  1. Someone on 247 post mentioned Marques Tuiasosopo (Cal TE coach) if Banks doesn't come. Roach said they have someone checking on it.Tuiasosopo coached with Sark at Washington and then followed him to USC with the Associate Head Coach title. https://247sports.com/coach/Marques-Tuiasosopo-1762/
  2. Jeff at 247 posted the following: Probably nothing new here as I thought I saw yesterday that someone mentioned him for an analyst role, but that lack of specificity was noteworthy in Jeff's post. Please close the door behind you after burning the place down if he is actually kept on as an on-field coach.
  3. Also, wondering if it is being communicated to LJ that Urban would take Drayton with him to Jacksonville if Urban accepts that job (regardless of whether that is true). Outside of some sort of bag theory that should have been delivered way before January, I can't think of any reason why LJ would have waited this long to pick Aggy if we were keeping Drayton and generally getting a much better staff in place.
  4. any idea on why said redass relative waited this long before trying to influence the recruitment (or why it took this long before such influence was effective)?
  5. Not sure if the name got lost in the shuffle or if there was some finality to it, but what ever happened to the rumor about the Seattle LB coach that Carroll supposedly recommended to Sark? Does anyone know if he has any playcalling experience that would possibly make him a Co-DC and LB coach or something, enabling us to also take on Tosh or Raymond as Co-DC with a title or pay raise that each is looking for, respectively. Seattle was just eliminated, so wouldn't expect a lot of delay if it is him. Don't think it is, just seems like no one knows anything, but choices are coming off the board without any reported movement forward on other candidates, so figuring it could be a darkhorse (with the understanding that the 995ers don't know shit anyway, so not expecting them to lead some sort of valid reporting charge).
  6. Flood is likely OC for salary purposes, but Sark will call the plays and Milwee help with gameplan.
  7. Regarding the attempt at Raymond, Roach said that a person he trusts who knows Raymond called it an annual rumor that usually results in a raise.
  8. 45 minutes ago or so, in response to a question about if he's heard anything about Lupoi, FCB mentioned that "Tosh hasn't been asked yet", which seems hard to believe as I believe he or someone else has reported on 247 that they have spoken/discussed the position. That might be because (i) he is under contract with the Falcons right now and they can't say he was offered and/or (ii) they are discussing him as a position coach and won't make an offer until they have the DC on board, but no idea.
  9. I think the COVID transfer applies to them too. Bud Elliot wrote some garbage piece on 247 that all of our commits should be let out of their LOI because of CDC's vote of confidence. He tried to anticipate some of the retorts, one of which is the following: "Just use your transfer" - Athletes are now granted a one-time transfer due to the COVID-19 situation. While this is great news for players, it is unjust to force players to burn their transfer before they even set foot on campus. The proper remedy is a release from the NLI.
  10. Washington Mod from 247 started a topic and has commented in others about Sark: I dealt with Steve a lot while he was at Washington. First thing to know is he is incredibly bright. He learned a lot at Washington and fought some demons. He's a bright, articulate, charming, engaging guy who is also competitive as hell. He's appeared to put his demons behind him. You're going to love Sark. It will be interesting to see who he fills his staff with. Knowing the competitive nature of Sark, I'm sure he negotiated a large assistant salary pool. If he gets Tosh Lupoi on staff, watch out. Tosh is one of the best recruiters I've ever dealt with. He's currently with Atlanta. He's an outstanding recruiter and phenomenal working with QB's. He trusts his guys and has an edge. Guys love playing for him. Texas didn't hit a home run with Sark. They hit a grand slam. Not sure you have a grasp on how good of a recruiter he is. Relentless and ruthless. He'll win the press conference, the team, and current recruits. He's good. He did a pretty good job at UW. He took over an 0-12 program which was bad. Really bad. He changed the culture quickly and had the kids beleiviong in temselves. He hired Nick Holt as his DC, which didn't work at all. He let him go and hired Justin Wilcox, which was a home run. Won seven games his last two years, but recruited very, very well. was set up with a great roster once he purged all Tyrone's guys and improved the talent. The Washington team that made CFP was mostl;y led by guys Sark brought in. Didn't mean to upset anybody, just thought I'd add my two cents on the hire since I dealt with him quite a bit at UW. Most Washington fans are happy for him because they understand the situation. Texas gained a lot of fans from the fine state of Washington today.Good luck If I'm a Texas fan, I'm excited and intrigued. Especially interested in the staff he assembles. With stops at Washington, USC, Atlanta, and Alabama, I'm sure he's learned a lot. Sark isn't a rockhead. He's a very, very bright guy. Tosh is in Atlanta and they will be hiring a new coach. Word from a source close to him is he would prefer to stay in the NFL. If he doesn't land an NFL gig, he could join Sark.
  11. Is there a chance Urban could have been waiting on the Cowboys spot to unfold. We know that he wanted that job last year and given how bad they look this year, could he have been dragging his feet to see if they let McCarthy go after one season? Jerry just came out and said that McCarthy is coming back for next year, so I would imagine we would see some movement soon if that was a reason.
  12. Roach just looked online and noted that the only charge that he could find was for evading arrest, not carjacking. That seems somewhat hopeful.
  13. Two quick questions: 1. What percentage of your posts are calling people a vagina? 2. How many times a day do you just wander around yelling "We're Texas!"? Starting from an equal point, Texas is the preferable spot, but Mullen was in Starkville and then Gainesville, so he's comfortable in shitsholes. He also has a good gig going that probably comes with some job stability rather than having to undergo a semi-rebuild with huge expectations. From that point of view, it shouldn't be difficult to get Saban, Dabo, Matt LaFleur, generally whoever the fuck we want.
  14. So are you saying that is the only plausible motivation UM could have to string this out like this? That it took him two months to realize that he didn't want to come back to a high stress job? I would have expected that to have been a gating item rather than something to consider up through getting contract parameters greater than any other coach and generally authority to do whatever the hell he wants with the program. Seems like a backwards way of progressing through the decision. Just wondering how a brilliant mind like yours would have answered the original question instead of trying to reframe the premise as though people are complaining that the scenario I lied out is what I actually think.
  15. You're not much of a reader are you? I don't even believe that. I just responded to someone asking why Meyer could have possibly strung things out. Granted the alternative to thinking why he strung it out when we're offering to pay him 30% more than any other head coach is either (i) it took him 2 months to decide that health problems are serious or (ii) he didn't have a good handle on whether his "team" would follow him to Austin. None of this makes it shit because it all results in the same ending, but jumping up and down on your couch screaming that people is being hysterical is some pretty ironic shit.
  16. I do. If we're starting from the assumption that UM was stringing us along, I would imagine his son in law had a good idea and have been able to use that information to flip Ewers. When things looks semi-positive for us on the UM-hiring, tOSU posters were posting that his son-in-law would be coming and they could say bye bye to Ewers. By stringing it out, it sure as shit doesn't make us look like a preferred destination when this kind of money is rumored and generally turns things into a giant clusterfuck. It's possible that he's legitimately interested and torn, I'm just explaining a possible motive for stringing it along if he wasn't interested. He doesn't owe us anything, so I'm not going to believe that he should have our best interest at heart.
  17. I mean, Ohio State has been raping and pillaging our backyard for 5-star recruits and he's a member of tOSU administration. Him stringing us along is very good for that school and might help with flipping a certain 5-star generational talent QB that would play for his son in law.
  18. Hover over the hook 'em hand at the bottom right of someone's post and pick the one you want.
  19. I haven't the slightest fucking clue what I'm supposed to do with this information. You have two degrees that you don't use professionally? Is that a humble brag or a joke or what? What about this is a shell game?
  20. FCB: Timeline starting to take shape
  21. It's like getting facefucked in the ass, but backwards
  22. No. Employment agreements for key individuals will contain provisions restricting material reductions in responsibility/authority which, if breached, can trigger the employee's right to terminate the contract for cause and collect some sort of pre-determined termination fee (probably all of the remaining money on the contract or the buyout amount in place at that time).
