  3. Officer Edwards is a true American patriot and hero. She is everything that these LARPing clowns wish they were. And based on what was said by the committee chair at the end there, this is ramping up towards Trump finally facing coke charges and being held even the least bit accountable for his role in the attempted insurrection. I won't believe it until I see it, but there's a storm brewing, and and i hope his ass gets swept away by it.

  5. This seems like a mental health issue to me. We should ensure we have the appropriate amount of deliberations at an appropriate time. Now is not the time for politics. A Supreme Court Justice’s life was threatened.

  6. This whole thing kicked off long before Joe Biden ran into trouble, whether of his own making or beyond his control. If the Committee wanted to be even more "tactical" or strategic or cynically political about these hearings, they could have held them closer to midterm elections. They're doing it now because they've finished their investigative work. The idea that this is simply a distraction from Joe Biden completely minimizes or misses the fact that there was a serious, orchestrated attempt, of which the actual 1/6 riot was but a fairly small part, to overturn the result of a free and fair election. You can quibble about voter suppression, gerrymandering, voter id and all of that shit, but elections, and honoring their results is a core, fundamental part of The United States of America. Trump, and apparently the majority of the GOP, is perfectly willing to ignore the results of an election that they don't like. That is un-American by about any standard you want to apply.

  10. People who argue that the Jan 6 insurrection wasn’t that big of a deal are really really unintelligent rubes. They don’t understand the important point. It’s not about the people who stormed the building. It’s about elected officials and their allies trying to overthrow an election and destroy our democracy. That is one of the biggest and most serious issues in our country’s history. That idiots can’t grasp the importance of that is mind bottling.

  11. Fucking traiters in here wanting a precedent set that any time someone loses an election, it's totes cool to try and take over the government with violence and corruption. The stupidist, most deplorable Neanderthals and all of our neighbors. Absolute dipshits.

  12. It's comical that 24 hours before the Jan 6 Committee hearings, on a forum with a multi-year thread denouncing political violence, a conservative poster starts a thread suggesting some sort of equivalency by "both sides", as if the GOP base hasn't spent decades plus Edgelord signaling with guns and skull decals plastered on their trucks, flying wartime Confederate, Gonzales, Gadsen flags in their yards, strutting around in public protests with AR15s like America's a third world country warzone that exists for them to live out their Rambo fantasies, and with all the memory and foresight of a goldfish, selected the one outlier out of a crowded 2016 field of GOP presidential nominees who EXPLICTEDLY incited violence at his rallies, offered legal aid for those who followed thru, and literally worshipped him even more when he decribed them as a group that would still support him if he shot a guy on 5th Avenue.

  13. I’ve been saving my first post for a moment like this. So here goes (not into the whole brevity thing): Fuck the glum bullshit. I’m not coming down from this high. Talent discrepancies have been there for a very long time. Getting this team to this series is not a miracle. That would be a disservice to the hard work everybody in the program has invested. But it is one hell of an achievement, and I am damn proud to celebrate it no matter the outcome. I don’t give a shit if they get donkey punched again tomorrow night. This has been a fantastic run by a bunch of really gritty girls who could have mailed it in after Clearwater (like most of us wrote them off), but they had more pride than that, pulled together, and took this program to a place it has never been before. This is the team Cat always deserved. So many different players have stepped up when the team needed it. Those sooner girls can hit eleventy billion homeruns and their fat fucking fathers can fill the screen for an hour talking about xbox, wrestling, and god knows what else, but the most compelling story of this wcws will be the resilience and fight that these young women, an afterthought to everyone outside of that locker room, have put on display defeating all-American after all-American and higher seed after higher seed..all the way to the fucking championship series. Yeah, ou’s fucking better, but anybody thinking some other team would fare any better against them is deluded. Three teams have beaten them, and the first to do it is standing there at the end. They’ve earned the right to have the final crack against the reigning champs. So, lace ‘em up tomorrow, girls. You’ve proven that you can overcome tremendously long odds. Control what you can control. Clean up the errors. Work the count. Pitch to Alo..and Jennings. Let it all hang out. If they beat you, they beat you. Nothing they do will change the way I feel about this team or what it has achieved. You’ve given hope to the 48 unseeded teams that make the tournament each year that they can do the same. That hope did not exist previously. To me, that’s as important a contribution to the sport as any juggernaut ou squad could ever give. Nothing’s bringing me down, ladies. You are fucking legends. Play it out. Fuck ou. Hook ‘em.

  14. there's a gun problem in this country. there's a mental illness problem in this country. neither are being properly addressed. at all. none of that is controversial or political. it is fact. it was fact before this thread, it will be fact after this thread. this thread sounds like "see, it's not just republicans!" i don't think the intended point was achieved. if it takes crazy democrats running around with guns acting crazy to get movement on these issues, i say let the doors of the democratic wing of the looney bin swing wide fucking open.

  18. I’m trying to teach the boy (9 YO) about responsibility and how to take care of things and the like and grow him up and become a man. Mehta could be more manly than dumping the sewage tank, right? He’s been doing it with me for the last 3 times on the trip. We go out there and he says, dad- I’ve got this, I can’t do the hose so if you could do that I will do every thing else. me beaming- proud of you boy, good for you. I go over to move the hose from city water to black tank flush. I turn off the water as he’s hauls out the slinky. Start transferring over the hose. He pulls off the cap and before he hooks the hose up he pulls all the levers and just covers us with 4 days of our own shit and piss. It’s 108 degrees so the smell is even better than you’d think. He added a pile of vomit to the piss and shit. We bore down and got it done. Now we took a shower and threw away our clothes and flip flops. he was so upset, thought I was going to be mad at him. We laughed and told him that’s how We learn and if he’s as smart as I think he is we won’t end up covered in shit again because he will learn from that.

  22. they're too stupid to understand how government works in this country. i'm beginning to think you're just like them. election results must be certified. they thought if they interrupted the certification process, the whole thing would get delayed and kicked to the states. but again, that's not how it works. this is not afghanistan, and they are not the taliban. no amount of guns would change the process and congress was willing to wait them out or convene someplace else. if you spoke less and listened more, you would know all of this. trump is an idiot who had a bunch of other idiots scribbling out hail mary plans on cocktail napkins, and shocker, none of them worked. even hanging mike pence would not have worked, but i still saw a few nooses (neese?) on tv. i am most certainly a dipshit, a loser, and an idiot. all of my online friends say so.

  30. The point is not the attack on the capitol building. The point is that the attempt was intended to disrupt the certification of a presidential election that has not been proven to be tainted or unfair, even 18 months later. And the disruption was part of a greater scheme to ignore the results of the election and keep that fucking fat piece of shit moron in office for another four years. Shit, if Trump had prevailed on Pence to do his bidding, the riot probably would not even have occurred.

  33. 2 Uvalde Victims Who 'Loved Each Other' To Be Buried Side By Side Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez and Xavier James Lopez, both 10, would text "I love you" to each other at bedtime, their mothers said. Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez and Xavier James Lopez were sweethearts: They passed notes in class, texted each other before bed and made the honor roll together on the day they died. They were killed alongside 17 other children and two teachers when a gunman opened fire in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24. They were 10 years old. Their mothers, Monica Gallegos and Felicha Martinez, told ABC News they had decided the two children would be buried side by side this week at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde. They told ABC News the kids’ friendship began on the first day of fourth grade. Annabell came home from school and told her mom about a boy who smelled and dressed “really nice.” The kids had actually played together when they were just toddlers, and their families got together for barbecues not long after they became friends again. The moms soon discovered that the kids were texting each other to say “I love you” at bedtime. “Me and Felicha would laugh, like, ‘How do y’all know about love?’” Gallegos told ABC News. Their teacher, Arnulfo Reyes, who is still in the hospital recovering from two gunshot wounds, said Xavier would make things for Annabell and write notes for her. “It brings a smile to your face just to think they really loved each other,” he said. Annabell was buried on Wednesday. Her family said in her obituary that she was a “sweet young girl” who loved the color blue, watching TikTok videos and spending time with her sisters and family. Xavier was buried a day earlier. His cousin Lisa Garza said he was a loving and bubbly boy who loved to play baseball and dance with his brothers and his mom. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/uvalde-victims-xavier-annabell-buried_n_62a11e45e4b0c770989ba396?utm_campaign=share_twitter&ncid=engmodushpmg00000004

  34. Fucking idiots. The difference is that any vandalism that occurred during mostly peaceful protests over the murder of George Floyd, and the ongoing killing by police of unarmed black people, was neither directed nor encouraged by any politician. And what we’ve seen in the past has been much worse. Consider the Watts riots or the riots after the Rodney King verdict. What happened on 1/6/21 was directed by a sitting President hoping to overturn the results of a free and fair election. That’s a HUGE difference! Vandalism is a crime and should be treated as such. Trying to overturn American constitutional democracy is a much more serious offense. Anyone who tries to equate the two obviously gets their news from Fox and is essentially a traitor to our country. If you weren’t bothered by the insurrection then that says something. And if you support Donald Trump then then that’s a reflection on your character, or rather the lack thereof. No decent person supports Donald Trump.

  35. I think it says a lot that OP has the energy to react like this and has clearly been waiting a long time for such an incident, while here in reality we are growing numb to things like January 6 and Buffalo because the terrorist cell that is the GOP keeps on giving. The guy should obviously be prosecuted. I’m not going to defend the indefensible. He’s just another example of why gun control is too lax in his country. There is, though, some irony that this is the world Kavanaugh was put on the court to create.

  40. Yup. And that doesn't even count the positive outcomes for western governments with the general weakening of the Russian military, that Russia is choosing to inflict upon itself. It's cynical, but the US is getting off cheap, just supplying tons of weapons and aid, but sacrificing no lives of our fighting forces. Same thing goes for much of Europe. Russia made the mistake of using its own military to engage in a proxy war with the entire West, and they're going to pay for it for generations. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of assholes.

  41. Jokes aside, Democrats all agree this is clearly a mentally ill individual who should not have had access to a Glock. We're for universal background checks, waiting periods, increased low-cost mental health access... all things that may have prevented this and many other shootings. In stark contrast, the Texas GQP wants to make sure he can get any guns he wants and do so right the fuck NOW. Are they willing to support waiting periods before purchasing a gun? No, that would unreasonably deny someone the ability to satisfy their Second Amendment fetish immediately. Are they willing to support universal background checks? No, apparently a considerable number of them are concerned they will fail a background check. Are they willing to consider reforms to handgun laws? Hahahahahaha. Not a fucking chance. Are they willing to support increased access to high quality, low-cost mental health care? No, they are against that. Socialism is only acceptable when it's going to a large corporation, or for buying off rural voting blocs. But somehow, this single event is a condemnation of the Democratic Party, their leadership, their policies and their voters.
