  1. Who is she going to tell the plans to that would make any difference on a prison planet that's had bolstered security after the previous breakout? All we know is she went from the interrogation room to the jail cell in ISB HQ to the prison. After the Death Star comes online in Rogue One, nothing matters about who knows because the Empire then wants everyone to know and fear them. Maybe she's on the team making widgets for Death Star 2.0.
  2. I'm sure there were backup plans but Galen only knew of the ones on Scariff. I'm sure there are plans in the Emperor's tower on Coruscant. And the Dedra ending was what Gilroy wanted to her to have which was the begining and end her story in an Imperial block. She was raised in a kinderblock and she'll probably die in their prison. It's a better fate than just showing her gunned down on screen and he already had that for Partigas. We know how hard the imperial prison life can be and how it breaks people. Also, it helped to keep her alive because her still being alive after Krennic pushed on her head and then threw her in jail led to Kleya being hunted and almost captured. And let's be honest the real bastard of the Empire is Tarkin. He's the one who does not hesitate to blow up or murder people. Krennic only did that when it was necessary. And as we saw, he runs a leaky ship as did a lot of the ISB.
  3. Scheduled a flight to Colorado to take my oldest on some college trips before she has to decide where to apply starting in August. Shit is getting real.
  4. Quansah is off to Bayer for 30M + 5M in add-ons. We also have a buy back clause. That's some masterful selling. Supposedly we're trying to buy Marc Guehi from Palace for the same amount.
  5. I live in Dallas. I'm okay with DFW getting nuked after this post.
  6. Hey ICE, you ever had your shit pushed in?
  7. WineGuy69 is a dumb dildo. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
  8. I wanted to come back to this thread with a suggestion for anyone who feels beaten down by this 2nd act. My wife has been having a really hard time with this and so instead of constant doom scrolling and thoughts about wanting to escape to magical non-MAGA lands to make things better, I suggested we try to volunteer more in our area. We found a really great option that does twice a month food distribution. It's 3 hours every 1st and 3rd Saturday morning. Doesn't take a lot of time and it helps people who have been further marginalized by how expensive life has become. There's no judgments, no needs-based tests, just giving away donated groceries from local grocers and food distributors. It felt really good to be a part of making sure a family doesn't go hungry for the next week. We took our two kids with us and they had a great time. It's just a little thing we can do to help others in need. Maybe that's how we can turn the tide. Little acts of kindness in this sick, cynical world. So just give something like it a try if you're looking for something to take your mind off this shit for a few hours.
  9. Was hoping for an inside the park home run there after the keystone cops.
  10. The first test screening of Jaws was here in Dallas at the Medallion Theater off Northwest Highway and Skillman the March before the wide release in June. A guy threw up after the Kitner boy was eaten. Spielberg was standing in the back getting everyone's' reaction. The Ben Garner head scene was filmed and added after the screening because Spielberg wanted another jump scare based on how well the audience reacted to the original print. https://www.wfaa.com/article/entertainment/jaws-movie-premiere-date-location-dallas-texas-medallion-theater/287-bf236a7e-0ebe-4b78-9646-a2096fe01a97
  11. Counterpoint, no Timewasters, no Black Detty and then we all lose.
  12. It is done. Feels like we're building an army. Leverkusen wanted 150M, we gave them 116M.
  13. Feels like we're going to have 4 weeks without the Musers. Cowboys training camp isn't until July 21st.
  14. I've watched most of any long form interviews that Tony Gilroy has given after Andor was finished.
  15. The day he dies should be a holiday going forward.
  16. Plan to watch it tomorrow night for the 50th. I bought the 4K blu-ray. My kids have never seen it. Now they're going to see that little Kitner boy spill out all over the dock.
  17. Just need teams and stadiums to have the courage to say no.
  18. So we have the concept of a strike?
  19. Getting 30M for Quansah would be pretty amazing.
  20. I think the anthropologist is trying to make a point that's pretty unnecessary and nothing Gilroy was even trying to attempt. I don't think he was trying to subvert anything Lucas had done. He was making Star Wars where you didn't actually have to have one drop of knowledge about the Force or frankly anything else to pick up what was happening and what the stakes were. Yes, that's appealing to a larger, non-SW nerd audience. You didn't need to know Anakin's fall or the Jedi being wiped out. If you've heard Gilroy talk about the time frame he's trying to build his world in, there are only a few people who've ever seen a Jedi. They are very few Force believers. It's very much like the first movie. You can just be dropped into that world and it was fine. He was telling the story of the average people who make revolutions happen under extraordinary circumstances but I disagree about the notion that it wasn't a hero's journey. The Force healer seeing Cassian's future plays up a bit that he's fairly special. Bix felt it to I'd imagine. Andor is very much a hero's journey because Cassian tried his best to not get involved until he had no choice at the end of season 1. He was only it in for himself and to scrape by. Then he was fully in after Marva died and Bix was hurt because of him. Very similar to Luke just wanting to drop Obi Wan off at Anchorhead and go back to being a farmer. Then the only family Luke had ever known was wiped out and he had nothing else to stay for. That motivated him to want to learn about the Force and go on his hero's journey. And Luke only succeeded because of Han Solo saving his ass multiple times. I think Andor hits so well because it captures a lot of what made the original movie great. But the story is timeless because revolutions and resistance have always happened in our history.
