Depression, OCD, and whatever else ails you between the ears
I thought more about it tonight and why I have felt the way I do and I come back to feeling overwhelmed both mentally in trying to sort out many different things at once as well as how technology is intertwined in that. For me, an autistic person, this can be really hard to parse and fully explain how this feels. It's like if you took an egg, cracked it and then scrambled it. I don't know if that mental picture helps out, but in my mind that is kinda how it feels. Everything will just get scrambled at times because of too much information. I feel strongly that technology, as awesome as it can be, is something I have started staying away from more and more. I have not had a TV since I moved here a year ago and my reading comes almost entirely from books, this site (Which can be really helpful to me) as well as one site I subscribe to called Defector, which also is helpful to me in various ways with information. I know that one thing I never do well is doing too little of something. I always push myself to do too much of something. It's a life-long pattern in everything I have ever taken an interest in, both good and not so good. Right now I am in the midst of completing a masters degree for WWII History. Now I love it, but it is a remote degree and that means a whole lot of computer time. I think I feel some burnout from it. I do not regret pursuing this, but the mental strain can be quite a bit and when that happens my mind just wants to shut down entirely. It's why I sat at the beach all day and did nothing but fish and take a nap. I also do a fairly poor job of ever explaining things like this to other folks. I can listen to people all day long and help them through what troubles them. I didn't ask to be good at that, but it is what it is and I'm glad to help folks. I just do not excel at helping myself as much as I do others. I know I need to work on it. Writing this here on this particular thread helps. I have friends I regularly talk to like my best friend of 21 years who is back in Oklahoma. He is also autistic and is far smarter than I'll ever be. I never ask him for advice though as he's about as shut emotionally as I am. I guess I posted this just to get it out and perhaps someone else that feels this way at times can also feel free to share when you feel mentally overwhelmed. I am definitely feeling it, but thankfully tomorrow is another day at the beach fishing and resting so hopefully that helps. I know it helped today as I felt at peace just sitting out there listening to the ocean and the waves. -

Has anyone played 99 Nights in the Forest?
Has anyone played 99 Nights in the Forest yet? I see that many people buy it on Steam, but I’ve also noticed some websites where you can play it online for free. -
