Willy Wonka - Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp?

I'm going to be honest that I never liked that the Gene Wilder version changed things up from the book and made Charlie and his grandpa into whiny bitches.

But Wilder killed it in the role he was given and made it iconic.

Even if Depp was handed a turd sandwich, he just ate it.

^Someone in Hollywood also thought a reboot of Ghostbusters with an all female team was a good idea.

The only reason that you didn't like it is because you are a sexist.  You're more than likely racist, islamaphobic, transphobic, homophobic, and voted for Trump.  I know this because you didn't like that movie... burden of proof is now on you.

Someone liked it then. That's sort of why I asked the question.

I spent money to see the new version. That doesn't mean I like it. Wilder all the way.

The better question is which movie has the better Oompa Loompas

It might be a better question, but not by much. The Deep Roy Oompa Loompas were terrible.

The original was obviously better.

Depp used to be much more entertaining before he basically became a Disney property.  Take off the makeup and I don't really think there is much difference between his body language in Willy Wonka, Sweeny todd, Pirates or when he plays the mad hatter.  He basically just plays himself on shrooms instead of a character.
