Well, furk. JSB may yet end up better off than me -- I stupidly took it out without giving it a thorough inspection (hey, the dog was all excited, too), and discovered a huge gash after taking on a bunch of water after about 5 min. Guess I'll be putting Austin Canoe and Kayak customer service to the test. It was fun while it lasted, though.

I'm NotActuallyJSB, but I do like his $99 price tag better than mine, and am also curious to see how his order turns out.

My new ride finally came in. Hoping to take it out this evening -- got home too late last night, so I just idly festooned it with stickers.
  4. Medical exam rooms with HIPAA-violating unrelated patient hard-copy imaging hanging on viewboxes. And the chest x-ray is always fucking hung backwards.
  5. "Jelly-of-the-Month-Club" would have been a better option than the current shit-sammich everyone's getting.
  6. OK, I finally looked at my Grande bill and realized that I'm pissing away over $150/mo on cable that nobody has watched in months, so I need to get this done before football season. While I'd prefer how Youtube TV would integrate with my other Google shit, unless anyone knows about any impending inclusion of LHN, I guess it'll be PSVue. Just to be sure it'll do what I want it to do, for football season I'd like to be able to watch 3-4 different games concurrently (via Chromecasts). I understand that I can have up to 5 streams once I set a home device, so that seems like it should work, correct? Can all of those streams be from one user profile, or would different users have to cast to each TV? Also, if I understand correctly, Youtube TV doesn't count apps (WatchESPN, etc) as a stream - is that the same for PSVue?
  7. It's my understanding that you should be able to claim monies spent on credit monitoring since 7/2017. It only took a minute for me to search my credit card statements and PDF those to upload, so that's something to think about. I won't be shocked if I only get $0.32 out of this in the end, but it's managed to satisfyingly stoke my righteous indignation.
  8. OK, trying this Kviek stuff out for the first time on an AHS Norwegian farmhouse ale. Never had a starter krauesen this much. Kviek evidently responds well to the brewing soundtrack of Viking Death Metal. What fermentation temp have y'all been using? I was thinking somewhere between 85-95 just because I can and it's summer.
  9. How the fuck Equifax is allowed to continue as a going concern instead of being liquidated to fucking oblivion is beyond me. I had seven fucking fraudulent accounts I had to disentangle thanks to these cockmonglers. Fortunately, I kept all my email correspondence , police reports, and notes labeled, so all I had to do was send them as PDFs (with a generously conservative effort of 40 hours of my life down the shitter), as well as documentation of over $600 I've spent on credit monitoring since then. We'll see what comes of it. I've been wanting to add an extra TV to the game room for football season, I guess that's better than nothing.
  10. Took the boys last Spring Break, a few changes but not a whole lot that I noticed. They did gut and totally re-do Farley's, it's more updated and upscale. Food is still good if not exceptional, but had bumped up some in quality. Large beer selection. Hidden Tap was a new place along the main shopping street, and is a good spot. Thoughtful beer selection and the food is good. It's bar food, but it's 'local' or 'craft' or whatever you want to call it, so it's not Sysco burgers and fries. We liked it enough to go a couple times, and I'd recommend it for lunch or dinner if you get dragged out shopping. Log Cabin was awesome again for breakfast, and still probably the best and most reliable place in town that I've found.
  11. Did you say you're on mescaline?

Yeah, unless they have changed manufacturing, I'd be hesitant to drop that much on a Pelican. If you're OK spending that, here's a 12' Pescador on Backcountry.com for under $600. I bought my first yak from them and it was a good experience. They also run steepandcheap.com, and between the two of them you can get some good deals if you're not in a hurry.
  14. I can't say I'm at all aligned with her policies either, but I can say with confidence I won't be voting for Carter. His greatest accomplishment is being the reason the word 'feckless' was coined. A man of destiny, there.
  15. I've nearly given up on politics (I don't think I've ever posted in this forum), but I personally love Amash. I'd love for him to run as a libertarian, as I agree he's head and shoulders above what they usually put forth. I anticipate he'd face some stupid purity tests and grumbling from unrealistic anarchist weirdos, but while he has no chance at winning, he has the best chance of anyone in the past or near future to jump start some support for an actual, viable third party. Whether or not you agree with his politics, I think his WaPo Op-ed is well worth reading, and does a good job of calling out Congress for abdicating its Constitutional responsibilities in favor of predetermined outcomes and Pyrrhic victories.
  16. Uh, what country do you think this is?
  17. But he said we won't get the treasure.... All on account of our ob-stackles.
  18. Fine for Lower Redneckia, but certainly makes me appreciate the attention to a good quality pilsner back home.
  19. Sometimes it's a hard world for the little things.
  20. I have a very sentimental attachment to High Alpine in Gunnison, but I think I can say relatively objectively that their kölsch is on point imo, and that their pizza is outstanding as well (I think I added other spots to the Surly Road Trip map and thread as well). That town is one of my favorite on Earth. The High Mountain liquor store on N Main has a decent regional selection. Don't know CB as well, but the Eldo is fine, and Secret Stash Pizza has a good tap list, good pizza, and an awesome Meat Candy appetizer.
  21. Tip 'o the cap to the marketing intern, imo
  22. Waiting for @LAPD to follow. At low speed.
  23. Word of caution, Chad: you're issuing threats across international borders now, which could be construed as an act of war.
  24. I'll pile on with the Costas on steepandcheap recommendation. Be sure to check their parent site backcountry.com as well, as occasionally they may be even a little cheaper. Also, if you play the credit cards rewards game, both sites offer multiple points/$ on some portals.
