  1. Sparkle was built for heavy haul and oversize. The new one will be a highway princess and will never run over gross. I’m averaging low 4’s mpg now. I have a friend that just bought a 579 and he’s averaging 7+ mpg
  2. Probably a little over $200k by the time I’m done specking it out. maybe a smaller motor. 500hp instead of 565 and 13 speed transmission instead of 18 but it will still be a manual. shorter wheel base too. I’m at 280” now
  3. After the mess I went through with the motor and the warranty company I don’t trust it any more. It’s like riding around with a ticking time bomb. looking at the new 579’s id like to do something like this but white and burnt orange instead or red and black.
  4. Some of those concrete loads I was hauling out of New Braunfels were paying up to $10 a mile. Like these we’re paying me $1600 a piece from New Braunfels to Taylor.
  5. Haven’t had a lot of good photo opps lately. And this WWE gig is turning into a real grind. I’ll have sparkle cake paid off in November and I’m probably going to go shopping for a new truck and move back over to the music tours. we were in Lexington yesterday. And I’m parked next to Lambeau field today but we aren’t allowed over there.
  6. Last time I was over the road chasing freight was 2023 I believe. I wouldn’t start my truck for less that $2 a mile after deadhead. It was getting real hard to find that then so I went to a different company with their own customers hauling the oversize and heavy hall loads.
  7. Ok. I looked back at our schedule so I knew we weren’t in that area. Stage Call trailers are just white unless the tour wants them wrapped. I know a driver that just started at Warner and they started her off at $.42 a mile. They are a company that hires straight out of driving school. Their drivers should average around 2k miles a week. In comparison when I started in the early 90’s my first job was $.21 a mile. I think with experience and a clean driving record some of the better companies are paying around $.60 per mile or better.
  8. I have a fan club. They show up every night after the show is over. A WWE truck? He must have been lost.
  9. Lined up in Louisville, KY across the river from the yum center. Waiting for the show to go down so we can go to work. you can see the bridge in the background where this happened last year. That was a skinny motherfucker. I pissed a lot of folks off but I took 2 lanes going across.
  10. A fan took this video of me rolling into Dayton,OH. After I got parked I walked over and asked him if he was posting online. He thought he was in trouble. I told him I just wanted a link to the vid. I swear I see 10-15 people a day taking pics or vids as they are passing me on the highway. I search #’s on social media sites all the time looking for pics and vids of our trucks. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJX-IDnNH59/?igsh=MW1zc3BjdTRrZ3Q2bg== Nutter Center at Wright University in Dayton. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdUt_6t96b/?igsh=MTVxZGMxYm9jOXJoaA==
  11. A short clip of how we get into some of the tight docks. This was St Louis. Back onto the ramp off the street. Then between 2 columns into the dock. All at different angles. IMG_1361.mov
  12. I’m not usually one to judge or kink shame, but……. IMG_1341.mov
  13. I was there. Lol
  14. Now that ole Sparkle Cake is back up and running I’m going to try and update this thread more. I know I’ve said that before so I’m probably lying. I know several of yall have driven or been in trucking related jobs. But there has to be other current surly drivers that should be posting here too. anyway. Just spent 6 days in Vegas with Raw and Smackdown for Wrestlemania week. and now I’m on my way to Ft worth for a Friday night show. https://www.instagram.com/p/DIzPFsIREVv/?igsh=MW9jdHh5eW5vbHNx
  15. I just saw this. I’ll send you a DM soon.
  16. I imagine there has to be at least one. I’m going to see The Franklin County Trucking Company Wednesday night at The 5 spot.
  17. I picked up ole Sparkle Cake yesterday. If everything had gone as it should have I would have only paid $11k after maybe 3-4 weeks. but after all of the insane bullshit I had to go through to get my truck back on the road I ended up paying $31,876.72 6 months after the process started. I guess I am lucky that I manage my business and finances in such a way that I am able to survive this major set back. I have spent $90k dollars since June of last year on this truck. If all works out well and I can get another 600k miles or more out of this motor I will be extremely happy. The reality is if anything else goes wrong in the next couple of months I will be sunk. I’m hanging on by a thread. Hopefully this saga is over and I can get back to posting about tour life. so I picked him up in Hagerstown MD and drove nearly 600 miles yesterday to Nashville TN. No issues at all. It’s running perfectly with no leaks. I’m sure a couple will happen but that’s just part of the break in and shake down. I will be in Nashville until the end of March. I’m looking for a place to stay either an extended stay hotel or an air b&b. Anyone have any recommendations. I don’t plan to go anywhere near broadway. Most of the music and artists I like is going to be found in East Nashville at places like the 5 spot. Also if anyone is in Nashville I’m always down to break bread or grab a drink or two.
  18. Nope. All say they are too busy to take me on. Someone said that’s Lawyer speak for your fucked. Or something like that.
  19. We have a motor back in and it’s running. Gonna be a week or so before I get a chance to go pick it up. IMG_1075.mov
  20. Here is the situation. The shop shipped the motor to warranty without stripping it down to a long block. Shipping cost was roughly $3k. They insured the motor based on value. warranty company won’t deal with parts on the motor other than the long block. They shipped the motor back to the shop. Shipping cost was roughly $400. They insured the motor by density (weight/size). In the process of the motor being shipped back to the shop it was damaged to the cost of roughly $20k (the parts that weren’t stripped originally) Shipping company paid the insurance claim at $0.10 per lb. So roughly $300. so now I am out of pocket roughly $20k in parts that were in perfectly good working order when I broke down. the shipping back and forth and the nearly 5 weeks waiting for the insurance claim have been the biggest reason for the delays in getting my truck back up and running. TLDR. Fuck me for things I have no control over.
  21. Have reached out to 6 different lawyers so far. 5 said they were too busy without ever actually talking to anyone. The 6th called and asked a bunch of questions and today said they were too busy also. this is a never ending fucking nightmare.
  22. Thanks for the recommendation, made contact. Said they were too busy and could not take up my case.
