Covid/Influenza/Black Death. 2024 and beyond
My mother vowed never to go to a FB game with me again after I spent 3 hours yelling at every OU fan within earshot the following list of colloquials: 1) DRIVE YOUR HOMES HOME!!! 2) Is your home gas or diesel!!!! 3) Is your home a bumper pull or 5th wheel!!! 4) How many slideouts do you have in your home!!!!

Heard on the radio this morning that average restaurant revenues right around the AAC are down 20+% on Mavs game nights since the trade. Not only did they rip the fans' hearts out, they're literally hurting people's livelihood.

Just saying he’s basically been the most consistent secondary player for the past 2.5 years.

Markets still falling like whoa
I've always been more of a 55/35/10 guy (rather than 60/40, and clearly those numbers are arbitrary, just using them as a point of reference). That 10 might be managed futures, it might be cash, it might be an individual strategy that's pulled back to a desirable level...etc. But for the sake of this argument, I'd say 50 equity/10 L/S equity/30 bond/10 managed futures

Markets still falling like whoa
I think it always serves a purpose to have a L/S equity etf as well as a managed futures etf in a portfolio to further smooth the returns. Yes, you're still going to have some overlap and unintended duplication, but it's served me well in the past. In '22, when the bond market was down 20%, and so was the stock market, I had a managed futures fund as a 10% portfolio weighting. It was up 45% that year. My portfolios were down 4% for the year vs the market being down 20%. Yeah, the next year when the market was up 30% and I was only up 18% kinda sucked, but that's the point of diversifying methodology, not just diversifying assets.

Maybe seeing a 7 game Lakers/Knicks final with Luka going 35/12/12 and Brunson going 35/12 every game will make the ownership fire Nico on the spot.

The Worst Trade in NBA History: Luka traded for AD
Nico is probably going to get Adam Silver's job when he decides to hang it up.

4/80 w/58mm guaranteed for Osa Odighizuwa. Not a terrible contract tbh. Some word going around that he could get in the 22/ range.

Isn't even a true bet "against" the market, but a bet on day to day volatility of options on the SPX. 600 pt down days in a row followed by a 600 pt up day can garner the same result. You basically want a lot of movement every day. I've seen UVIX do very little or even go down during 8 straight down days where the market was finishing down by .1-.3%. It's the 1%+ days stacked on top of each other that really get UVIX going.

International markets are going to hurt equal or more than US markets. Too intertwined.

Русский корабль - иди нахуй
That's fair. Pile on. I'm a firm believer America will get it (mostly) right (most of the time) and was looking for the outside straight. I don't even think it's out of the realm that it could still happen to be honest. But that's for another thread. We all want to make things work. We all want things to happen. We hate when they don't go as planned. I hate that they got invaded in '14 and fuck all was done by the admin then. Fuck all was done for the a while in '22. You can't unfuck the babysitter as someone said. Can Ukraine still turn the tide? I fucking hope so. I hope it happens. I hope we are part of it too. Is continuing to gut their country of enough men to make them viable going forward the answer either? Something has to fucking give. I sure as shit don't want it to be Russia getting its way...
