  1. They explicitly consider injuries. It’s a different committee, but I remember when they left Cincinnati off of the top line in the bball tourney because their best player got injured late, even though they were clearly the best team.
  2. Doesn't our 49% include the probability that UGA beats Bama, while Bama's 69% assumes that UGA loses obviously. Texas' percentage to make it when winning out might be much higher in the Bama beats UGA scenario.
  3. To be fair, Bill O'Brien went 15-9 as a college head coach before leaving for the NFL. Obviously Penn State is not the same as Arizona, but it was also right after the whole Paterno thing.
  4. This whole argument is silly. It all started with MW's statement that "Of course style point matter, but they don't replace (or shouldn't) stated criteria," which I agree with. The committee can do whatever the fuck they want and put in tOSU vs. Michigan because they like helmet stickers and stripes, but they should do it based on the stated criteria that they say they must consider, like championships, head-to-head, and strength of schedule.
  5. Again, I'm not sure I agree. Is beating UGA at a neutral cite as good as being Bama on the road? Both will be wins over 12-1 SEC schools, which Bama having played a tougher schedule and having a much better best win than UGA. Ole Miss' best win is LSU and then what - Tulane without their QB? A&M? LSU's best win by far is Mizzou and then what - A&M again assuming they win this week? KSU lost on the road on a last second 60+ yard field goal to Mizzou and their best win is Kansas or maybe Iowa State? OU's best win is obviously Texas and then one of ISU, WVU, or possibly SMU (who is similar to Tulane). OSU's best win is obviously OU and then KSU. I'm not seeing Bama's best wins as better than Texas,' other than in name.
  6. I think the simpler way they get in would be for three of the following to happen: (1) FSU to lose one of their last two games, (2) Texas to lose one of their last two games, (3) Georgia to beat Bama, and (4) Washington to beat Oregon.
  7. All of the Big Noon Kickoff People pick tOSU and Michigan to both make the CFP except for Urban Meyer, who picks both Oregon and Washington instead...
  8. I mean, the CFP website states criteria they supposedly consider (https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2016/9/30/overview)
  9. Even that is debatable. Is beating UGA (12-1), Ole Miss (10-2), LSU (9-3), and Tennessee (8-4), A&M (6-6), Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn, Miss State really much better than beating Bama (12-1), KState (9-3), OU (10-2)/OSU (9-3), Kansas (8-4), ISU (6-6), Tech, TCU, Houston, BYU this year? I don't see how that is close to enough of a difference to outweigh a 10 point road win head-to-head.
  10. In prior seasons, it seems like the committee does a do-over in the final ranking and is not afraid to reassess where teams were prior to that week. Who knows what they do this year, but I do not think it is out of the question that they would reassess Oregon vs. Texas after the championship games.
  11. If true, this would suggest Riley is not planning on leaving right now:
  12. This is the dummest possible way to do it, so I’m sure the Big 12 will do it that way.
  13. But Tech doesn’t play OU or OSU, so they are definitely not a “common opponent”.
  14. Ok. So if Texas loses, OU wins, OSU wins, and KSU loses: There is a three way tie for first with Texas, OSU, and OU. The first tiebreaker doesn’t do anything, because no team beat all of the others. So we look for the next highest placed common opponent(s). You are supposed to treat them a group if tied, but do you include teams that one of the teams didn’t play, like WVU if they win? That is not clear to me. If this website is accurate, Texas is in no matter what happens in the other three games in this scenario. http://bball.notnothing.net/big12.php?sport=fb
  15. My back of the envelope math: 1 Texas wins - in 2 Texas loses and OU loses - in 3 Texas loses, OU wins, KSU loses, OSU loses - in 4 All the other possibilities will take a while to think through
  16. So who’s going to walk through all the possibilities?
  17. Is their OL 5 yards downfield on every pass?
  18. The end of the block made it look worse because the defender gave up and turned his back to Crawford.
