  1. \ ETA: MIA beat me to it.
  2. I miss the Lakewood Matt's. My kids grew up in that place with Matt (Austin Matt Martinez's son and the one who "invented" the Bob Armstrong dip) always coming by and spending time with them. His son kinda ran the Lakewood location into the ground and now only has the Allen location anymore (I think there was a location out by Lake Ray Hubbard for a time but I could be confusing it with another local restaurant that expanded beyond its capabilities). The food was never outstanding but was always decent.

    Dallas | Burgers

Had lunch there today. They finally got rid of the stupid pool table in the middle of the dining room. Food was good, but our waiter was not very attentive.

    Task (HBO)

And of course the key point in that discussion being to make the decision that's best for the boy, not for Tom.
  10. There's a horse running loose in the hospital.
  11. It's a horse. In a hospital.
  12. This is fucking infuriating. Feds revoke Dallas activist’s DACA status, detain him over social media posts Jacob “Yaa’kub” Ira Vijandre came to the U.S. at age 14 with his father, who had a work visa for a job as an aircraft mechanic. He later obtained legal residency status through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, and has lived in North Texas since 2022. The life he has built in Dallas is now in jeopardy, his lawyers said, because he exercised his First Amendment right to free speech. Vijandre’s DACA status was revoked last month over social media posts the government contends advocated for terrorism. Can’t post link for some reason
  13. Yep. It was aired several months back too up here in Dallas when Trump first announced them.
  14. True but there are a large number (perhaps as many as 1-5K) that go to the fair and watch on one of the big screens in the park (by the Magnolia Beer Garden, e.g., and the other one on the other side of the lagoon).
  15. Didn't we also declare tariffs on Canada for their mass imports of fentanyl?
  16. Add it to the pile of all the shit flooding the zone.
