Kinda disappointed but I thought it was the conclusion and I'm less meh now that I know this is just mid-season, which I did not find out until episode 6 ends.
I agree. I have been an atheist since grade school and am also dealing with a terminal cancer diagnosis. You get A LOT of people telling you that they are praying for you. I always just thank them and continue on because I know that's just their way of lending support. In one of the more memorable instances I was on the waitlist for a surgery while admitted to the hospital. I had spent a day in pain and a spot was finally open at like 2am. The next day the nurse that had cared for me the previous day told me he prayed for me that night that I'd be able to get the surgery quickly and relieve the pain. The thoughtfulness and empathy impacted me greatly even though I have no belief of that prayer doing anything.
On my second month back on chemo after a break since September. Got my first '5 minutes into eating lunch' puke session of this go around. It's like being welcomed back by a warm blanket.
Get out and see the world, you will discover that the US is simultaneously not so great and not so bad. This thread should be renamed "rich people problems".
One of the more popular shirts I saw at Chinese t-shirt vendors was Obama in the chairman Mao headshot pose with OBA MAO under it. I really should have bought one.
I believe there has been 9" dildo turd discussions in this thread before. All my experience has been the opposite direction. If you're familiar with concrete terminology I'm usually around a 10" slump.
I was in Beijing and Xi'an earlier this month. The great vs horrific food strikes deep. Great stir fried noodles everywhere, but one evening I was absolutely gassed so I ordered a "pepperoni pizza" from room service. What showed up was revolting. First there was a bowl on the side that I didn't taste but I'm pretty sure was ketchup, no sauce on the pie. The "pepperoni" was what I would describe as slices of bologna with whole peppercorns shoved into it.
Lots of gross stuff out on the street available, but everything else I ate was fantastic.
I've had 3 procedures where the guidewire is inserted into an artery from the groin. The last one the girl in pre-op shaved the pubes and then in the operating room one of the nurses is like "yeah that won't do" and goes to get a new razor. She must have been doing something else at the same time because I laid there for what felt like 10 minutes in a cold OR completely covered by blankets except my d&b on full display and in danger of frostbite.
