  1. I didn't make any comment about y'alls expectations to win. I was making a comment towards someone saying we are all around worse than a team we beat. I've watched UT and Tech enough this season to know this game is a toss up.
  2. One of the guys in my office went to a luncheon for Tech boosters today. Bowman isn't playing tomorrow. McClane Carter will back up Duffy, but Carter's at like 95% right now, too. Dakota Allen is going to try to go, but is not 100%. Also the guy from the football program that was speaking said we are all around worse than OU, so they think they have a good shot to win. I reminded my coworker we beat OU.
  3. Watched bits of this game before it became totally uninteresting... What a bizarre box score, though. 33 rushes by 8 different players for WVU with no single player carrying more than 7 times and the leading rusher for the game having 1 carry for 79 yards.
  4. I could swear I remember him saying early in his tenure he wore black so it was easier for players to find him on the sideline. I'm all about him wearing orange, but I think there was an actual reason for his ridiculous black shit. And yes, TH is somewhere on the spectrum.
  5. This isn't rocket science. A 1-loss Big 12 team WILL make the playoffs. The only way that wouldn't happen is if there are 3+ undefeated teams after CCGs are over. Since 2004, there have only been 3 seasons with multiple P5 teams that were undefeated going into bowl games and even in those years, there were only 2 undefeateds (2005 Texas/USC, 2009 Texas/Bama and 2010 Auburn/Oregon). If you're in a P5 conference and take care of your shit, you'll be fine.
  6. He somehow sucked so much he got promoted to the NFL.
  7. This is correct and it’s been that way since at least 2006 when tOSU came to Austin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  11. Dude. From May of this year: https://www.tallahassee.com/story/sports/college/fsu/football/2018/05/17/fsu-still-exploring-all-options-football-facility-upgrades/618468002/ "Florida State is in the middle of the planning process to catch its football program up in the facilities arms race." Also, Stanford tore its 84-year old stadium to the ground and built a $90M stadium in its place in 2006. And I bet they are already planning renovations to that. When the UT System issues bonds, it's not placing any real risk on tax payers. Its actually managing its enormous coffers responsibly. When the University of Texas builds luxury seating at the behest of wealthy individual donors, it's not putting the average citizen out, it's providing a service in return for revenue it would not otherwise realize. You're not basing your view of college football in reality, you're attacking an athletic director and his department for making changes that don't fit your worldview of how college athletics should be run since the beginning of time. Good luck tilting at that windmill, comrade. I'm done.
  12. Oh, he said he wants ZERO luxury seating. Guess he's sick of Scrooge McDuck swimming around in his luxury box full of gold coins. We need 108,000 stone cold sober people sitting on steal bleachers with no backs, to be the fair public institution we are supposed to be.
  13. First, thanks for pointing out that part of the renovations will be financed through RFS. I didn't realize that. Also $50 million in bonds through RFS is nominal relative to how many other schools have financed athletic department expenditures. My next question would be, why zero luxury seating? If someone wants to pay $10M for a 10-year lease on a luxury box, what does that matter to you? The suite most certainly did not actually cost $10M to construct and it will continue to generate revenue after the initial term is up. If you genuinely think that $175M is going to be spent solely on luxury seating, I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what to tell you about drunks at games. I would venture to say that in general, college football games are not a place teetotallers would feel at home and never have been. The college football arms race I referenced has been written about ad nauseum for the last 20 years. Facilities matter. Gameday atmosphere matters. Your writing on these subjects leads me to believe you are either trolling or not quite the football fan you claim to be.
  14. And the change in student seating policy (stream lining entry and first come first serve) was that for the benefit of the wealthy? How is Bevo Blvd which will be open to everyone benefitting the wealthy? The misters were a fans idea tweeted out to CDC. The stadium expansion, which will be paid fully through donations is shockingly adding nicer amenities instead of additional seats. What else would you have them do? What’s your master plan for the stadium? Leave it as is and lose the college football arm race without even a whimper? Lastly, if improving the stadium and some more people drinking at a college event keeps you away, I’m not too worried about losing out on your “fandom” at games. 15. If you’ve been watching since the sixties, you should be one of those wealthy alums reaping the benefits. Sorry life didn’t turn out the way you wanted, Al. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  18. If a guy spends four years at Texas, gets a degree and doesn’t cause problems, he should be able to go wherever he wants (yes, even OU, however his degree should be revoked at that point). This isn’t a precedent for some freshman that’s not happy with his playing time to bolt to anywhere in the conference they want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  21. I hate Arkansas more than anything not named Oklahoma. I'm still mad about that piece of shit no-namer trying to break Vince's ankle after a play in 2004. As a state they are responsible for Jerry Jones, Barry Switzer and fucking Wal-Mart. Let's fuck these bitches up and send them back to their cousins for comfort. Fuck Arkansas. 22. An official account of Kody's homer today goes like this: PING bat flip Stare down pitcher from 1st to 2nd Hook'em to Occupy Left Field between 2nd and 3rd Hook'em to visitor dugout between 3rd and home Ignore Ump warning while crossing home plate It was a busy celebration.
