  1. Anyone do any western state public land rifle? I’m getting the itch real bad, but can’t decide if I should try and enter some draws and/or OTC or use a guide. Mulie, elk, antelope it doesn’t matter just looking for an experience. More of wide open, up and down ridges, spot and stalk type hunt. Start with out of state bird or whitetail hunt in 19-20 then branch out?
  2. My boys at IronRoot won another world whiskey award (have no idea on the legitimacy of these various competitions and trade group deals). Hubris is still pretty damn hot as you’d expect from a young corn whiskey, but looking forward to what they can do once they have some barrels with some good age on them. Come on 2027
  3. Yeah you can always tell who’s been doing it everyday for years and who decides that damn it today is the day they back the Suburban in at HEB even if it takes 20 corrective j-turns. Typically, it isn’t a hand in his white work truck. Call me big daddy when you back dat ass up.
  4. Yes. It runs down Rusk right by the convention center, but that’s green or purple line I forget. Stadium is redline so you’ll have to swap platforms at the central station.
  5. After reviewing numerous parishes I think I only recognize 2 names. Attended mass at a lot of different small town parishes in the panhandle over the years. What’s kind of frightening is the numerous assignments for the Amarillo Diocese or getting shuffled in and out to different dioceses, I hope that’s a function of the size/geography/rural-ness of the Panhandle and not a case of the Bishop trying to shuffle and hide a pederast. Houston-Galveston has some transfers but it looks like once they were in the diocese they generally stayed there.
  6. The problem is each bishop/diocese did their own format on their own site. So for Beaumont the Bishop didn’t give any assignment info. He’d have to know the names of each of the attending priest and resident clergy for the parish from 1950 to present to know if he was around that parish. Amarillo Diocese listed the parishes and assignments for each in chronological order, but only indicates when or where the allegations occurred for a few. (David Holley is now rotting in hell, but bonus points to the Diocese for noting that he was sentenced to 275 years! in prison in Alamogordo, sounds like a real Shepard of Christ’s flock) Austin has assignment info, but in a separate tab. Houston-Galveston has assignment info in a drop down, so you can recognize a name, or open them all and search for parishes you attended.
  7. A nice Florin red with a sprinkle of iocane powder.
  8. This. Wearing a status symbol and getting jacked for it is nothing new, but Parliament thread so... Luckily my status symbol jacket will never go out style.
  9. 34. 26 foam letter blocks +8 misc plastic toys. When I’m on bath duty and the little one hasn’t had an evening assplode she’s in and out of there in 90 secs. I reminded her twice and she returns the favor by letting it happen and dumping the damn ABCs in the tub. Sigh.
  10. I have the same relationship with Jim’s Krispy in Mexia. Had it maybe a dozen times, always Sunday morning coming down. Sometimes top 3 sometimes forgettable greasy hangover slop.
  11. Nice to know another swimmer with a strong Username. Closest drop in price I could find by the new house was $8/swim. So makes since to stay with the city wide Y membership. /expense talk. Pool locker room entrance exit makes you walk through the shower. Shower is narrow with 4 spigots on either wall. So I put on my business casual extra pleated dockers with the wide ballon seat construction. Dodge old man ass overspray in flip flops then make it to my truck to wipe off my feet and put on socks and boots for the day. Inconvenient thing that’s starting to become a real pet peeve. “Why don’t you park at the regular entrance and walk lazy ass, you’re there to workout?” Pool opens at 5 gym at 5:30.
  12. EIA 2019 report is up on the website if you care to look. Forecasting $61 Brent will be average and $65 by mid 2020 FWIW. Their notes. “Key takeaways from the Reference case include: The United States becomes a net energy exporter in 2020 and remains so throughout the projection period as a result of large increases in crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas plant liquids (NGPL) production coupled with slow growth in U.S. energy consumption. Of the fossil fuels, natural gas and NGPLs have the highest production growth, and NGPLs account for almost one-third of cumulative U.S. liquids production during the projection period. Natural gas prices remain comparatively low based on historical prices during the projection period, leading to increased use of this fuel across end-use sectors and increased liquefied natural gas exports. The power sector experiences a notable shift in fuels used to generate electricity, driven in part by historically low natural gas prices. Increased natural gas-fired electricity generation; larger shares of intermittent renewables; and additional retirements of less economic coal and nuclear plants occur during the projection period. Increasing energy efficiency across end-use sectors keeps U.S. energy consumption relatively flat, even as the U.S. economy continues to expand.”
  13. You decide to do a rear shock upgrade or front spacer for the sag? Or let it ride?
  14. Was going to post in wife thread, but think it’s more appropriate here, because Dad failed to dodge the train twice. I had some TPS reports (with cover sheets) due this morning. I send the text out yesterday afternoon when it became apparent I wasted too much time on Surly. “Got ~90 mins of work left. Stay late or work from home?” Come home. Got it, commuting home. Drink a frustration drink about my poor time management skills, have dinner, play with kids. 7:30 bath time, mom’s on duty. Fire up the laptop. 7:35 - I shout upstairs “[1 year old ] has poo’d the bath a lot recently. I’d take her out.” Yeah, she knows. 7:40 - Gleeful splashing - “Little one out? you need help?” 7:45 - soaking wet 3 yr old with shampoo in hair shouts from middle of carpeted stairs “Mom says Come quick! We need your help!” Guess how many bath toys Dad sterilized - O/U is 5.
  15. Which poster on TOS came in and posted a damn dissertation on chain fried chicken joints? Ate fried chicken for lunch 3-4 times a week for years, iirc. Ranked them. Description including spicy vs original, notable sides, and biscuits. Such in such has a 2 piece combo on Tuesday. I remember being just floored.
  16. That’s it! Dibs. Typing up my resignation letter now. Going to develop the Estacado .3xx Auger a wildcat from a .375 H&H parent. See y’all in the funny papers.
  17. We did a poll amongst old co-workers years ago, but now I’m failing to remember the results. I do remember the day I left discount I thought the Terra were louder at low speed, but about the same over 45. I’m satisfied enough with the price point that it’ll take some impressive reviews to get me back to KO2s
  18. Chick-fil-a in the stadium will be closed.
  19. After lifelong KO2 commitment. You and the crew have me running on Nittos. They do seem to wear a lot more even for me which means more miles. Cajun, I’d have to do some digging, but I think I have before and after leveling pics on my ‘10 F150 with the stock tires and then with 285 BFGs.
  20. Dumb question amnesty on the cold beer laws: Is that old blue law stuff? MADD thing to try and prevent roadies? Industry lobby? That was always curious to me. “You can’t buy them all times of the day, but when you’re ready, we’ve got two Icehouse tallboys for $3. Ready with brown paper bags so you can half-ass discreetly get them out the door and behind the wheel.”
  21. Mike’s son, on the 83 CWS team. He was/is tight with the Rocket. Connor played for 7 Lakes (Katy). Quick google looks like he went straight to minor league ball.
