  1. 100% this in my house. We'll be driving 20 miles away and the gauge says "100 Miles to Empty" and my wife will insist we should fill up right now.
  2. Ferentz did almost kill a bunch of his players in workouts about 15 years ago, then named the S&C coach his assistant of the year. When Brian Ferentz played for Iowa, he got to live in low income housing despite his father being the highest paid state employee. Kirk’s no pedo, but he’s done some fairly morally questionable shit in his tenure that never really drew a lot of fire because he maintains such an “aw shucks” persona.
  3. Hopefully McCollum keeps focused on making a big run with Drake, before sewing up the Indiana job. Fuck Mizzou.
  4. WVU is probably a better hoops job than Iowa, honestly. Iowa's really stingy about NIL for some reason - especially MBB. Plus, they're so far behind us over the last 25 years in terms of actual results, fan support, and NBA development that it's basically 2nd fiddle in a small population state (despite being the generally more popular athletic department). Maybe DeVries will reignite their passion and they'll do something with that program, but they were awfully content to let McCaffery linger at just barely above average for 15 years. The Big 10 is an easier league too. I do think DeVries will do pretty good there, but I don't see him catching Otz.
  5. A lot of people here think it's a done deal. His brother is Hawkeye royalty, and he was at Drake for 5 years prior to WVU. Both he and his wife are Iowa natives.
  6. Without any real natties
  7. You’re absolutely spot on. They’re low key delusional. It’s not a cult like Aggy, but they just really don’t understand their place in the grand scheme of things at all.
  8. You’d think by now we would all be inured to Midwest weather by now, but it never ceases to amaze
  9. The dust carried all the way up here. It was raining dirt at my in laws place Friday night
  10. We hit 78 Friday. Its 21 now.
  11. I do think I prefer the divorce songs to the love songs, in general. Although "Ride to Roberts" and "Wind Behind the Rain" are both pretty great. The love songs aren't bad by any stretch, but IMO it's never been his biggest strength as a writer ("Cover Me Up" and "Goddamn Lonely Love" being notable exceptions). "Bury Me" really stands out as wholly unrelated to anything else. He's definitely in a high point of his career lately. As is well documented in this thread, I wasn't a fan of much post Southeastern stuff until Weathervanes. But damn, he's been writing some of his best songs recently.
  12. Nobody hates teams that they beat.
  13. I’m gonna be honest - I fucking hate your squad. Thats a compliment, too.
  14. They said it's a precaution. I wouldn't be shocked if we rolled with the same line up in round 1, assuming we get away with it.
  15. It was our best win, and along with almost beating Auburn, maybe the best showcase of the teams we can beat/environments we can win in when healthy. You would beat us at any point since the Momcilovic injury.
  16. Gilbert and Lipsey were both out the entire game. Arizona and BYU (regular season) are the only games Gilbert has played significant minutes in in the past month. Momcilovic was out for awhile too. That Arizona game a couple Saturdays ago is the only game we've played with our full compliment since late January I wanna say. Shortly after we beat you guys.
  17. You realize we were without our entire starting back court right?
  18. Aggy probably provides enough TV value that they would be taking a major pay cut in that scenario. But given their NIL power, I'd think they would be far more likely to reach the playoffs by changing leagues.
  19. Given our injury situation, I like this move. Make up the inventory by scheduling a few more marquee non-con games that are spread around more and give you the same high end inventory with less grind.
  20. 3 days in, and my mind is kind of broken and it feels normal now.
  21. We're hanging tough for literally not having a starting backcourt.
  22. I've ridden NWA twice, and I honestly think I liked Eureka a little better than Bella Vista. Hobbs State Park is my favorite spot thus far. It's more remote than either of the others, and those trails are just perfect XC.
  23. If that model comes to pass, I wonder if you see the bottom half SEC and Big 10 schools consider moving to the Big 12 or ACC? If they aren't getting paid more, what's their incentive to stick around and get their heads kicked in by the blue bloods? Like if you're a Mizzou who is forced to be paid on the virtue of what they bring to the SEC, why wouldn't you look at joining back up with your historical rivals? Or if you're Kentucky why wouldn't you look at going to ACC where you play your arch rival as a conference game and hook up with basketball schools? By the same token that would open up Clemson and FSU to the SEC in a way that's more profitable for all parties. I could see that revenue model pushing things further towards Prestige Worldwide.
