  1. looped into the kitchen for a wine refill and noticed no one had done the dishes after the steak dinner I cooked. figured the least I could do to help out was clean the plate I brought the meat in from the grill on. back to work.
  2. maybe it's some California Ghost Reaper sauce and that's all a human can take.
  3. this is actually a more reasonable suggestion than you might think, considering he TWICE hung around for her to take a dump to then kiss her goodbye, on the last page of this thread. it was framed as a complaint, but I'll bet there were some yada-yada-yas in there. and now they're in Germany. OOMPAH!
  4. 'tis indeed the season for night riding. keep your head up and be careful of fallen trees lurking in the dark, kids. the shadows can play tricks on you.
  5. buncha nerds consumer electronics snobs up in here. -------- wife came home to make meatballs and spaghetti. ever the great project starter, I get to finish it up, including the plating. here you are, dear
  6. 16-27mph winds today on Buchanan (allegedly). Strava says I got up to 9.5mph. but it also says I gain 48' of elevation. I turned it on on the beach. got a little hairy, at times.
  7. been wanting to watch Star Trek II again, so picked up the dvd, this week. decided to watch it with the fam tonight, none of whom have more than a vague familiarity with the original tv series. fine. opening credits are rolling, naming all the major cast members, wife laughing at "DEEforest" Kelley. oh, boy. gonna be one of those nights. whatever. Chekov and Terrell are captured on the Botany Bay. "Khan" starts taking off his mask and whatnot. wife: is that Rod Stewart? me: ...
  8. I'll be 52 next month. I'm riding faster now than I did 10 years ago, especially downhill, but that has as much to do with the bike as anything. I do Strava occasionally, just to check mileage on new loops and see where I am on repeat rides. but you can usually rationalize the differences. a work call stoppage, or a rock slip here or there can add just enough time to put you behind the pace. watch for trends is all you can do. but shit's breaking down. about every morning, I have to pop my SI joint back into place. my 'good' knee I had scoped about 12 years ago has loosened up again, so getting up off the floor from said stretches is an adventure. arthritis in both feet, so switching to hiking is out. eh, whatever. gonna enjoy it while I can.
  9. Rebel? Gatti's buffet in the same shopping center was our goto around there. occasionally hit The Pit bbq, a block or so up Congress, but it usually took too long, and we would have to stop and grab donuts for the class on our way back. we did 99cent hamburgers on Riverside for a while, until one us unwrapped a burger from his bag-o' with a bite already taken. probably the favorite was to haul ass down to Ben White and hit Taco Cabana, back when it was all the rage.
  10. some footage from a couple months ago, but mostly today. same trail network. today was one of those super-humid days where some of the rocks were sweating. made it fun. enjoy.
  11. almost had to surrender my man card. been so busy with work I had a package of bacon expire a week ago, as it turns out. plastic was still tight, so I threw it in the oven today with nothing to lose. my happy place
  12. Dude, cyberlover is the preferred nomenclature.
  13. Stay out of the path of the ragin' black stallionAnd don't lay a hand on the face
  14. he talked for 45 minutes, and nobody understood a word that he said, but we had fun fillin' out the forms and playing with the pencils on the bench, there...
