  1. Oh but throughout the Bible (and Jesus Himself) the point is made over and over again that not only is faith without the proof of work dead, but that works without faith is also death. Jesus doesn't treat it as academic. It's foundational to salvation. Since the garden it's always been a matter of the heart.
  2. I was out on Leody last season when he dropped that can of corn against... Detroit? But this error was worse than that.
  3. Yes. Christians who profess they have repented and follow Jesus will show those attributes. But mercy, love, and being a good neighbor without repentance and a desire to live with Jesus as King does not make one a Christian.
  4. Several times Jesus showed compassion and mourned over those who rejected Him. That's how He felt about that. Everyone trying to follow the law falls short. You can do good but it won't save you from the bad you've done. That's why Jesus says He is the fulfillment of the law.
  5. Sure He did. He criticized the ruling elite, especially the religious ruling elite, to the point they were plotting to kill Him in the face of overwhelming popularity amongst the people. They were all about how to live right, what to do, what rules to follow, but their downfall was 1.) they were self righteous and didn't recognize their own need for repentance 2.) they imposed rules on people to the detriment of their worship and faith 3.) they were so blinded by hypocrisy they couldn't recognize when God was physically speaking to them But maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're meaning when you say "how to be a Christian". My point is one can't be a true follower of Christ without evidence of fruit manifest as works. But good works don't make anyone a Christian. I agree.
  6. Other than repentance after acknowledging the work of Christ on the cross and His resurrection there is nothing you can do to be a Christian. Your works will reflect whether your faith is genuine. The Pharisees tried to work their faith out solely through works and Jesus condemned them to hell.
  7. Tell me that's in Austin. The single most perfect food.
  8. first thing i thought of
  9. Obviously the flip side to that is imagine your child's life taken due to someone else's worst mistake.
  10. Stu Holden. He's a figure on the US soccer scene
  11. The first 24 hours of the trade I subscribed to this theory. Thought it was the one that made the most sense. But everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that has come out since then shows it was Nico acting out his hubris and ignorance.
  12. he can hit a slow pitch softball a long ways still.
  13. That's terrible. I feel for everyone going through this. Doesn't sound like there's an acceptable way forward with this current group of administrators. Webb is zoned for Lanier/Navarro or Mac?
  14. Never knew that.
  15. From Levi. Our pitching. 16. they did the bag of glass sketch right? bag of glass aka AD...
  17. A lot of people didn't, just read the first few pages of the nba thread here after the trade. That said, he's the GM of the team. It's his job to know.
  18. Makes me wonder what type of personality Dumont has. From what I've seen I get the impression he's a complete beta. But maybe forcing Nico to do the closed door round table is a hint he's not. I hope he channels that alpha dog in him and shoots Nico into the sun.
  19. Nico basically confirmed he and Luka didn't get along. "I don't worry about getting along with people, I can work with anybody."
  20. "Kyrie is a big plan for our future and that isn't going to change if he opts in or opts out". What? Also I hope someone asks him where Kyrie has been. Because it hasn't been around the team.
  21. As long as divincenzo is playing luka heads up 1v1 he needs to touch the ball every time down that court.
  22. Why Lamar and not Webb or Burnet?
  23. Yes there actually is and it happened in Austin.
