  1. Collecting all the post-game analysis articles, including those behind paywalls, regarding the Ohio State game here: (Gerald Goodridge) Ohio State 14, Texas 7: Three things we learned (Joe Cook) Instant reaction: Texas drops another one to Ohio State in 14-7 loss
  2. Ewers and Manning were both the No. 1 high school recruit in the entire country in their respective recruiting classes. Ewers was drafted in the 7th round, and Manning now looks unable to execute the offense. How does that reflect on your QB coach? Not well.
  3. If they didn't learn from last year's redzone debacle after a full offseason, idk what you expect them to learn this time around.
  4. If Manning doesnt shape up quick, people are going to stop comparing him to Ewers and start comparing him to Garrett Gilbert.
  5. freshman Ewers >>> sophomore Manning. Jesus, what a drop-off in competency
  6. Looks like we have major issues, then.
  7. Yeah we still have s big fat zero on the scoreboard, but it was so "effortless!"
  8. He wasn't super accurate as a thrower. It was one of the criticisms the film guys have mentioned in the lead-up to the opener.
  9. Refs already hard at work this season.
  10. Breitling just announced another NFL collaboration, this time with their Endurance Pro series. $4400 on a rubber strap.
  11. Nebraska starts off the season with a one-score win over a dreadful Cincy team. Huskers may have their own version of the Aggie Rollercoaster on their hands, with the way they're celebrating.
  12. Because with the recent announcement that the CFP will put greater weight on marquee wins, Nebraska probably realizes they fucked up. They did everything they could to ensure an easy schedule, only for the CFP to announce that it will reward schools that go in the opposite direction.
  13. Yep. Pittsburgh embarrassed A&M in the rematch at Kyle Field the following year.
  14. Cornes de vache 😍 Furlan Marri makes a time-only sector dial homage for about 1/20th of the price (and 1/200th of the charm, IMO)
  15. Nebraska is trying to resurrect the 'Blackshirts' moniker
  16. Lol. This is from less than a year ago: https://atozsports.com/college-football/texas-longhorns-news/usc-arkansas-adding-corporate-logos-to-their-field-but-dont-expect-texas-to-cash-in-after-ncaa-rule-change/ USC, Arkansas adding corporate logos to their field, but don't expect Texas to cash in From the sound of Del Conte’s remarks, it’ll be a while before the Longhorns put logos on the field at Royal-Memorial Stadium. Maybe never. “Anyone who knows me knows I’m a traditionalist. We haven’t contemplated any of that,” Del Conte told A to Z Sports on Thursday. Texas, arguably the most financially successful athletic department in America, doesn’t need money. The football program alone generated $183 million during the 2022-23 fiscal year, according to figures obtained by USA Today. Putting logos on the field or the UT uniform might be more trouble than it’s worth. Texas would have a hard time selling a corporate sponsorship to the field. The Longhorns currently play on Earl Campbell-Ricky Williams Field at Royal-Memorial Stadium. It’s hard to imagine UT pushing its two Heisman Trophy winners aside for a business name. The field was renamed in Campbell and Williams’ honor in 2020. Previously, it was called Joe Jamail Field in honor of one of UT’s biggest donors, who died in 2015. Frankly, it’s hard to envision Texas putting any sort of corporate logo on anything associated with its football stadium, field or program. Then again, anything is possible for the right price.
  17. A lot of this feels like the first Georgia game from last year. Arch is mobile but the reality is he's likely going to be running for his life all day thanks to pass protection breakdowns. We can only hope the running game gets untracked, but if things get out of hand fast we're going to be throwing all day trying to catch up. That's when the sacks, turnovers and three-and-outs will start to happen very quickly and at that point our defense is going to be spending a lot of time on the field and begin to tire. I think our D-line does well against Ohio State's O-line, but our O-line is a big step down from last year's unit and is probably going to be completely overwhelmed in the Horseshoe. Part of that is just terrible luck with Cojoe and Goosby's injuries + Brooks' idiotic DUI. Part of it is poor choices in O-line recruiting from years ago finally coming home to roost. It would have been so much better for both Texas and Cam Williams if the latter had stayed one more year. Instead he fell to the sixth round of the draft and we lost out on what would probably have been his best year.
  18. tOSU 24 UT 20 Manning: 198 yards total
  19. I don't buy the notion that going under center more will help our run game. So easy to stop these days, even when no blocks are whiffed.
  20. Today I learned CTJ considers "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" a solved problem.
