  1. It IS true then that loss matters the same amount as the Florida loss. There is no difference. and wining that game would make very little difference in our ranking as 2 loss team. We’d still have a home playoff game either way. beat OSU and lose to Florida it’s the same thing a drhe reverse. This comitiee has shown you the losses matter. Not the wins. Or even who you play.
  2. Same. Go to 16 and we keep being Texas and playing marquee matchups. if we lose 3 conference and ND, games we really don’t deserve it.
  3. Yes. All of them if the committee is going to treat them as the same losses as Florida. If you get 2 losses max then they should not be scheduling toss up games.
  4. Maybe but it’s not a better resume. Not close actually if you break it down Aggie for us and Georgia for them. We lost to Florida and them to FSU. they beat vandy and so did we. they loss to OU and we beat OU by double digits. They didn’t play OSU on top of all that. our resume is actually better. And I’ll contend if they lose to Georgia, That they should be in danger of falling out with 3 losses.
  5. Who’s saying auto loss? It’s a “potential” loss. No one is scared to play them, there is just not incentive too. And even if you lose to them That doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to make the playoffs for another chance to. and of course you can lose to anyone. But you’re much less likely to lose to Purdue than OSU and thus shouldn’t take that chance.
  6. That And change in scheduling will be impacted by Texas being left out.
  7. Texas with 2 conference losses will always make a 12-16 team playoff. Even with a joke non conference. Their commence schedule will be enough. Look at Aggie. Even if they had 2 losses with a shitty conference schedule they’d be in.
  8. Oh I’ve never disagreed with that. We all wanted to leave but it’s not becuse we wanted the SEC either. but we’re here now. Why make our post harder intentionally when there’s really no benefit? Beating OSU means the same as besting Florida. Both outcomes would have us with a first round home game.
  9. It’s not when we’re talking the future. do you not understand? My argument is we have to change it for the future until they expand the playoffs or account for those games as other then just plain losses.
  10. A four team playoff. We needed that data point. in 2025 we don’t. We just need less losses. Yes don’t lose to Florida but ALSO don’t schedule a potential loss. Not can be true.
  11. You’ve never heard me say the Florida loss is anything other than a. Travesty. but it wouldn’t fucking Matter if we payed Purdue and won instead. and yes we have to consider that. As much as I’d hate it.
  12. The point is we’d be in the playoffs. No matter what with two losses. and we’d be 2-2 be top 10 teams without OSU. And still have the best 2 loss resume. You understand that right? Playing OSU did noting for us.
  13. Which is why it would behoove the committee to take into account those games and the quality of opponents played win or lose. and they aren’t. We should not be behind Utah, BYU, Miami, Vandy, or ND and shouldn’t have been behind Michigan either. Even with 3 losses.
  14. Becuse it’s a fantasy to think that this wont be discussed, won’t be a factor moving forward. Indiana literally jettisoned anyone off their Schedule with a pulse so they never have to worry about a tough loss early. They can survive 2 conference losses. So can we. tech can survive one. I do not want to lose those marquee games. But until the System is fixed and/or expanded, it’s a stupid fucking decision to play those games.
  15. No ifs about making the fucking playoffs. And intentionally making your path harder, when you already have a daunting 9 game SEC conference schedule is not beneficial at all. yes they shouldn’t Los to Florida. No one debates that. But the also shouldn’t play OSU if they get no benefit from it win or lose.
  16. Flip OSU for Purdue and it’s the same fucking thing. both scenarios are true. Yep. And Texas should look at this year and know they are doing themselves a disservice by scheduling potential losses.
  17. I agree. And wish could still be true. and when it goes to 16 teams maybe it will. But in the 12 team playoff era it’s simply counter productive and irresponsible for us to play those game when there is no incentive. I agree, don’t play OSU OR lose to Florida and we’re in. why are you being so dense?
  18. I fucking know. You keep beating the “don’t lose to Florida loss”. we absolute can, and SHOULD change our OOC schedule moving forward. There is NO benefit to playing OSU. None. Beating them means we’re in. Playing someone else easier to beat means we’re in. Losing to either means we’re out. don’t schedule a potential loss giving you no room for error
  19. Dude it doesn’t fucking matter. 2 loss Texas is getting in. It doesn’t matter if you think they can be OSU or Georgia. Making the playoffs and seeing if you can the next time is the point.
  20. Yep. Shouldn’t have Scheduled the 3rd loss. OR loss to Florida.
  21. Yes. Some okay OSU and we’re 100% in. both are true. Sure, and we’ll do in conference(which we did) and in the playoffs. The point to make it first and foremost. We’d be in the playoffs if it was Purdue or rice instead of OSU. That’s what you’re ignoring. The committee literally doesn’t care who you played or beat. Or even who you lost to(see Miami and Utah). Only the number of losses. So don’t go out of horn way to schedule potential losses. Until they expand the playoffs it’s silly to.
  22. I don’t understand why people don’t get this. It’s not who you lost too. They don’t give a shit. Or who you best. only the 0-1-2-3 in the loss column. Florida hurts as much as Georgia and OSU hurt. the simple fact is we shouldn’t play OSU if their is no incentive. Beating them means as much as beating Purdue in the playoff rankings. Not perception, but that’s not how they decide they decide the rankings. Basically. It’ll be 16 teams next year or you’ll see no marquee OOC game in the near future. Of course not. It’s always losses. Easiest way to pretend they had no choice. So don’t play OSU? You don’t need to and there’s no reason to. that’s the bottom line. But it’s factually accurate. That loss hurt us the same exact as the loss to OSU. you act like a 3 point loss to OU or Aggie instead of Florida has us in the playoffs? of course not. They’re out with 3 losses. It is. But it’s not THE reason they’re out. It’s as responsible as Georgia and OSU losses. True. That’s a fucking stupid take. We played 5 top 10 teams in a 12 game schedule. Now of what you said is true. Yes we can do that…and not schedule a potential loss for no damned reason since it doesn’t help us anymore than beating Purdue would. Exactly. We both agree here.
  23. They won’t. But they should. who you okay and beat should matter like in college basketball. if it’s strictly based on losses only then team will do what Indiana did and jettison anyone with a pulse from their schedule.
  24. Only possibly scenerio since 11/12 are for stupid ACC/G5 champs is if Bama loses and they drop them due to 3rd loss. Could make a case that Texas with 3 losses has a better resume than them. And hope they don’t leave 2 loss Miami or BYU above them. But that’s the only chance really. They really gotta get rid of the auto bid
  25. Actually no. If Michigan won that gsmw they’d have not only stayed above us. But jumped into the top 10 blocking us. Even if OU or Bama lost. It was the one thing that had to happen. we needed other things too. just a matter now if they put Texas above Vandy and Utah as they should. Probably won’t get above Miami or BYU until BYU loses and it probably won’t be enough to secure their spot.
