  1. How close are any of the injured guys to coming back?
  2. Ja'Quinden Jackson 8-8 passing for 186 yards and 2 TDs 12 carries for 129 yards and 3 TDs Southlake was much improved in this matchup vs last year but had no answer for Ja'Quinden. Chris Thompson III did not play and Southlake actually outgained Duncanville. Quinn Ewers the class of 2022 Southlake QB was 33-52 for 393 yards and 3 TDs.
  3. Final: Southlake Carroll 84 - Lewisville 6. 63-0 at half and they played with a running clock in the 2nd half
  4. North Shore looked like they spent all summer listening to college coaches and the camp circuit tell them how great they are. The body language of their whole team seemed like they were shocked that Katy didn't just quit. Katy whipped their ass in the trenches the entire 2nd half.
  5. So we go into free agency with 2 young studs and $30+ million in cap space to try to surround them with 3 and D guys and all we accomplish is taking the shit from the bottom of the Miami roster to allow Miami to accomplish what they want while we address none of our needs.
  6. Saw this today at the IMAX at Grapevine Mills, Very good documentary commemorating the 50 year anniversary of the 1st manned moon landing. There was a lot of footage I had never seen before. Looking forward to Ramjet's take
  7. made the blues look like they were playing on the 2nd night of a back to back. I can't remember the last time the Stars made a team look like that
  8. Biggest upset in sports history right there. The Russians had absolutely no idea what to do when they lost but just stand there with stunned looks on their faces. Still amazed that they never pulled their goalie
  9. My wife got me this set for Christmas. Looks like a fun build
  10. I have seen a lot of Thompson, Snow and Mickens in person over the last 2 years. I would rank them in that order easily. Thompson - This guy is the ideal Big 12 defender. Don't try to classify him as a particular position. He is best around the LOS. He would be a great spy against QBs who are running threats. He is big enough to set a hard edge against the run game and would cause receivers running short crossing routes to be taking their life in their hands. Snow - Whether he wants to admit it or not he is a future LB wherever he goes. He is over 215 but should be playing at around 205. Another guy who does his best work around the LOS. He is a good kid who can be a good LB but needs to realize that. Mickens - I don't want to bad mouth a high school kid but there is no way he is a top 10 in the state prospect. He played basically a slot corner when he played on defense. Unfortunately for him he is not athletic enough to do that in college at the highest level. Not a big hitter as a middle of the field safety either. He is a good high school player who, as others have mentioned, is a pretty typical Southlake maxed out kid. Did not play a single snap on defense in Southlake's last 2 playoff games
  11. North Shore - Duncanville state champ game replay on FSSW right now. Class of 20 and 21 prospects all over the field for both teams.
  12. Leave it to the Stars to make a back up, journeyman goalie look like a hall of famer. They were playing their best hockey of the year, go on the road a shit the bed getting 3 points out of a possible 10.
  13. I felt like the story got a bit repetitive in some of the early books but overall I have really enjoyed this series as well. The 1st 3 seasons of the BBC/Netflix series have done a good job of adapting the books.
  14. I. Conclusions 65. HORNET did, in spite of admitted deficiencies in machinery arrangement, survive extreme punishment to the hull. The fact that damage from three torpedo hits, four bombs and two plane crashes did not result in sinking Is impressive. Despite such punishment, the hull was still in condition to allow towing from the scene of action if the tactical situation had permitted. In an attempt to sink HORNET, destroyers fired 369 rounds of 5" ammunition into the hull and a number of torpedoes. This still did not result in immediate sinking and HORNET was left "blazing furiously and in a slowly sinking condition". HORNET'S resistance to damage, as well as YORKTOWN's, exceeded reasonable expectations.
  15. Pretty good double feature last night with Lawrence of Arabia and Bridge on the River Kwai on back to back
  16. Workmanlike 2 points for the Stars tonight. There had to be less than 1000 people in that lower bowl seating including the teams' personnel and broadcasters.
  17. Saw it in Southlake and standard is the right choice. I really enjoyed this. Jackson mentioned, in the after credits feature, that he had a lot of air and naval footage but chose to focus on the ground war. I wonder how much interest there would be in additional films about those 2 areas of the war.
  18. Now that was a quality win! Weird ass schedule to play in Nashville on Saturday and then back in Nashville again on Thursday.
  19. We have a 9 year old lab/rottweiler mix. Sweetest and smartest dog we have ever had. Her favorite thing in the world is playing fetch with her ball. Well we were in the back yard last weekend and she was doing her thing and loving every minute of it. After about 15 minutes she starts limping pretty good on her left front leg/foot. We check her out and find a partially split claw and figure that was it and trim it up. Couple of days later she is no better so my wife runs her down to the vet. They immediately get x-rays done saying these breeds are very prone to bone cancer. Results showed no signs of cancer (thank God) but did show arthritis in 2 joints so the vet says no running or jumping for a week and then limit that type of activity going forward. The sad looks on her face when she drops her ball at my feet and I don't pick it up and toss it up the stairs are hard to take.
  20. The Stars need a top 6 scoring forward so of course they acquire a 3rd pairing d-man to replace Mark freaking Methot. The same Mark Methot we traded a 2020 2nd round pick for and who will have played 45 of a possible 164 games when his 2 years in Dallas are up, including a total of 9 this year.
  21. Just the type of speed, possession d-man Montgomery wants to play his style. There seems to be a real disconnect between how Montgomery wants to play and the roster Nill provides for him.
  22. Seems like there was noise about cherry being pissy over not being able get the jersey # he wanted...strong mental eval
