  2. I think it was fair. He had been trying to end the fight for a while. Pulled out the tire iron to get the guys to stay back while he convinced his buddy to get in the car. Plus, it was 7 on 2, and the other dudes weren’t above curb stomping en masse. That’s a good way to get dead or potato.
  3. That she blew her head off in front of a toddler?

  6. I hate the cold. This is the worst. But, the rain FINALLY let me get to burning a bunch of brush I've had stacked all over for nearly a year. Probably knocked out 75% of it yesterday. So I've got that going for me.

  11. I would cast it like this based on how personalities match with characters played by the actors: @RGBIII Mark Wahlburg - lovable, goes with the flow, get's shit down @closetojumping Nick Offerman - grumpy, with lots of insight into the world @immamac Charlie Day - (not the Always Sunny version) renaissance man with a wild side @SydneyCarton Bill Burr - I don't know why, it just feels right Me - I'm fucking calling dibs on McConaughey because he's my fucking idol, and I'll fucking cut anyone who challenges me. If he's unavailable, then Billy Bob Thornton Think that's everyone who posts here. Sorry if I left anybody off!
  12. Thanks, bud! I credit you though. Felt like if I failed you'd perma-ban me from Surly, and I couldn't have that. ETA: Oops. For some reason I thought Imma posted this. I take it back.
  13. I believe the troops in Kherson are actually some of the real military, meaning they're some of the remaining few that are actually NOT mobilized cannon fodder.
  14. I feel like half the stories I've read on this mix up east-west and left-right banks. There have been a handful of times where I've pulled up a map trying to figure out things like "they're falling back to the east of the Dnieper to entrench themselves on the left bank." Like maybe there was a weird switchback in the river that made such a statement make sense? But I haven't been able to figure it out. Seems like a typo, but I've seen it so often I really don't know. ETA: I've now seen the error of my ways. Should've asked the question myself weeks ago.

  18. Don't know about the rest of the family, but her father certainly isn't
  19. No joke. If it's anything close to 2:1, they walk away with it. Hell, at those numbers, it might only need to be 1.3:1
  20. I'm assuming you're referring to the indy ballots generally breaking 2:1 Dem? So we could reasonably expect something like the following (assuming the D & R ballots mostly follow party lines): CA-27, Dems have 140k (+66k indy) = 206k dem votes outstanding mail-in ballots and indies have 100k. That dwarves the GOP's 84k (+33k indy) = 117k R votes outstanding That would have dems winning by a solid margin CA-22, Dems have 110k (+55k) =165k D outstanding ballots and indies have 84k. GOP only has 62k (+29k) = 91k R outstanding Solid margin for Dems CA-13, Dems have 110k (+54k) = 164k D outstanding and indies have 82k. GOP has only 67k (+28k) = 95k R outstanding Again, solid margin for dems
  21. Not disagreeing with you at all on the raw numbers, and there's probably no way to ever determine this, but I would bet the numbers aren't as clean cut as that. I think the more hardcore someone was about being anti-vax/anti-mask, the more politically motivated they were. In other words, amongst the rural suicide-by-Covid-R deaths, I'd bet they voted in higher numbers than the urban D deaths that were more akin to collateral damage.
