  1. VidGo has not worked for me since before the game started. On on my 3rd YouTube stream.. sucks
  2. I'm not watching on my phone. Search YouTube. Capitol Corner is the acct name on this channel, but it seems to be ~5 minutes behind.
  3. Found a different YouTube stream that's working after the first one popped up some thing in the middle of the screen
  4. Same. VidGo won't load. I tested it this afternoon and was fine
  5. I dunno. I'll miss the Big 12. Have generally fond feelings towards Tech, ksu, isu, OSU. Enjoyed having tcu back in the fold.. The Big12 is my history as a Horns fan as we joined when I was a student. I regret we couldn't make the PAC deal work with tech, OSU, and OU heading out. Would have loved that conference. The SEC I guess will be cool to have some new matchups, but.. meh. Fuck em. I don't really feel any excitement for it.
  6. In my front yard I'll likely try to xeriscape any areas that don't come back, extend beds, etc. But in the back I have some areas that I'm anticipating might not come back, that get pretty full sun, but I do still want grass there. I'm reading here Zoysia takes careful prep to get it to take. Would Bermuda take from seed easily with less prep work? Will I be making a mistake trying to mix St Augustine with some other species like this?
  7. I was watering once a week just to try to give it something, but I'm no longer sure there's a point. I'm not sure it's exactly moral either. Large areas are looking pretty toasted in my yard, and I'm looking for information on what to do next year. I personally just have a few goals for the lawn. 1) have my house not look run down 2) avoid having a mudpit when it rains that the dog tracks in 3) have some ground cover that is short enough to pick up dog poop, not harbor rodents or snakes, etc. 4) not have a ton of weeds to deal with I assume some areas of the St Augustine will come back next Spring, but assume large areas won't with this heat/drought. Is this a correct assumption? What are the options then? Can I throw some grass seed for some other species in the Spring in the dead areas and expect it to come up and fill in? Would that take a ton of water and care to establish, or is it pretty easy? Should I be looking to plant winter rye grass to help combat spring weeds and keep the soil intact? Thoughts?
  8. Don't know that is is relevant to the OP, and I haven't read the entire thread, but dropping this here in case it's useful to someone because I didn't know about it until very recently. https://tea.texas.gov/academics/learning-support-and-programs/texas-virtual-school-network/texas-virtual-school-network-online-schools-program There are some pre-reqs, like you had to be enrolled in public school the prior year to qualify - but Texas has an option to transfer to an online public school program. There are several districts in Texas that have these, and you don't have to be in the district to enroll. So you get a full TEA-approved program, some have special needs programs, have to follow IEPs, etc. Could be a good option for some people..
  9. I don't know the exact RPMs, 3000-something, but I only run mine 6 hours a day (non-salt) the majority at night to both try to cool it more and to do my part for the grid. I also run the pump when we're actively using the pool so average another hour or so a day probably. My water quality is excellent.
  10. I use the TroubleFreePool "method" - and maintain it myself. If you have salt water, for sure maintain it yourself. If you are using chlorine, like me, it's kind of a PITA to source/buy liquid chlorine and mess with it every day, but I still wouldn't pay anyone else to do it. I put in a liquid chlorine pump to partially automate it but I'm tempted to switch to salt at some point.
  11. Heading to see Billy Strings tonight at Moody Center. Looks like they aren't running the $20 state parking garages tonight, only the $40 lot next to Moody. Anybody know a good spot for street parking? Or are you allowed to park in the state garages anyway? I assume not.
  12. I bought the 56v Ego trimmer from Lowes. The Ego trimmer blows away my old Echo gas trimmer for power. Their blower is awesome too. I'll never go back to gas. But to "echo" what someone else said, replacement carbs or carb refresh kits are cheap and easy to install if you want to hang on to gas.
  13. Miami making some tough contested shots.
  14. Have we discussed the fact that he resembles Gustavo Fring? I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I haven't read all the threads.
  15. Just came back up in 49.. steady on about 10 minutes now, and AE just texted it's up. About 43 hours down. Woohoo!
  16. Semi related.. we have a gas log starter in the fireplace. Do they make an insert you can just place over the log starter so you could easily convert back and forth to wood/gas? I was almost thinking to clean the ashes out and dump a bunch of lava rocks in there to run the gas all day if I ran out of wood..
  17. We lost power about 3am ish the first night. We got it back for about 15 seconds last night, then something else blew. Glad I bought the kids new 40 deg bags for Xmas.. everyone stayed pretty warm last night.
  18. Still out for me in 78749.. running low on firewood so hoping they can make something happen tomorrow.
  19. If Dems have 213 seats, and you need 218 votes to elect the speaker - it seems plausible they could find 5 votes for some republican who is well-respected and not a shitbag? Maybe? Seems preferable to having McCArthy, already a shitbag and even more beholden to the nuts.
  20. I haven't followed this closely - so ignorant question incoming, sorry if already discussed. Could the Dems band together to nominate some institutionalist and/or respected Republican and pull enough R votes to get them in?
  21. Yeah, they just moved a few weeks back or so. And yes, ask for the returnable ones - you pay like a dollar or two deposit the first time on the bottles. They don't always have them, so might be worth calling ahead - I've only been using them a couple of months and a couple of times they've been out.. Hopefully they are more reliable in the warmer months. But so far it beats driving to different Walmarts and hoping they are in stock, and then filling up the recycle bin with tons of plastic.
  22. PSA for those of you who use bleach for sanitization. I recently discovered that there are pool supply outfits that sell liquid chlorine (and acid) in returnable bottles they refill. I've been using Texas Pool Supply (recently moved from S First/71 to near 35/71) in S Austin.. It's not a retail place and I had to open a commercial account, but they haven't given me any trouble about it so far. It's just under $5 a gallon for 12% bleach. So far I've gone through about 24 gallons and it all was pretty fresh. 4 1-gallon bottles come in a plastic crate so they're easier to transport than individual bottles as well. You can find other potential dealers here: https://hasapool.com/dealer-locator/
  23. My old shop vac bit the dust and I recently replaced it with one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-5-Gallon-5-0-Peak-HP-Portable-Wall-Mountable-Wet-Dry-Shop-Vacuum-with-Filter-Two-Locking-Hoses-and-Accessories-WD5500/100377372 It's smaller and has no wheels, but it has a wall mounting bracket so it doesn't take up space really, and it sucks really well. The hoses are pretty long and it has lots of attachments. So far I've used it to: - clean a broken glass - vac all the baseboards (w a long attachment so I didn't need to bend over) - vac the AC ceiling filter grates (again long attachment, didn't need a step stool) - clean pet fur from the couches - vac the stairs It's done all these tasks better than my Dyson ball, and the old shop vac was too large to jack with for these type of tasks for the most part. I'm gruntled with it.
  24. Whole movie was contrived and barely made sense. Some decent action I guess. A few of the characters were likeable on their own, but the story was pretty dumb.
  25. I get that's the general sentiment, but what does that mean to the day to day job of an APD officer? Is there more paperwork? New policies which tie their hands? Are they overworked due to staff shortages? Like what is actually different about being an APD cop today vs say 5 years ago. edit to add: I would guess being a cop anywhere in America sucks more than it did previously - they're all under a microscope post George Floyd + all the other incidents. But is Austin a "worse" place to work than other comparable city due to policies the city has enacted?
