  1. Between arch's run threat, the more physical interior oline and Chad Scott+Neal Brown (and what they did at wvu), it seems extremely likely our run game will be much improved.
  2. Again - just my belief, since sark and co have been so aggressive fixing perceived weak spots (backup qb with game experience!) in the portal and by and large have hit there.... that he and flood think they have a winning line in front of arch... either that, or this is the last year of the "flood doesn't do portal" policy....
  3. Orphey over Joseph feels like a high chance of upgrade. Sark hasn't missed yet in getting good developmental coaches. Which is why I am also bullish on Chad Scott.
  4. While there were more check downs with quinn, the int rate didn't seem particularly low. 12 int in 14 games. Almost an int/game. If we get a similar rate but more explosive passing, things may not be so bad... Also deeper ints mean hopefully fewer pick sixes.
  5. A couple of questions I have: It has been implied that the signing day is no longer binding (in that it ever was). If recruits ink NIL deals prior, how easily can they get out of it/be flipped assuming they are willing/eager?n presumably these deals will also make it harder for say a Mark Bowman to get out of it, Riley or not? And can they sign anything before they enroll, of course?
  6. No sunshine..already looks like a winner..
  7. Heard on OTF this morning that even grad transfers must be in the portal per new rules in order to switch... true? does this mean we postpone our stud incoming wr dreams to the next portal window?
  8. Time for thread title change: Texas off-season 2025- die in a fyre
  9. What about Will Randle? Nary a peep about him given otf does 5 shows per day.. is he part of Arch's nil?
  10. I hope Quinn has a hall of fame career in the league, but one of the bright spots when he finally calls it a day will be this thread not remaining on page 1.
  11. Manny will probably declare no? And brad spence may stay back if he can feature more without hill
  12. Did Quinn portal to this thread? Wonderful!
  13. While we are talking big names with no worry about fit or desire on their part, why not ed reed?
  14. Not to go on and on especially given our amazing defense this year, but has been a pet peeve of mine... Have our DBs ever turned around to look at the ball under this staff?
  15. Yep happened in a couple of games earlier as well this season, incl. a wide open dropped long ball if I recall... I just don't think we have been tested this year...
  16. I was annoyed he didn't turn around when the ball was in the air on even one of those catches...
  17. Yep saw that in the link I added. He's had a year or two to compare Baker with his current coach...
  18. Kenny Baker recruit? Edited to add old note found on the interwebs https://wku.rivals.com/news/wku-lands-juco-dl-transfer-hosea-wheeler
  19. Harbaugh probably got an inkling of this, and was upset enough to leave the college ranks!
  20. Not too concerned about the energetic and connecting with the yutes part, it's when Dad or an uncle (always an uncle) or even the recruit themselves compare Bakers resume against other D-line coaches that concerns me. We just lost the guy that already has a few DT's in the NFL and possibly two first rounders this upcoming draft...but he's using that to recruit to swamp tigah now. If he's all that ("sources" giving him part credit for the dolphins dts) and alfred collins and co hold up to the run and get a bunch of sacks from the interior .... recruiting should get easier in the fall....
  21. I for one feel this board has the right combo of skepticism and homerism..... I was always in 'trust the coaches' and very hopeful of Gilbert/Maddox and Shawn watson and warehime/meh etc... and you realize even with all the resoucea of a big univ.. if the head coach is not objective and can't bring available resources to bear.... then what you see is what you get.... Tldr... Like most others have said here, no leading indicators of sure success... But so far, sark has had a much higher batting average than his past 2 predecessors... Like the Dr pepper commercial am probably going to be cursing - in delight or anger - after our first 2-3 defensive eries against Colorado state....
