  1. I guess they can decide their own criteria.

If the Mittens awards require a minimum number of hours a week to be considered then those places wouldn’t qualify.

As it currently stands, you don’t get a say.

  2. Oh I’m so sorry to hear that. I didn’t know Alex well but he was a friend of a friend and I had shared a great lunch with him at another Katy joint and enjoyed a celebration party at Phat Eatery with him.

He was a generous and genuine guy. Very bad news indeed.

  3. Go ahead and put the "chili" in a big bowl over the spaghetti. The shredded cheese mountain will help keep it warm for hours if you place it near the burning couch.

    Thanks - missed that update

In other news, I actually DID go to Dozier's today.  At noon fifteen all they had was brisket and chicken. I had a sliced brisket sandwich.  The moist brisket was fine but the bun was a little stale. When I left, they  were out of everything but said they would have ribs and sausage around 2:30. They still had Jim's slightly sweet sauce on the tables along with Ed's original.

I was hoping to get some stuff from the meat market side but pickins were slim. I picked up a pkg of pecan smoked bacon ends and a ham slug. Was also hoping for some sage sausage and jerky but it was all gone and there won't be any more.

    So long Dozier's.

And then there are the jazz guys, who step all over most rock drummers.

My first thoughts based on the thread title were Bonham and Moon because I like rock. Back in the day I had a fling with progressive jazz and I hafta tell you, Billy Cobham and Tony Williams were incredible.

I saw both live.  I caught Tony Williams at Liberty Hall close to downtown Houston in '77 or '78. The man worked it that night. Eric Johnson opened. I'd say that was a cool show but we were in the front row of the balcony and it was hot.

  6. That looks to be 12 x 24 so half size would be 12 x 12. Sounds like something somebody makes.

I look forward to the future results.

P.S. Concur on the artistry of the finished photo.

  7. Y'all got me thinking about the last movie I saw more than twice at the theater.

In high school, (mid-70s),  we used to go to midnight movies on the weekend and frequently saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Song Remains the Same, Woodstock and Tommy.

But when I was in college I lived off Riverside for sophomore and jr years and we often went to Rocky Horror at the Riverside Theater.  Probably ten or twelve times. It was a blast. That was definitely the last movie I saw more than once en teatro.
