  1. Starting to think the person in custody is just a person of interest and not the guy but Patel jumped the gun because he's probably facing heat to find the guy quickly. They already released the old man and the local authorities say they have a person of interest in custody. That's very different from the suspect being in custody. I base this also on the Salt Lake FBI setting up a tip line after Patel says they had a suspect in custody. FBI sets up tip line for information about shooting From CNN's Elise Hammond The FBI has set up a digital tip line for information about the shooting of Charlie Kirk, the agency announced on X. The Utah Department of Public Safety and the FBI are co-leading the criminal investigation, the state’s public safety commissioner, Beau Mason, said earlier. You can find the tip line here.
  2. I think that's the old man with his pants down that everyone originally thought was the shooter.
  3. You are The Petty Machine.
  4. I don't know shit about fuck as far as long range shooting. Is that something that requires skill? Based on the video posted before, the person looked to be on the roof with Chickfila icon.
  5. Is the FBI saying this at that briefing or is that a university spokesman?
  6. So the FBI Director is incorrect? He posted that they had a suspect.
  7. Suspect in Charlie Kirk shooting is in custody, FBI says From CNN's Aditi Sangal A suspect in the shooting and killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is now in custody, FBI Director Kash Patel announced. “The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi,” Patel wrote in a post on X.

  9. Nothing. He disappeared into the wind. Only thing so far is grainy photos of dots that are supposed to be someone on the roof. Investigators have not identified a suspect, federal law enforcement sources say From CNN's Evan Perez and Hannah Rabinowitz Investigators don’t have a suspect identified in the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and have launched a manhunt, two federal law enforcement officials told CNN. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI are at the scene to assist. Law enforcement officers can be seen in video footage combing buildings, including rooftops, at the perimeter of the open-air venue where the shooting occurred at Utah Valley University, an apparent effort to collect evidence including possible shell casings.
  10. Yeah, the person showing his ass right now doesn't post in CR so maybe you should say a good reminder of why I stay out of DT.
  11. Pretty much every single person who was there yesterday was either the Dean of Admissions (Colorado College, Macalister, Sarah Lawrence) or someone older than me (49) or around my age who was in the office of admissions. I wanted to speak directly with someone from Grinnell as I don't want to fly to Iowa to learn more and they came instead to my area. I wanted my daughter to talk further with both Grinnell and Colorado College so she can make sure she's still wanting to apply to them and feels the same way about them as she did earlier. I also wanted her to see some other options since she liked those two so much. Sure, we could've done all of this from our laptop. I saw value in spending 40 minutes driving to Duncanville to listen to presentations on these schools and to get my questions answered. I wanted her to learn more about how best to become a therapist at these colleges and what options they offer as far as internships and experiences that could aid her on this decision. Had the event been better attended, we probably don't get more than a few minutes with these people. Instead, we got almost 10 minutes with each of the schools she was interested in. This event is going to have me looking into the next virtual open house for Grinnell like my daughter attended on her own. It was pretty valuable to both of us as we had a great 40 minute conversation about colleges on our drive home.
  12. Trump confirmed he has died.
  13. Okay. Point still stands. Another non-Gen Z guy shot 2 Congress people in Minnesota that he was opposed to their beliefs, killing one. So while we decry the current generation and their intolerance, let's not forget who they're learning it from.
  14. Ha. No. No East Coast schools are being considered. The furthest she may go is Iowa. Macalister might be fun as the Twin Cities are great but she's a fragile child and the bitter cold might break her.
  15. Maybe think "is this something I should post" before you hit Submit Reply next time. You helped that thread go off the rails with your post. It was always going to go off the rails given the subject of it but you lit the fuse.
  16. So who the fuck is the shooter?
  17. Charlie Kirk shot. 3 high school students in Evergreen, Colorado were shot in their high school today. This is America.
  18. There have been dozens of shootings at schools in the US this year From CNN's Alex Leeds Matthews, Amy O’Kruk and Annette Choi Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University today — marking the 46th shooting that took place at a school in the United States so far this year. Twenty-four were on college campuses and 22 were on K-12 school grounds. The incidents left 18 people dead and at least 76 other victims injured, according to CNN’s analysis of events reported by the Gun Violence Archive, Education Week and Everytown for Gun Safety. CNN cross checks these reports of school shootings against school and police accounts and media reports. All incidents of gun violence are included if they occurred on school property, from kindergartens through colleges/universities, and at least one person was shot, not including the shooter. This post has been updated with additional information about how CNN tracks shootings at schools.
  19. Thread is a tad ironic given the violence an old person did today against someone who said things he didn't like.
  20. I don't think anyone knows yet but given where he was speaking at, any rooftop could've been used. Actually, saw this on CNN.com A suspect is in custody, the university said in a statement. Kirk was invited by a student group and was speaking when a shot was fired from a campus building about 200 yards away.
  21. Sure but you're dealing with a nation of angry people who have easy access to guns. They shoot Congress people they disagree with, they kill school kids, they shot people like Charlie Kirk. How exactly are we going to stop this stuff?
  22. Sure but the social media aspect of this is new and now you can amplify and pressure administrations into action on a level not possible before unless you went to a school board meeting.
  23. Here we go again. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/10/us/politics/kamala-harris-book-biden-107-days.html?campaign_id=60&emc=edit_na_20250910&instance_id=162265&nl=breaking-news&regi_id=113828515&segment_id=205639&user_id=89756bbda443ddaabc11c32d7e4e360e
  24. So as we've seen from this example, social media shaming adults into action is partially to blame. It has empowered young people to feel they don't have to listen to something they don't agree with or they feel runs counter to their religious beliefs or overall belief system. Some are fine with this until it's their beliefs that are the ones being attacked and removed. Then it's a bridge too far.
