  1. Refusing to lean into and push progressive policies that are broadly popular amongst the electorate, as Obama did in 2008, and instead attempting to appear more right wing to court an imaginary disaffected Trump voter bloc. She failed to offer any compelling vision of change and it cost her dearly. The whole "Republicans for Harris" bullshit dog and pony show, along with the very conservative messaging and rhetoric that the campaign adopted starting with the DNC in August almost certainly alienated a good chunk of (or at least disillusioned) younger and/or low-propensity voters. Those two groups are very demonstrably angry with the status quo, an d nothing says "status quo" like an establishment Democrat taking a public right turn and palling around with Liz fucking Cheney. It certainly made me want to throw up in my mouth and I don't belong in either of those categories. Refusal to break with the current sitting (and quite unpopular with the electorate) Joseph Robinette Brandon in any meaningful way on any current administration policy, and actually pivoting further right on some of them, such as the border/immigration. She had a TON of momentum early and this was the time to do it, to really set yourself apart and energize voters. The absolutely baffling and inexplicable decision to send Ritchie fucking Torres of all people, and Bill Clinton, to Michigan to try and appeal to Arab-American voters was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a campaign do in my lifetime. Not to mention, again, courting the fucking Cheneys. Picking Tim Walz but not actually allowing him to play to his real strength as a politician, which is pushing progressive policies in rural red/purple areas of the country, and instead effectively relegating him to being the "hey look at the Republicans, aren't they weird?" guy. Failing to actually address the economy in any meaningful way that would resonate with undecideds (who decisively broke for Trump) and low-propensity voters. The list is fairly long, but that isn't to say she didn't do plenty of things right as well. You're not wrong that America is very racist and misogynistic. She needed to run a near perfect campaign to win and she didn't come even close to that. The signs were there all along, and pretty much everyone ignored them, to our detriment.
  2. Two things can be true, America is not going to be inclined to elect a black woman president and said black woman's campaign make fatal and totally available mistakes that alienated previously staunch D voting blocs.
  3. The funniest part about all this is this dude that is not white and has acted as a homosexual prostitute for drugs is absolutely convinced his ass isn't going up against the wall in the first few waves should his aspirations of true American fascism ever actually get realized.
  4. Yeah sure. Classic Dem shit blaming everyone but themselves for running out a shitty lib neocon candidate. Can't wait to repeat this shit in another 4 years.
  5. I don't disagree with you but what matter is it is a stone cold fact that the current administration is unpopular with the electorate. It doesn't matter how much you or I bitch and whine about the demonstrable good it has done, you still have to find a way to reach those people to win elections in America. It's either that or you hope for a perfect storm of a guy like Trump facefucking the country for 4 years and an honest to god pandemic so a boring, old Washington oldhead could fall face first into the White House. Thinking you were getting those kinds of numbers again is pure delusion.
  6. Maybe separating yourself meaningfully from a highly unpopular administration that you were fucking part of would have been a good start?
  7. Maybe trying to veer to the right on key issues in order to court some mythical disaffected former Trump voter base wasn't the best idea in retrospect.
  8. Expecting to lose quite a few family members in the next year. America!!!
  9. She sucks e: By she I mean the whole Democrat apparatus sucks, the number of fumbles was always there for everyone to see
  10. That loss to Ohio State broke your brain apparently
  11. Quit shit posting you fuckballoon
  12. About to go play poker at the local VFW with all the boomer vets. They're having an election watch party. Should be entertaining.
  13. In other actual news that doesn't involve petty, interpersonal Surly conflicts: https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-november-5-2024/ Netanyahu fires Gallant, says no trust with defense minister at time of war Tens of thousands of people took to the streets last time he tried to do this, shit is about to hit the fan. Seems that Bibi is going to try and purge any remaining dissenters in the Israeli government now that investigations into his office are ramping up. Probably not a coincidence that he did this on Election Day, either.
  14. Yeah I guess I'm the only one in this thread that should be held accountable for their mistakes, you're right.

  16. Nah, I'm just pointing out everyone makes mistakes. Sorry you don't enjoy yours being pointed out.
  17. I agree, I still think it would have been a good move. Or at least send someone who's a better communicator than John Fetterman.
  18. Pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor Aggy
  19. Not saying you're wrong about Cal being below their standard but their current head coach has a grand total of 0 NCAA tournament wins all time. I'm not sure what their standard is or if it's anywhere near realistic in 2024.
  20. So he's saying his CR experience is much more pleasant than his Football board experience and that's.....bad? I mean, I understand why you have a bad CR experience, but you're not making the point you think you are, champ.
  21. Ok, now that I'm actually home... First off, no I did not and that was a big mistake on my part and I will absolutely own it. I have pretty carefully curated by Twitter feed to filter out as many chud accounts as possible, but sometimes shit slips through and I don't see it, especially if I have no idea who the person is. Anyway, when I saw it, I immediately went and found Ben's actual tweet and read the community note and assumed it was accurate as the post has now been there for over a year I guess. My only meager excuse is I was on an airplane when I posted that and should have waited to do my due diligence before I posted anything. Unfortunately, sometimes we all make mistakes. Similar to how you repeatedly conflated Israel and its interests with the worldwide Jewish community and its interests in the aftermath of Oct 7, apologized for it, and then repeated that process over and over again until you finally realized how laughably (and unintentionally) antisemitic you were being and stopped. Or you got bored, I can't really tell. Or when you proudly pantsed yourself by throwing your full-chested support behind Elise motherfucking Stefanik's bullshit kangaroo court because you really really just wanted those pesky college teenagers to shut the fuck up or something. Or when you repeatedly claimed that posting about Israel's intelligence failures and Netanyahu's seemingly deliberate inaction prior to Oct. 7th was nothing more than an antisemitic conspiracy theory, only to have the two largest Israeli media outlets come out later and say the exact same fucking thing. You got real quiet about that one real quick, I can't imagine why. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. It's awesome that you always have infinite energy to shit on me when I make a mistake, yet you never ever have any smoke at all for posters like prong, who has happily posted weird, Islamophobic, anti-Palestinian garbage from every goddamn groyper-adjacent freak Twitter account in existence for over a year. But hey, at least you got some internet points today. Good job! We could be talking about the latest ceasefire proposal (put forth by Egypt) being rejected by Hamas or how Israel is not just failing to improve the stream of aid into Gaza but is actively making it worse (despite the 30-day deadline given by the US), but nope we gotta do this I guess.
