  1. guys who constantly replay their latest golf round/poker game in excruciating detail. Same for their fantasy team. As far as vocal fry: Just for fun on the beard as personality post above. Loudermilk solved all kinds of problems.
  2. I can never remember the numbers for Gretsch guitars. Had to look it up. It is the Streamliner (cheapest of their lines) but it doesn't have that on the on the truss rod cover. They went a little overboard with the name on this one, even after the numbers. Sticker says Made in Indonesia. Gretsch G2215-P90 Streamliner Junior Jet Club Weighs 8 lbs. I mentioned the nut was smaller than my other guitars, but apparently it is the same as my big hollowbody Gretsch and actually a bit bigger than my tele. I guess the skinnier neck makes if feel smaller. I can't get over how good the P90 in the neck sounds.
  3. That filter-tron is going to be replaced. Probably with a TV Jones. It is significantly weaker than the glorious P90 neck pickup. I LOVE that neck pickup and it still sounds really nice in the middle position. But weak. I'll also probably replace that bridge with an adjustment wrap around at some point. The thing is really well built. Nut width is smaller than my other guitars but I really like the neck. Best word to describe the overall guitar is smooth. Extremely happy with it.
  4. Yep. I played a used one recently but for $80 more I got a new one (for $400) and in a color I liked a lot better.
  5. Candy arrived. From the pictures, I thought the paint was flat, but it has sparkles. Really beautiful. Haven't plugged it in yet but really happy with the build. I LOVE the color. Sparkles aren't over powering but a cool look. Perfectly set up, frets are smooth, really happy with the quality. Can't wait to plug it in.
  6. Yep. Georgia's growth in the film industry is all because of the tax cuts. Pretty much killed the film industry in Louisiana. In one interview I read, they asked Taylor Sheridan why he didn't film "Hell or High Water" in Texas. He said he wanted to but it was much cheaper to film it in NM.
  7. Maybe @Budkudzu wife can it on Target dot com. Fingers crossed.
  8. Also, Evan just doesn't have the 'front man' presence like Isbell or Rhett Miller. Just not in him.....but to see him on stage with Isbell, doing that song. Plus, those verses probably just aren't in his range. I loved it, especially watching Isbell and Sadler just be rock guitarists for a bit.
  9. Found it. Been hearing this song on The Range out of Ft. Worth/Jacksboro....wherever it is based.
  10. Tell her she needs to see if the door is strong enough to keep the dogs from accidentally getting out. Lock her in. Go have a beer or three. Come back later and ask if it held. Then test it with the dog and see who is happiest to see you when you let them out. Keep the happy one, ditch the other one.
  11. Sweetwater is sending me at least two packages of candy. I also had them throw in a Katana 50 watt demo model. And what good is an amp without a guitar. If I'm going to be stuck in Young Co. Texas for an unknown period of time, might as well have a new toy to spend some time with. The new Katana has a foot switch to switch between the channels so that should be fun. I actually just bought it to use as a practice amp for my pedal steel when I get home, but then I pondered the idea of having an amp with no guitar out here. That was just silly.
  12. I love that you have joined us to tell of your tales of woe. Carry on.
  13. At least once a week: Her: Guess who I saw at the store? Me: Wayne Cranford Her: You always say that. Me: That's my guess.
  14. Exactly. I get this all the time. Her: Computer is slow Me: Close about 84 of those open browser tabs. Also, about 28 of those open Outlook tabs. Her: That doesn't matter Me: Actually it does. Her: You don't know that. Me: Actually I do.
  15. A buddy of mine has a young teenage son who is starting to 'revolt'. He stormed in the other day and declared, "I'm getting my ear pierced!" By buddy told him, "Ear piercing? Really? If you want to shock me, you are going to have to come back home looking like Post Malone, or a SoundCloud rapper."
  16. Just watched his Rig Rundown. He has an old 1945 Martin that belonged to Jody Payne. He showed it to Mickey at Willie's 90th and Mickey pulled out a container from his harmonica case and sprinkled some of Jody's ashes in the guitar. https://www.jambase.com/article/billy-strings-guitar-rig-rundown-video-2023
  17. Yep. Sam Gibbs. I bought my first 'real' guitar and a Super Reverb there in 1978. I'll have to go check out Hayley's. I just saw that on the www but the pictures were old. Thanks for the input. At least P2 is still open.
  18. I grew near Wichita Falls and am back in the area dealing with elderly parents so I went to the only guitar shop still open in WF. They used to carry a lot of great guitars. Now, all bottom of the line PRS and Squires for electrics and Seagulls and lower Taylors. They had one Princeton Tone Master for $1,100. It appears they mostly cater to high school orchestras and bands. In the late 70/early 80s, there was another shop called McCarty's. It was fantastic. In fact, Bill Welker who owns South Austin Music used to work there before he moved to Austin and bought that shop. It closed a long time ago. I drove to Ft. Worth, looking to play a J45 and some various electrics. I refuse to step foot into a GC, so the best store I found was a Music Go Round. I went to Zoo Music...holy fuck...what a warehouse of shit. Not a price on anything. No amps were plugged in. NOTHING has a price on it. You had to go talk to the surly fucker to drag any information out of him. I know these places have taken a beating from the on-line stuff and GC. Makes me sad that the small shops don't exist any longer.
  19. Has she put the fan on HIGH as well?
