I’m happy for him and all but Portnoy is a colossal DB.
  2. There must be some kind of mistake.
  3. High tide! Looks like it's moved in quite a bit since the last time I checked on that one a couple of hours ago.
  4. Have we located a blue shed yet for this storm?

I think the only issue is how crowded the trains will be. On game days they get completely packed as you get closer to downtown and getting on at a station close to Fair Park can be a challenge. I imagine Friday will heavy traffic on the trains but likely manageable. If the train you're getting on at Park Central (635 & 75) is the same line that runs to Fair Park entrance (I think it's the Green line but that's just from fuzzy memory) you'll probably be fine on the way in, but you may have to wait a train or two before you can get on leaving. They run around every 5 minutes during the Fair if I recall correctly, but I imagine DART has schedules posted you can check on the website. If you download the DART app you can purchase your train tickets (electronic ticket on your phone) in advance.
  6. Dammit. ETA: Uncle and his family bugged out of Bradenton yesterday to stay with friends in Orlando. Hope everyone else there does something similar.

We went a week ago (Tuesday evening) and grabbed one near the Crazy Mouse. No line, and the lady working made both of them fresh dipped and fried in front of us. Easily the best corny dog I’ve ever had. /csb

  9. This. Andrew hit on August 24. We didn’t get power back at the house until the first week of October. Downtown Miami was without water for over a week.
  10. Spent lots of time at Holmes Beach on Anna Maria growing up. Grandad was the episcopal priest there. Forever it was a sleepy little beach town with all of the money in Sarasota. Uncle still lives in Bradenton. I am hoping he and his family bug out.
  11. Does turning on the "local awareness" help prevent irrelevant alerts?
  12. I grew up in Miami, was there for Andrew, and still have family there. I have no desire to retire there for numerous reasons (storm risk and clean up among them), and had thought hard about a move to....western NC to avoid all of that.
  13. Dr. D? Ernie ______ (can’t remember his last name). I had him too. Also drew Captain Hook (“C is a fine grade. It means completely satisfactory”) Professor Quarles. (Go Gata)
  14. I caught the last month of it.

  17. Csb my mom was born there.
  18. Just tuned in for the closing statements after another episode of Slow Horses. I’ve got nothing to add other than Nora and Margaret could get it.
