  1. This seems a good example to show the difference between what conservatives call fake news and Fox News. Photographer takes picture of crying girl and mother stopped by Border Patrol, sees them loaded into van assuming they are to be separated. Turns out they weren't. Time acknowledges the error, as journalist organizations have done for as long as there's been journalism. It doesn't change the fact now accepted by virtually everyone that thousands of children were being separated from their parents. It's just that this wasn't one of them. Same issue. Ann Coulter goes on America's #1 source for news and claims the kids being separated from their parents are actually child actors and implores the president not to be swayed by their dramatics. No evidence. No corroboration. No later acknowledgement that further investigation has uncovered zero reasons to believe these children were putting on an act. No retraction. One is an error later clarified that does little to change the veracity of the larger story- that thousands of kids were being separated from their kids for misdemeanors or for seeking asylum. The other is an intentional unacknowledged falsehood meant to supplant the true story- that these are crisis actors staging a scene that's not really happening. https://thegrio.com/2018/06/23/time-magazine-forced-to-clarify-cover-of-crying-migrant-girl/ http://thehill.com/homenews/media/392774-ann-coulter-calls-immigrant-children-child-actors

  4. So FOX providing a forum for known liars (Ollie North and Hannity just to name two more) doesn't reflect on the trustworthiness of FOX News? These liars are regular, celebrated figures on FOX.

  6. Well, asswipe, has any previous president called the media the enemy of the people, tried to discredit facts as "fake news," and urged his supporters to beat down hecklers? If you don't like this country the way it's been for the last 240 years, move to Russia, motherfucker.

  7. I was going to post the same thing. That image represents what the Trump policy was doing. They could have used a young actress and that would not have discredited the point of the image. There are crying children. This is a Trump policy. We've all seen it confirmed on TV a thousand times. This is not a misrepresentation. Claiming it's a misrepresentation on the absurd grounds that the source image of the girl wasn't actually separated from her mother is like saying Trump is actually at the border staring down little girls. Claiming this is a misrepresentation is a dishonest bit of sophistry hoping to discredit a source more reliable than the party raising doubts about that source. Stop fucking lying. Creating a believable lie is not an argument for anything other than proving that you are comfortable being dishonest. Despicable and erosive.

  9. Your logic didn’t support the rest of the statement, since any competent QB could replace him. That would make him an incompetent QB, regardless of him being a pitcher.

  17. Time (nor Fox News) can't be held responsible for posting the entirety of its content on a 3rd party platform like Twitter or for 3rd parties passing their content along, yet the 3rd party link I provided is just that. And yes, this publicly acknowledged mistake that gave the impression this child was about to be taken from her mom was relatively minor. The raising of the flag on Iwo Jima is iconic and it was staged. It doesn't mean we didn't capture the island nor does the crying girl pic mean thousands of kids weren't being taken from their parents. Ann Coulter is a NYT best-selling author and regular contributor on America's #1 source for news, Fox News. Political punditry is opinions, insights, and commentary on current events. Events that happened. That's not what Coulter is doing. She's asserting these children are crisis actors, something that according to the best available info, didn't happen. She's conspiracy manufacturing based on a ham-fisted conflation and broadcasting it from America's #1 source for news.

  21. Coe stole two songs from mama's friends -- he jacked the melody for "Field of Stone" from Townes Van Zandt and he just straight jacked "Piece of Wood and Steel" from Richard Dobson. So around that time my parents hosted a party and all those dudes -- TVZ, Dobson, Guy, (maybe) Earle, Steve Young, Coe, probably Billy Joe -- were there. Basically the cast of Heartworn Highways. And mama took the cover of Coe's current album and propped it up vertically against the toilet tank, so that all the dudes there were pissing on it all night long. (Intentionally wayward aim.) Coe didn't know why everybody was looking at him and laughing until he went in there to take a leak and saw his piss-stained album cover staring back at him. Poor Coe just wanted to be accepted, and thought he had really made it into the in crowd of the best young Nashville songwriters, but the thieving little shitheel did steal those songs, so fuck him.

  24. I have an old (aggy) NASA friend blowing up his Facebook page with pictures of him making a specific trip to Canada to watch Money Badger play. Picture of him with a jersey at the stadium and everything. Someone ask if he saw him play... "No. Masoli played the whole time, but maybe next game!" was the response. So very aggy

  34. Colby Carthel is my hero! He’s giving Jimbo pointers on how to win a natty like we did (I’m an a&m commerce/ETSU grad) only to realize aggy will never win one. I’ve gotten to know him some over the last few seasons (interned with the athletics department) and had a conversation with him a few months ago about Jimbo receiving the dateless national championship plaque and I told him that it was disrespectful of John Sharp to give Jimbo that plaque because it was stealing Colby‘s thunder. Here he is, a coach who actually won a national championship and during recognition they give one to Jimbo as well. That’s just like a spoiled kid at someone else’s birthday party who won’t calm down or behave unless they get a birthday present too.

  36. NGD Friday is here. A lot sooner than I thought it would be, but what the hell. Better pics to come later, but here's a sneak preview. First of all, never do any guitar dealin' on an empty stomach. And patience is a virtue. Although I still wonder if I could have gotten a little more off the price if I had waited a couple more weeks. But I got tired of screwing around. 2011 American Standard Tele, swapped pickguard and they had installed the N3 noiseless pickups. Just a few minor dings and blemishes upon close inspection, but it sure feels great in my hands. $800 out the door including the tweed case.

  39. My bro-in-law's really into pro football - mainly for fantasy football. But my wife's side - her dad, brother, brother-in-laws, sisters, etc - have no clue sports even exist. It's a real beating when they want to schedule a birthday get- together when a UT game is on. But I just don't go. My sister-in-law once asked me how come I rarely show up for her impromptu dinner get-togethers and I told her if she wants me to be there she needs to check the UT football schedule first.

  42. No when I enrolled the school was already A&M Commerce. However, a few of the older alumni that I’ve gotten to know have told me about when they received emails and letters a few years back asking if they wanted to receive a new diploma that said Texas A&M Commerce on it. All of them refused because they simply said, “I didn’t go to Texas A&M Commerce, I went to East Texas State University.”
