  1. I'd say this and as someone upstream posted, Neyor getting injured really put the clamp down on Xavier's full utilization. Defenses will have to play Worthy honest if there's a bigger body deep threat opposite him.
  2. When you can't track the ball and are steadily running away from it, then yeah, the ball looks like it was thrown further than it was. Part of that is the receiver adjusting--he doesn't. Casey had difficulty overthrowing period--he was more mobile though, which does help stretch defenses.
  3. Think Ewers and Xavier just aren't on the same page--were early on but some break downs along the way have offset any kind of timing they established. Ewers absolutely throws receivers open or will throw to a spot--which is why it looks like the ball is out in nowhere when they miss. He's shown early on that he has plenty of touch and anticipation, but when guys drop passes and every play is the touchdown long ball, then both parties over compensate. There's also some bad play calling--mix in some intermediate routes, quick slants, cuts and come back to the ball. These are all plays where quick receivers can absolutely shake coverage. I think Xavier can operate in a phone booth but on deep balls, really isn't asked to when it's just go deep. That's also not fully utilizing his skills--move him around. I think Xavier's equivalency in the college game, or could be, is more Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. I'd probably really look at Brown's utilization when he was at OU (burns the eyes) and how he got the ball all over the field. Furthermore, wtf is Sark doing--when the qb is off, how about building him up to the deep pass rather than relying on it. Get the offense moving--if the defense wants to give up the underneath, take it. It'll tire them out more than just running deep for 3 and out and then punting, but force the safeties to back off--and utilize some screens to open the run game. Sark and Ewers got in a rut and the offensive play was caught on a short loop for awhile during TCU. I don't know what to do about blitzing up the middle except.... Vary the damn snap count--like a bunch. Practice it so the line doesn't jump but vary it more and collect penalties. TCU was timing their rushes in anticipation. Vary it a few times and they absolutely would've jumped offsides. Instead they changed it after that game, rather than during. But again, practice it so that the line doesn't move. Random thoughts before giving up on Xavier. I go knee jerk about letting him walk but he's a top risk that could offer a lot of benefit if everything get's ironed out. And yes, you can work on catching over the shoulder throws or opposite shoulder throws. Just do it regularly. The other thing that has been great about Worthy is that he pretty much has stayed healthy, which is a bonus that you can't guarantee in the portal.
  4. I'd always plan for high R turnout and do the right thing. The SCOTUS is compromised. Right the ship now, while there are numbers.
  5. It's only targeting when the hit is by Texas, and then it doesn't even matter if the hit doesn't involve the head.
  6. Our secondary still looks spotty. Our zone still has major breakdowns.
  7. May have already posted but apologies if this is a repeat. I remember looking back to see when and why Pelosi became unpopular—what did she do? She was elected and was a D. The smears started as soon as she took office and they never stopped, but increased in rage.
  8. It's also important the hypocrites live near the border somewhere so that they can get cheap meds and doctor visits.
  9. Thankfully, bots haven't been deemed voters by the SCOTUS....yet.
  10. If anybody wants to see a shot of what high pointing the ball looks like, Diggs' snag should be the illustration.
  11. Add to that the fact republicans are always publicly talking about cutting social security and Medicare. This really should be a huge part of Dem messaging when sound bites and video exist.
  12. We wouldn't have developed him. Cam's playing well because of who he's playing for, in a different system. He chose wisely.
  13. TCU is in the conference championship this year after being horrible last year and getting Patterson fired. Dykes is absolutely doing more with less.
  14. We're not out of it but Texas isn't going to play out of their minds for anything. They play enough to win. In almost every game, they have to find ways to crawl out of the holes they help their opponents dig. For awhile now, the Texas offense isn't giving anything extra.
  15. The Texas offense was just never mentally in it tonight. They dropped passes, fumbled snaps, terrible reads and passes, missed blocks--defense hung tough but offense stunk. That's on Sark since that's his side of the ball. If you'e going to take the money, you gotta be the man. And offensively, they had other shit going on outside of the game. Now they get to jump into their fancy cars and drive to whatever party's going on. Maybe see their baby mamas and fuck off whatever else matters this season. They fucked off their playoff chances, fucked off their own division champion chances are now playing to play in a shitty bowl. Guess that's better than last year but a low bar for a team that recruits more talent than most teams in their conference.
  16. How bad does Ewers have to play to remain in?
  17. Whatever you do Ewers, don't throw to the open uncovered guy running across underneath.
  18. Texas just can't get out of its own way.
  19. Ewers missed Bijan all alone. Damn.
  20. Whole drive didn't have to happen but let's keep rushing the punter that is falling down on every kick.
