I really like this show, but I hate the stupid “frame Tyler to save Nate” arc.   It belongs in a different show that is dumb and I wouldn’t watch.

agreed. that's the only part that really feels forced and out of sync with 'kids today'. the sex, the gender/sexual orientation issues, the booze, the drugs, the social media, etc...all ringing TRUTH bells based on most of the teenagers i know.

sorry to you parents lol

I just want Nate to sleep with the fishes.

Oh and Fuck Maddie too.  She not only seduced this guy into having sex, thus getting him beat to shit in his own home.  Then she said it was him that did it?  Fuck that bitch.

My problem w/ the whole extortion line is that it seems like Nate would be just as exposed to child pornography charges as Jules would.  I mean the dude has 100s of dick picks on his phone and cruises grinder.  At the very least his little secret would be revealed.  Just seems weak.

I'm really interested in seeing what comes to pass between Nate and his father.  Should be good TV.

Anyone watch the last episode?  This show is so good.  And it's going to end tragically...no way around it.  My man Fez(the most underrated secondary character IMO) didn't want to get involved, but did, and then Nate pulled a Nate on him.

Oh, and I'd watch a Detective Rue Bennett(and Lexi Howard) 70's Detective Show spin off.

show makes me feel sadness.  it's great.  Fez is in a bit of a spot with both the police and the gang banger.

yeah.. Gang banger ain't gonna be too sympathetic that Fez's inventory is down the toilet when it come time to collect his take.

Fuck Nate Jacobs.

That last ten minutes felt super self-indulgent.

Bring on senior year in season two.

The end was a bit much, but this show takes a lot of chances and most of them hit. Looking forward to season 2.

Pretty much.  My favorite new show the of the year...but that ending though.

It's not that they did the big musical or anything...or even that they left a bunch of storyline unfinished(WTF happened to Fez?!? McKay?) it was that you just flat don't know what happened in the end.

And I'm sure some will say "open to interpretation" or they told us, but they really didn't.  It just seemed needless, and sometimes you just want to know what the fuck happened before the end of the season.

I’ve watched the first two episodes. Seems like the show is trying too hard.
I do like some of the camera moves and the lighting and stuff like that. I’ll keep watching but it’s kinda ringing hollow for me.

I'd watch through the 4th episode. If you don't want to keep watching at that point, I think you can probably go ahead and bail

First episode I was on board but felt like I was just watching a really dark/pessimistic teen sex flick.  As it got more into her mental illness, addiction, insecurity, and teen fear it started to feel a lot more substantive.  Didn't realize the main actress is also a popular singer (looked her up after the last montage).  She's good.

Finished it last night, surprised so many on this board are singing praises. I gave it a B-, it felt like a good soap opera. Better than average, but not great. Everything is so dramatic, the stakes are so high, typical teenagers.

I do wonder how my viewing of this show would change if I was a. A parent myself or b. Had lived this in high school. I feel out of the loop, went to a big public high school,  we partied a bit, but nothing was this crazy. This is soap opera level shit. Then again every character in this "crew" has a fucked up home life of some sort, they aren't showing the stable homes, nor the split homes where both parents are still involved and providing support/love. Rue's dad died, Cassie's dad is a crack-head and mom's an alchie, Maddie's parents hate each other in the same home 24/7, Nate's dad likes underage trans kids, Jules' mom is MIA, etc. etc. The only semi-normal home seemed to be Kat's and I never saw a dad in hers.

The only couple of "good & normal" kids seemed to be the dude that sat next to Kat and fell in love with her and Cassie's little sister (who grew up in the same household but is completely different). Everybody else was the most dramatic character they could muster.

Are these bonus episodes until the full season 2 gets released?

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/hbos-euphoria-sets-pair-of-special-episodes

The first of two installments between the first and second seasons will debut in December.

HBO will bridge the gap between seasons of Euphoria with a pair of special episodes.

The premium cable outlet has ordered two extra installments of the series, which is coming of an Emmy victory for lead actress Zendaya. The first is scheduled to premiere Dec. 6, with an airdate for the second still to be determined. HBO hasn't said yet when the show's second season will debut.

The first special, titled "Trouble Don't Last Always," picks up in the aftermath of Jules (Hunter Schafer) being left at the train station and relapsing. It will follow Rue (Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas. Colman Domingo will reprise his role as Ali in the episode, written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson.

Both episodes were shot adhering to COVID-19 safety guidelines.

In addition to Zendaya's win for outstanding lead actress in a drama, the show also won Emmys outstanding contemporary makeup (non-prosthetic) and for original music and lyrics. Euphoria proved a solid ratings performer as well, drawing 5.6 million viewers per episode across platforms during its summer 2019 run. It was HBO's youngest-skewing show, with about 40 percent of the audience made up of adults under 35.

Levinson executive produces with Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Drake, Future the Prince,  Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady and Gary Lennon; Will Greenfield is co-executive producer. The series is based on an Israeli format, which was created by Leshem and Levin.

covid delays im sure, but taking so long b/t seasons while not having the story timeline match was REALLY obvious last night... with the exception of Zendaya all the girls looked visibly aged, especially Maddy and Cassie.

show is really good, even if it does make me cringe.

the opening storyline with Fez's OG grandma and where Ash came from was fantastic! but...i don't see how he escapes prison, there were only like 50 eyewitnesses 😕 of course they prolly all also hate Nate, soo...lol

Damn, a ton happening in the first episode. I literally cried out "no!" when rue found the other chick's stash in the car at the party. Lexi looking cute af. Fuck nate. That's all.

Man, that scene where Nate is drunk and egging on McKay about Cassie was fucking spot on closeted jock asshole behavior. There was a dude like that in our house on college.  It was a fucking beating listening to him when he got drunk.

I love this show. I hate this show. It’s fiction but a lot of truth. I have two young daughters and it terrifies me. Makes me want to move to Andorra.

Doing a good job of ramping up the uncomfortable feelings, kind of like scenes from Goodfellas. Bad shit seems to be just around the corner in every scene.
