Yep. She has been touring with him for awhile.- Wives and the Stupid Shit They Say/Do
Are you dudes on 'ludes?- Anyone watching the Willie 90th birthday show?
I missed seeing Charley Crockett dammit.- Anyone watching the Willie 90th birthday show?
Who is the guitarist in that backing band. Not Tom Bukovac but the strat player. I've seen him in several shows when Don Was was the music coordinator but no idea who it is. Only bad thing about Willie's show was it was done in LA and all of the Hollywood types announcing acts. Did see Neuheisel in the crowd. I recorded the last hour so hopefully, they will at least list the credits of the band. Also, I was watching that shit show CMA Country Christmas and Harmoni Kelley was playing bass in that band. So happy for her. Assholes didn't run the credits at the end or introduce the band.- The Guitar Pron Thread
I have two Gretsch guitars and I love them both. One is like that red one but with a P90 in the neck and filtertron in the bridge. I'm going to replace that bridge with a better version, but I only play that neck P90 and LOVE it. I also have one of the big hollow body guitars. Completely different that anything else I own and what it does, it does perfectly. I can' never the model numbers but I really like both of these.- Two Cool Rock Stars: Grohl & Norah
I've posted about this podcast that Norah Jones does. Every episode is fantastic but the interaction between these two and the music they make. Very enjoyable listen.- The Guitar Pron Thread
Holy shit. The Estonian. I'm surprised he is still alive.- Live From the Underground: A History of College Radio
I grew up on George Gimarc. My brother had a show at WT in the mid 80s called The Bottom Forty. A buddy then had a magazine by the same name and now he has a podcast, still called The Bottom Forty. He calls it Non-denominational Radio https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/the-bottom-forty-greg-glover-OZ0l-gTebno/- Live From the Underground: A History of College Radio
This is going to be right in my wheelhouse. Thanks for posting.- "Immediate Family"
Was reading about this yesterday and about to post about it. Can't wait to see this. I read somewhere the number of their combined recording credits. I'll see if I can find it.- Wives and the Stupid Shit They Say/Do
One can also age scotch the same way.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
Found it. Emily King.- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff
Any idea who the brunette singer is in the Pancho & Lefty cover?- Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Other Good Stuff

Here is the Punch Brothers part. Chris Thile is so good. What a talent.- The Guitar Pron Thread
Kevin McKinney amazes me. I saw him once with Bob Schneider. His guitar work, as usual, was flawless. Bob, as usual, did bunch of new songs right off the bat and Kevin didn't miss a thing. Brand new material that hadn't been released yet, and Kevin didn't play on, and he nailed it all. I'm pretty sure he didn't play on any of the recordings. I have a live recording of that show and Kevin does an extended solo that almost sent me to my knees. What a talent.- The Guitar Pron Thread
I forgot Ricky was in that later rendition when Albert Lee joined. I always wondered about their connection with that song, "Country Boy At Heart". I knew it was a Skaggs song, but Albert does a killer version. The studio version is on his 1979-80 album.- The Guitar Pron Thread
And if you EVER find this album....grab it. Albert's one 'vocal' album and it is incredible. His version of Sweet Little Lisa.- The Guitar Pron Thread
Ah....the Hot Band. I know I've posted this multiple times....but it never gets old for me. And to watch all of those other rock legends and Huey Lewis watch him....and Nick Lowe's reaction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1Rx-zaBjow- The Guitar Pron Thread
More Spyboy goodness with Julie Miller, who wrote the song. Julie and Emmylou's vocals together just kill me every time I hear them. It's a shame Julie is so sick now.- The Guitar Pron Thread
Brady had quit playing professionally until Emmylou and Steve Earle convinced him to tour with each of them. I was waiting in line to get in to see Spyboy and Brady came cruising down the sidewalk. This venue is in a part of Atlanta with a ton of homeless people and trust fund 'artists' and jam band fans. Brady was carrying a plastic grocery bag and resembling Crackhead Clevon Little. He was starting to grow dreads and he was dressed like he had been on a bus all day....or under a bridge. I noticed people trying not to make eye contact with this 'homeless beggar' about to hit up everyone in line for some money. I walked towards him and shook his hand and he spoke to me for about 3 minutes then continued down the street. Got back in line and it was deathly quiet. I wonder if anyone recognized him when he went on stage.- The Guitar Pron Thread
Found this picture on the Swart site. That is his living room where he records the majority of this stuff. He was in his 40s before he started getting the credit he deserved, thanks mostly to Emmylou and Steve Earle.- The Guitar Pron Thread
I have been a HUGE Buddy Miller fan since the late 90s. Dude is a PHENOMINAL guitar player, GREAT country singer, songwriter, producer and all around great guy. I've been lucky to him with Emmylou, Steve Earle, Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, Patty Griffin, solo and with Julie. This article goes in to a lot about his gear which I thought this crowd would enjoy. Especially his $50 Wondre guitars. In the article, he talks about not playing fast as much anymore. https://www.premierguitar.com/nashvilles-buddy-miller Here is what he sounded like in 1996. I was lucky enough to see this incarnation of Spyboy.....maybe the greatest trio ever assembled. A balls-to-the-wall, full on rock-n-roll band.
