Plains, Trains and Automobiles. Got to see it on the big screen at Regal. I had not seen the movie since I was a kid when we rented it at a video store. The scene where Candy drives the wrong way and they are sitting on the trunk watching the car burn had me crying laughing. I don’t know why, but that got me the most. Candy and Martin together was just a great pairing. Martin cussing out the woman at the rental car counter was hilarious as well. Beautiful movie.
I can recite basically the whole movie. Top 1 movie for me

So what kind of mental gymnasticsis MAGA doing to paint this guy as a deplorable Latino vs a European? I mean, Portugal is technically Europe, but they speak that funny south american language of Portuguese. And his skin tone is, well, let's just say "not scandinavian." Gotta be loopholes to lump the Portuguese in with the southern browns.

I guess as an old I'm wired a bit differently, but I just find I am more productive in the office. There is an energy and a shared experience that just focus (as I type on surly from the office). Of course, since we own primarily office buildings, we encourage people to work from the office. But on a personal level, I just prefer it. Of course I've always had my own decent sized private office. If I had a cube or some shit, maybe I'd feel different.

We were going to win that MNC game by 14+ if Colt hadn't gone down. We were down by 3 with the ball and a chance to go win it anyway in spite of 4 picks by a helpless backup QB. With Colt, we roll their ass.
And I think we would have been a coin flip to beat Florida after the '08 season if we hadn't been ass rammed by a conference that for some reason hated one of its two bell cows. All Florida did in that title game was beat ou by 10, same as we did. It would have been a hell of a game.
But I'm over it. God dammit.

It's a struggle, yesterday was just a really "bad" day. Pain meds not working, stomach doing acrobatics, barely strong enough to get from the living room to the bathroom, just everything fucking sucked. It had me scared about how maybe the decline is faster than I thought and I was reevaluating my entire timeline outlook.
Today has been a very very "good" day. The swing is wild and all the stuff that seemed overwhelming and sucked has been totally minimal and easy to deal with. It's a real motherfucker mentally as I continue to give up more control of my life and let other people do things for me.
Something else that has been really hard is my dog died back in August. I adopted her 6 months before I was diagnosed and she was an absolute rock in my life, a soulmate dog if there ever was one. She got me though the dark chemo days the way only the non-stop love of a pitbull can. Going through yesterday without her snoring on my lap was very difficult and I would have given all the money I have left for her to be back with me.
Sorry to hear of the struggle, but happy to hear the good moments are still with you. May they continue.
The best thing about dogs is their unconditional love. The worst is that they leave us too soon.

Former Bruin Myles Jack arrested. Hope he's not struggling with mental health issues.

@Sbbruin I'm reading about bear activity up your way. No, not the big, hairy gay dudes. The actual bear-type bears with claws and teeth. Some poor bastard in Alta Dena has a bear in his crawlspace. Anything in your neighborhood?
Ha just seeing this. Dude, we’ve lived here for 23 years and never used to see bears. Now we have them on our block multiple times a week. They’ve knocked over our trash cans several times. The night after Halloween my daughter’s friend was picking her up. My daughter walked out the front door and there was a bear 4 feet away on our porch, eating leftover ribs I had thrown in the trash.
Not sure if the vid will load, but that is my house he’s in front of.

Tonight in a game no one will willingly watch, UCLA takes on the 5th or 6th best coach in the Hurley family. I am sure @Sbbruin has been anticipating this matchup as little as I have. I at least hope UCLA can win this one. We don’t have many opportunities for wins left once conference play starts. The more losses that pile up the quicker this 12 year long reign of mediocrity can end. @Derka no matter how much a past his prime Sean Miller frustrates you just be glad you don’t have our guy instead.
I’ve been watching the whole game. Bruins with a little spurt. Between Mick and the Hurley Brothers, Cronin is the level headed one.
