  1. If you could be guaranteed an 8-4 finish to the regular season, yet you do not get to pick the wins and losses, would you take that record, right now? I would take 8-4 if I could, without hesitation. 2 of the last 3 games involved one of the worst Texas offenses I have ever seen and one of those games also included a lackluster defense. I feel like the chances of seeing more abysmally shitty offensive performances over the next 5 games are really high and there's a solid chance that the defense plays like asshole again as well. A blowout loss to Georgia feels inevitable and an embarrassment in Starkville feels very plausible. 5-7 is more likely than 10-2. Hell, 9-3 would fucking stun me. My biggest problem with all of this is that there is no excuse for it. This is year 5 and Sarkisian has been given every resource. This is his doing and the offense is his bailiwick, yet the offense looks like an FCS unit. Also, name a QB that has been on a Texas roster and actually gotten better during their time on campus while Sarkisian and Milwee have been running that room. Like, name a single one.

  2. I hate to derail someone working on shouting that mouthbreathing imbecile back into a corner, but the t-shirt fan shaming is bullshit. Texas has one of the biggest t-shirt fan followings in the world and Texas benefits mightily from it. You're excluding a lot of fans when you start down that path, and it's a silly position.

  5. Whose fucking job is it to make sure the offense knows what routes to fucking run by game 7??? JFC. I will never get the apologists for a head coach that’s also the ceo and the builder of the roster and the OC and the one that designs all plays and makes sure it’s running with precision. It’s on sark to make sure endries knows what fucking route to run you smu fuckstang. Why don’t you fuck off with your hot takes.

  6. Bear in mind that: Johnson continues to refuse to allow a duly elected Democrat from Arizona to take her seat and Abbott refuses to hold an election for another one. Republican legislatures across the country are: Redistricting mid-decade to gerrymander to make their state delegations to Congress less representative of the will of the people and Enacting (or have enacted) multiple additional schemes to disenfranchise marginalized communities. The only morally, ethically, or politically correct response to their anti-democratic moves is to oppose and obstruct on all fronts.

  7. It's fucking crazy to me that White House vanity projects while most of the country is struggling just don't move the needle at all. This type of shit is a first page, first paragraph entry in the "Politics 101: DON'T DO THIS STUFF" book, yet - for some reason - absolutely nothing matters anymore.

  9. Donald Trump said that during his talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, the idea of handing over Donbas to Russia was β€œnever discussed.” According to him, the talks were only about freezing hostilities along the current front line. Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Vladimir Putin allegedly proposed to Trump ending the war in exchange for parts of the occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Meanwhile, Financial Times claimed that Trump echoed Putin’s talking points and urged Zelensky to withdraw Ukrainian troops from Donbas, warning that otherwise Russia could β€œdestroy” Ukraine The President of Ukraine revealed that it was U.S. Special Envoy Witkoff who brought up the idea of Ukraine giving up Donbas during their meeting in Washington. Zelensky responded firmly, saying that Russia’s so-called β€œreferendums” were a farce conducted after the occupation. β€œThe Russians claim they held a vote among β€˜their people,’ but between the invasion and that so-called β€˜referendum,’ ten years passed,” he said. When Witkoff referred to the fact that the results of these β€œreferendums” were written into Russia’s Constitution, Zelensky replied: β€œIf tomorrow Putin adds something else there β€” are we supposed to give it up again? And if I add two Russian regions to Ukraine’s Constitution, will they withdraw from those territories?”

  13. Until we fix the offensive line issues, any QB we put back there is going to suck. Arch may never reach the potential everyone thought he had, but with an even decent offensive line, his performance would be markedly better.

  14. I've said it before, but I actually do think a ton of Republican voters need to touch the stove and we shouldn't keep insulating them from the pain their votes cause. But that doesn't mean voting for a GOP bill that will hurt their own voters. There's a reason the GOP hasn't just abolished the filibuster to push it through, and that's because they want Democrats to co-sign it and take a share of the blame, which is what DonkeyCigars also wants.

  16. That's a good question, for which I don't really have an answer. After thinking and writing what is below, I think the electricity is the answer. That seems like the one thing that affects both the war effort and the social elites. China, North Korea and Iran aren't sending any extra electric power to Russia. The main value of Russian Oil & Gas is export value, the cash and currency that drives their economy. Yes, they need the refineries and finished products, but having money always works, especially when you don't make and sell anything else. They can always buy gasoline and diesel if they have money. Queue Willie, "Turn out the lights The party's over They say that all Good things must end..." My reasoning for the above. Does Russia lose the war because of socialites in Moscow and St. Petersburg are upset, or because the conscripts & criminals on the front limes don't have food, fuel or ammunition? Common sense would say the war effort, but I don't think that is right. Russia has ~ 25 refineries over a 100,000 bbl/day capacity, all of which have been hit repeatedly, other than the 3 located in far eastern Russia. Extrapolating Ukraine's success the past 2-3 months for another 3-6 months would seem to be enough to deprive Russia of transportation fuel in a meaningful way, which means some things quit moving. Taking what I know of the US, and applying it to Russia is folly. The US is all about supply & logistics, and that isn't Russia. The US energy infrastructure is much different than Russia. Our nationwide distribution system is much more pipeline oriented and very little rail. Capitalism, and a free market system with profit opportunity drives a lot of private investment, which means infrastructure anywhere and everywhere. Soviet Russia seemed to be a giant support system for Moscow, with everybody else getting the bare minimum of support and infrastructure. One thing I've notice is most of the energy infrastructure buildings have blue roofs. I assume everything that is blue that isnt energy related is from the graft and corruption in Russia. Google tells me Russian rail is dependent primarily on electricity. Electrified rail moves the food and the oil products. Ukraine has increased strikes on electrical substations, and to a lesser degree power generation plants. It seems the targeting those type facilities has been more discreet and not the wholesale destruction of the power grid, for many reasons. Fuck 'em!!! Deprive the Russian urbanites of electricity, warm food and light, and bring the effects of war to their day to day lives.

  23. From a game theory stance, the republicans have gone full defection, escalation, false signaling, and dominant strategy play, then any play by the democrats to β€˜preserve the system’ or cooperation guarantees a loss. There is no scenario with Republican tactics where democracy lives. Our system is therefore dead no matter what. Democrats only play is to win at all costs and then hope to rebuild a system that closely resembles a system that you were previously trying to preserve. So there must be an escalating tit for tat with assured enforcement with a credible threat of retaliation. The only play is to not play their game. Do not give them any votes on anything. AT ALL.
