  1. Thank God Austin has its own homegrown disaster scientist to take command if necessary.
  2. If you like cheese and are ever in Houston, you must check out Houston Dairymaids on Airline between Canino's market and Pinkerton. Tell 'em Doobie sent you. It won't mean anything to them, but it ought to be good for a giggle. 🧀
  3. Looks like fun.
  4. Do you make a paste with butter and then rub it under the skin? If not, then do that. Look up a recipe for tandoori chicken. Do that. Whole Foods makes a herb blend called Mediterranean Herb Poultry run, (or something like that). Rub your bird with olive oil and then liberally apply. Trader Joe's makes a blend called Sambal Matah. It's an Indonesian inspired wet spice blend. Use that.
  5. Similar but with more... LINK
  6. Moe's had great beer, but Krusty's made a better burger.
  7. I want to see that running backwards.
  8. GTFOOH. Even Whatever CSI isn't going to enhance that photo enough to recognize a dude almost fifty years later. Why you trollin' bro?
  9. OFFS, try some decaf coffee. All I said was I had never heard that and it wasn't mentioned in his wiki-bio - both demonstrably true. Why do you want to fight about it?
  10. No, I mean what I said. For some reason there's no mention of UT in his wiki bio. Is he ashamed of it? According to this, and assuming he is the same guy, he was on the 1970 NC team. Wonder why that was left out of his wiki?
  11. I had never heard this so I had to look it up. According to the WikiTubes, McIngvale played football at North Texas State or whatever they call it now.
  12. Led Zeppelin, Queen and dozens of other bands at Lakewood Church. 😈
  13. Am I the only one who read that in his avatar's voice?
  14. It's Texas backwards with an asterisk for the x
  15. Lincoln Riley needed overtime to beat Army. (True Story.) Lincoln Riley was named for JFK's secretary. Lincoln Riley's favorite pizza is "Hawaiian"...with extra dicks. That guy sucks. Like OU. \\m//
  16. "When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight..." You gave it to
  17. YOU look - Blummer
  18. I had a class with Dr James Bill during the Iranian hostage crisis. I also met Dr. John Wheeler during freshman orientation and spent a fascinating afternoon with Dr. Linda Schele in the late '80s. You are absolutely right about the quoted sentiment.
  19. Sometime around 1967 or '68 my family was in Austin shopping from Lexington and we were at Scarborough's Department Store. I think the building is still there - I want to say the SW corner of Congress and Dirty 6th. Anyway my grandmother grabbed my sibs and me and drug us up to the third floor where they had side by side water fountains - one a rusty metal affair and one a gleaming white porcelain model - mounted on the wall. The signs were long gone, but you could still plainly see where they had hung. She told us the significance of the dual fountains and what the signs had once read and admonished us to never forget what an ugly sight it was. I never have.
  20. P.S. Happi Byrthday.
  21. Uhm, a "moon" is a lunar cycle, not a "night". (Or about 27 days.) This reads, "I was born 508 years ago". Maybe that's true and if so, can we be friends? 😉
  22. That looks like Elon Musk's anti-pedo cave diving submarine. So the obvious name is "Musky Buck's Meat Tube".
  23. Lincoln Riley drives around Norman after midnight and steals the big wheels that kids leave in their driveways. What a dick.
  24. Well I'm completely open minded about it. I intend to not watch this game with exactly the same fervor as I've not watched any other nfl games this season.
  25. Yeah, in my case not so much. My first girlfriend at UT, 1978, was a recent transplant from Cal State Hayward and brought The Dead with her to Austin. It was good grooving music and we went to see them in Houston that winter. The show was great and I still have the vinyl from around then. I saw them again in the mid-80s. I like them, enjoyed the shows and still like much of their catalog, but I'm no DeadHead. No offense to those who are, but I'm only "somewhere along the spectrum".
