  1. Updated the visit tracker with this recent flurry of news. Big weekend coming up. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i5Kk5NNdAVIc_sGJSDovph0VSmwrJuCcFufuvCDnJ5g/edit#gid=0

  4. Anyone signing on to play for Texas needs to understand the decision has zero to do with anything as trivial as their own education or athletic development. It should be all about making the regulars on this board proud to be Longhorn fans. I don't know why that's so hard for some players to get their heads around.

  5. He went to court not for the servers and Shaggy but to personally try to demoralize and embarrass Bob. Instead he's turned Bob into a mythical creature of sorts. This was a most impressive migration, it occurred with speed and efficiency. Fuckface Morgan just created a phoenix rising from the ashes of Shaggy. The piece de resistance is that podcast. It's when many of us knew, shit is gonna be just fine. Shit. LOL And knowing Bob from the one time we met, you couldn't know a more gracious asshole. He deserves better and it will all turn out roses for him/us.

  10. I don't own a squatty potty, but I like having my feet raised. So I always turn my trashcan on it's side when I shit. Or in hotels I'll use random furniture. Once I jammed an ottoman in the john so I could poop like a gentleman.

  12. Like imagine you are this lady. You've had a long and successful career of race bating and outing gay people and scaring old white people. You have a big time tv show. The people you associate with probably respect you or at least pretend to. You think you've made it, or at least made it as far as a shrill bigoted white lady can make it. You dog whistle Lebron James and sure, you get roasted by adults with an IQ over 80, but your loyal base eats it up harder than a hat full of leaves. Then one day you see a child from Florida speaking out against gun violence and you think "bingo, time to get my name out in the news again and boost those ratings. I can say whatever I want, because my loyal following of mouth breathers and cash-for-gold enthusiasts will love this." So you fire off a tweet and go to bed, ready to see the shitstorm you started in the morning and then talk about it all week. Except that doesn't happen. That little shit tweets at your advertisers. You probably laugh it off at first, but then one by one they start dropping you. Your producers are calling you, the network is pissed, and suddenly there are consequences for being the piece of shit you always have been. And then you have to come out crawling on your hands and knees and apologize to some fucking kid from Florida or else you will lose everything you have. Don't try and tell me that isn't fucking awesome.

  13. So, my wife is from Fort Worth, and she has two younger brothers who are massive Ranger fans and still live up there. Let’s just say that owning your brothers-in-law in sports is very fun, especially when they have to pony up after your team wins a World Series. This is now a part of MMP outside of the center field gate. I saw it today for the first time.

  18. As was the removalable stereo, car phone, sun roof, son in private school kicking ass at hockey with the groupies cheering him on (I will let the horrible game action slide), all the while his wife is a chimney who isn't sleeping and his daughter is waist deep in spy shit. Just an unreal episode, everything was perfect and the 3 year jump didn't fuck the show up like it tends to do others with less quality writers. I still do not understand why this show doesn't get more fucking awards and press it is hands down one of if not the best show on network or cable tv.

  19. I may have posted this before but this is from Zeppelin's set at the "Day on the Green" in Oakland, 1977. This was the setlist and you can see that they blocked together certain songs that used the same guitar and tuning. But according to my research from looking at videos from that tour, LPs were swapped out every song in a 1-2-3 cycle. I guess that made damn sure the roadies had time to change strings, retune, etc. All the acoustic songs are in open G or something close so I imagine one was purely a backup. The Song Remains the Same - EDS-1275, standard tuning on both necks Sick Again - same Nobody's Fault but Mine - LP right Over the Hills and Far Away - LP middle Since I've Been Loving You - LP left No Quarter - LP far right Ten Years Gone - This is the Tele song and I knew that without looking The Battle of Evermore - Mandolin Going to California - Martin in open G (JPJ on Mandolin) Mystery Train (Little Junior's Blue Flames cover) - no idea Black Country Woman - Martin in open G Bron-Y-Aur Stomp - Martin in open G Trampled Under Foot - LP White Summer/Black Mountain Side - Danelectro DADGAD Kashmir - Danelectrio DADGAD Guitar Solo - LP I guess? Achilles Last Stand - A different LP Stairway to Heaven - I won't insult your intelligence Encore: (LPs all the way home) Whole Lotta Love Rock and Roll Black Dog

  26. Straw man. "Gun ban" is bullshit. And nobody is saying "guns are 100% culpable." There are fewer traffic deaths per mile than there were 40 years ago because: 1- better vehicle design for crashworthiness 2- mandatory seatbelts and airbags 3 - better design of antilock brakes, steering, and tires allows better evasive action to avoid wrecks. Etc. MULTIPLE steps improve safety. Taking steps to limit the availability of high-cap firearms to school students won't ELIMINATE risk of death, just like a seatbelt and airbag don't ELIMINATE the risk. But the step will likely incrementally REDUCE the risk. I firmly believe in a comprehensive approach. Dealing with guns won't solve the entire problem, but refusing to deal with them altogether foolishly skips over measures that are likely to reduce the risk of my kids getting blown away in their algebra class. Said President Johnson. Again, I'm fascinated to watch the denigration and outright attacks on an entire generation. If y'all wanted to make enemies of an entire voting bloc, it's hard to think of a more effective gameplan than the one y'all are running. They hear EXACTLY what y'all are saying, and they're going to remember it. Let's bookmark this discussion for 10 years from now, when all of these "school children" are well into their voting years. I suspect we'll hear about the events of the recent months as a significant motivator in their voting choices and feelings about a certain political party in 2028. And sooner, of course. My daughter will be voting in 2019, and all y'all are doing is pissing her the fuck off.

  30. Protip: Skip the informal hearing/e-file (or whatever it's called now) and request to go the formal hearing. They will try to strong-arm you into settling before you reach the hearing (even in the lobby before your scheduled appt) but tell them to eat shit. If your case is reasonable (not some bullshit where you're gonna try to convince them the prop it's really worth $1/sq.ft.) you will get a "fair" valuation and then your assessed value will be locked in for the next 2 years. Source: I used to be that guy you would talk to during the informal hearing.

  36. Didn't realize that the pivot by...wait for it...both sides of the political spectrum on Assange was so controversial. The Astonishing Transformation of Julian Assange Views of the WikiLeaks founder have shifted as American partisans project their own priorities onto him. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/01/assange-man-in-the-news/512243/ It’s not that unusual for a public figure to go from hero to villain. But going from villainy to heroism? That’s a tougher road to traverse. Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder and central figure, has managed to do both over the last few months, culminating in a remarkable embrace by the president-elect and two longtime critics on the American right, Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin. Over the same time, some of Assange’s erstwhile champions on the American left have drifted away, disillusioned by the way WikiLeaks attacked Hillary Clinton during the presidential election. Has Assange changed, or is his rehabilitation on the right, and his loss of esteem on the left, simply a factor of political exigencies within the United States? The answer is a little bit of both.
