybe she can just savage Bloomberg and get some heat that way, but he's not onstage.

Warren is in a weird place right now.  She has to thread the needle between Bernie and Pete.  I said it upthread, but I honestly think she is too smart and detailed for the average voter.  She throws out all her plans, which for people who are hyper-aware is great, but Joe Voter who doesn't pay attention it turned off by it.  It's not fair, but that's how it is.

She’s coming to Texas.

She will need to drop the Latinx phrase. Shit, people here don't even use the phrase Latino/Latina. You would think Castro would be able to guide her but that doofus has always struggled with his own identity.

I sure hope the two of you are wrong. Elizabeth of 2008 was a strong force for good. I have her back if she returns to that place in time. Still think she would make one hell of a VP for Bernie. But BC you are right - there is little room for squishiness in this election. She drifted - and, as expected, it hurt her more than Buttigieg.
