  1. Wife asked me once how to know if your team is good or not. I told her to watch the lines play and not watch the football. Then watch the WRs and see if/how well they block. If your team's lines are playing well/doing their job and the WRs are good at and actually block, your team is good and it will be reflected in the score at the end. Every game at the beginning of every season for Texas, I watch the above. Every year we are "bad" and can't turn the corner, it's because of this shit right here. Go back and watch our WRs on the 2005 team. They blocked and would truck dudes down the field. It opens so much room and makes it easier for the backfield or TE to get into the open. Really want to see good blocking this year from the WR group. I hope you're right. Not sure how, but still hope. Shit, I'd just like to see Whittington play 2 full games in a row. (If this has happened already, you could knock me down with a feather.) Based on this, I would say that Casey gets the nod and starts the season. Take whatever they are selling you and bet the opposite. It almost never fails.
  2. Agreed. Walking out of that stadium with the win hearing "Poooooooooor Aggies" is like finishing dinner someone else paid for while being handed a glass with two fingers of Macallan 15. Perfect. The tailgate experience before the game was so much fun, because I freakin' knew (had a great feeling, plus their D sucked at the time) we were going to win that game. The game started with Reggie "The Real Deal" McNeil proclaiming that this was his first start against Texas, only to see Dustin Long trot out for their first series. David Thomas got matched up with a slow LB and it was 7-0 within the first 3 mins of the game. Then El Ced (RIP) ran down their throats for the rest of it and it was all but over. Got back to the tailgate and said nothing to everyone who were sitting, sad, next to a radio listening to Dave while I opened a beer and smiled. My friend looks at me and says, "I don't like it when you're happy."
  3. also appetizing? Counterpoint: Southeastern peeps that are shitty get to leave and go back to their "homes" and we don't have to sit here in Texas and listen to them bleat on and on, except for aggy, but they bleat on and on regardless of location. Then if you go to the away games, you get to leave after the games are played. If they talk shit it's from far away and easy to remove oneself from the conversation. In the Big XII, BU/TECH/TCU are like the relatives that live next door to you in their double wide and never stop talking. Think of it like visiting family for the holidays. If they come to you, there is a designated leave time and if you go to them it's the same thing. We got to see each other, now go away and I'll see you in a few months/year.
  4. The offense goes with the Oline, but you have to have good blocking from the WR position. The teams that have good screens and run plays have good to great blocking from their WR group. If not, it kills the plays. Like going from a 3-4 yard gain vs a 9-13 yard gain on the same play. Blocking on O matters.
  5. CSB: I was sitting in the “Zone” for this game with 6 aggy friends. I was the only Burnt Orange for 10 rows or so. The aggy guy in front of me had a slight English accent and his lady had the full English accent. He and I talked before the game and said that he brought his girlfriend over from London to see his beloved aggy beat Texas. I replied “Man, you came all the way to BCS from London? You should have picked a different game. This is going to be over quickly.” The aggy band kicks up the “war hymn” and I start swaying with my friends and laughing my ass off. Guy turns around and asks me what I’m doing, and I reply, “I’m just trying to make my friends laugh and enjoy this experience because everyone around me will be leaving by the 3rd quarter and you came thousands of miles to do so.” That TE slip TD and Ced B posing for a photo in the end zone of one of many TDs that day were glorious, but not as glorious as watching that guy sigh and get up to leave in the 3rd quarter with his girl. 🤣 🤘🏼
  6. Those Red uniforms are the best imo. Classic, clean and recognizable.
  7. Not trying to go back in time on this thread or derail, but Charles’ first cut and acceleration after is unreal. It’s hard to even understand just how hard/special that ability is. 🤘🏼
  8. It really does make me physically ill and feel gross. Waco sucks too. Seriously, how does this not make those women feel completely oppressed and downtrodden? $5k? What a slap in the face.
  9. It's a drop in the bucket, but I will never allow my daughter or grandchildren to attend that university. I used to be indifferent to Baylor, but this makes me sad they exist in Texas. It's just completely dirty and shameful. Gross, and fuck the NCAA.
  10. Best thing that this site has ever done is give you the option to ignore the troll. Best decision I ever made, besides clicking on the Sugar Baby thread.
  11. I stand corrected. Was that the SEC Championship Game with a season on the line and only seconds remaining on the clock or was that a meaningless series in the first quarter of a regular season game that made zero difference? My apologies for not being more clear in my original statement, "NO ONE has seen a ref run up to the ball while the chain is being pulled and rock the ball backwards to make it 4th down in a Championship Game with a season on the line and only seconds remaining on the clock."
  12. Just another reason to leave Baylor behind.
  13. Hey, I get the calls issues, we got that shit too in the Big XII against Kansas, but NO ONE has seen a ref run up to the ball while the chain is being pulled and rock the ball backwards to make it 4th down. The ref literally runs to the ball as the chain is being pulled and dropped to move the ball. The Big XII is awful and known for shitty refereeing but that was mind bottling.
  14. I never understood why this didn’t get talked about at all. The ref literally moves the ball back on its point when the chain gets pulled. Texas had the first down but was made to go for it or punt. Couple this with the fact that the Orange Bowl reps that were at this game being visibly pissed off and one audibly saying, “Fuck!” when Texas rolled left, and you can tell they tried everything they could to get Nebraska that win. Fuck this conference. I was so happy that day. Our moving to the SEC without all these ungrateful bitches feels like finishing and wiping it off on their pillow. Texas forever.
  15. I embrace the hate. These schools would leave for greener pastures in a second if they could and had that opportunity. Texas doing it first pisses them the fuck off and they are pissed they couldn't get such an invite first, if at all. All this grandstanding is hammering home the point that Texas was, is, and forever will be the school that runs this state. Fall in line or get the fuck off the track. Which is it, Texas is the only reason you're relevant or is the reason you're not?
  16. In 1987-88 my mom gets pulled over in Comfort, TX doing well north of 1 mile over the speed limit, which if you know small towns and such. Law dog comes up and asks for her license and insurance, while me and my dad are snickering/grinning. We are happy/smiling because my mom drives like a bat out of hell and always says she won't get a ticket and she knows how to drive to avoid the speed traps. My mom looks at him and smiles and say, "Sure, just let me get my purse." Law Dog: Ma'am, ok. Mom: Jerry, hand me my purse. (Dad hands her a large leather purse) Well, it should be... I know I had it with my cigarettes the other day. Here, hold this... Ok... well, it must be with the bills... Law Dog: Ma'am, can you just... Mom: Wait a minute, please I have it right here, I just need to find.... it....I know I had it... I apologize but I have a large purse, I just need to go through it...and find... Law Dog: Ok. Ma'am? Miss I just... Ok, I'll wait... 2 minutes later while Mom is still digging in her purse and pulling it all out... Law Dog: Ma'am, it's ok, Just, this is a small town with older people and you just need to slow down and be more careful. Mom: I'm so sorry I just can't find the license but I know it's here. I will and sorry for getting you out in this heat. My God, it's just so hot. Law Dog walks back to his car and my Mom slowly gets back on the road. We stop at a stop light after driving 50 yards, then pulls out her license and in her best southern accent and devil's horns says, "Oh! Here's is that pesky license, Jerry. It must have been hiding from me." TL:DR - Mom got pulled over and dug around in her purse until the cop got tired of waiting on her license. She's a baller.
  17. on a scale of 1-10, I'd say... Dude.
  18. Did...did he... die? Damn, that thud. Milli Miami for the win...or loss. Everyone is thinking it, but i'm just going to say it. Why can't people buy and use the belt properly? It's like, come on guy. Walking and your pants stay up, but any type of activity that involves slight cardio, the pants go to the ground. COME ON! Am I right? I fly often and have never even seen a disagreement on an airplane let alone a fist fight. I can't decide if I'm lucky or not. Also, pay the money to fly a good airline, it's worth the extra cash.
  19. Watching the Olympics, specifically male gymnastics, pommel horse. the gymnast starts his routine. Wife: how can they tell when they mess up? How do they get points? Me: the judges look for inconsistencies and mistakes before awarding/removing points, I believe. I’ve never actually watched much of the sport to know. Maybe the commentators will explain it. wife continues to watch in silence for about 5 seconds. Commentators begin to answer all of her questions but she begins… wife: I wish they would just tell us at some point how the scoring works and what each element means to the gymnast performing. It would make me want to watch this more. You know? They could just tell us. Me: while you were saying all that, they did explain it for the viewers at home. We missed it. wife: well can’t you run it back? I run it back, just like the loyal dog I am. right as they start talking again wife: I wonder who designs these outfits for them. me: 🤦‍♂️Droopy
