  1. I haven't watched this kid's film, but I hope to see he never gives up on a play, has another gear, and plays to the whistle. And I hope the film is titled "Hustlin' Flowe."
  2. Best wishes to the young lady, although I have to admit I'm somewhat disappointed she wasn't revealed to be the former Mrs. Hamm.
  3. I did the same over the holidays. If you have Hulu, season 3 got added there on 1/1.
  4. I was curious too, and as best I can tell, it was this double from April 9, 2013.
  5. "But social media's a kind of media! It's right there in the name!" - Hamm pleads his case to get his credentials back when they get revoked.
  6. Ken Giles lets out a triumphant roar after getting the K to lock down the save vs the Fresno Grizzlies. Meanwhile, the Astros head to the locker room to celebrate the division championship.
  7. "I cannot tell a lie. I did not get consent before popping the cherry tree." - George Washington
  8. "My name is already Selma Bouvier Terwilliger Hutz McClure. God knows it's long enough without Nehassapassapena-whatever. From now on I'm marrying for love... and once again for money."
  9. If I remember the bit correctly, I think the guy exposed his own asshole. And the proceeded to try to ram it into things.
  10. Is the uncle former Houston Oiler John Henry Mills? I remember seeing him post some pics from Rian Davis' OV to Austin, and his Twitter activity has him retweeting a bunch of stuff about Davis and Clear Lake Falcons football. Looks like he's currently coaching at Clear Lake. https://twitter.com/JhSkillsMills
  11. A buddy of mine did a write-up about on Melton and had him as one of the most underrated prospects in the draft. As he notes in the post, he had Donovan Mitchell pegged as one of the most underrated last year (although he also had Chinanu Onuaku on his list). http://www.roundballreasons.com/five-underrated-nba-draft-prospects/ De’Anthony Melton (USC) – 20.0 years old, 6’3.25” 193 pounds, 6’8.5” wingspan Optimistic Comp: cross between Nate McMillan and Jrue Holiday Position: Perimeter Defender + Distributor Consensus Rank: Late First Round / Early Second Round My Rank: Late Lottery Melton’s primary value initially will come on the defensive end. He’s a tenacious on-ball defender with lightning-quick hands, physicality and exceptional lateral movement that should make him among the best defenders of point guards and shooting guards alike. He led the Pac-12 in both steals and steal percentage as a freshman. He also has tremendous instincts and timing as a help defender, resulting in not only steals but also a number of highlight-worthy blocks that you typically don’t see from a player of his size. Melton’s not a high-flyer on the level of the next underrated prospect on this list, though he gets off the ground quickly and goes after the ball aggressively. He averaged 1.5 blocks per 40 minutes at USC. Though Melton currently lacks a point guard’s handle, his court vision is outstanding. He uses it to great effect in transition, particularly as he turns defense into offense after forcing a turnover (clip 1 below). His vision also gives him a significant amount of upside as a pick-and-roll ball handler if he can convince defenders to respect his jumper or his drives to the rim (clip 2). Major questions are whether he can shoot (28.4% 3s, 70.6% FT at USC), whether he’s big enough to be a truly difference-making defender at the next level (6’8.5″ wingspan), and whether he can develop his handle enough to run point. In response to the first question, I think Melton can become at least a decent jumpshooter. Plenty of prospects, including guards, shoot like that their freshman year and become capable 3-point threats in the pros—Mike Conley and Jrue Holiday to name a couple. It’s possible that Melton’s already much improved in that area following his extended absence this season. He calmly drained a few catch-and-shoot 3s in the combine scrimmages while flashing smooth pull-up and turnaround jumpers as well. But even if that part of his game remains mediocre he should still be useful. I see him potentially as a cross between Nate McMillan and Holiday because I think those two players represent the poles of a continuum of favorable outcomes for Melton. If he’s effectively a fifth option as a scorer but his defense and distribution skills translate, that’s McMillan. If his shot becomes a weapon, then he could take on a high-usage role like Holiday and expend a bit less energy defensively. Anywhere on that continuum lies a good NBA player.
  12. Counterpoint: The A's were above .500 before the Astros came to town.
  13. Is Bama really pushing hard for Wydermyer, or is he only listed so Looch can chalk up a win for purposes of his "you win some, you lose some" thesis?
  14. Should have rolled with it. I assumed the posts were in reference to the Correa bomb, Gattis RBI, and Marwin RBI in quick succession.
  15. I assume he's one of the two 2020 kids that Mpagi said were waiting for offers.
  16. Is Footwork wearing a Vernon Maxwell jersey, Bryce Drew jersey, or Yao Ming jersey?
  17. That beard looks more like Mark Henry's influence, not Yancy's.
  18. Anyone catch Chris Paul's comment about how he and Tucker "were supposed to go to college together, but that's neither here nor there"?
  19. The Astros World Series run had so many great memories and so many heroes with clutch hits off of seemingly invincible closers that some great moments get forgotten. Like Reddick's hit off of Kimbrel in ALDS Game 4. Underrated highlight from last year. https://streamable.com/cm7j6 https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-eighth-pitch-to-josh-reddick/
  20. I'm more excited about the 162 infield hit pace for McCann despite being the slowest man in MLB last year. Adding a new dimension to his game.
