  1. Yes I believe you are correct, a form 1 is faster. Last I heard was 3 to 5 months vs 9 to 14. I was looking at a complete SBR but was advised to buy the lower and then buy the upper separately to form 1 it.
  2. This. I paid $500 on FB MP but it was almost new.
  3. Congrats! I love the Rugar Mark and am quite envious of the IV owners since they’re not a PITA to field strip.
  4. I have a small Amsec that I love but it only holds pistols and documents. I need to be able to hold 6 to 8 long guns nicely, the stuff in my small Amsec, and firearm accessories like mags. Any recs for a fireproof gun safe? Would something like 30” wide suffice, you think?
  5. I see. Yea it totally depends on the franchise. WW of Austin did a great install for me. My only gripe with WW is that they have a weep hole on the fixed side of a horizontal slider. It lets in a bit of cold air in. I don’t see the point of the weep hole since it’s on the fixed side on the inside of the window. I guess if there was tropical storm sideways rain, we t could help the frame drain. However, that’s not likely for me and there is a weep hole in the slider side as well (under the pane)....so I put a little piece of tape over it.
  6. I don’t recall the name, but there was only one in Austin when I looked at them.
  7. Same thing here. That’s their unethical high pressure sales model.
  8. Why? I know of a dozen installs by Window World of Austin, over a decade, including new ownership of that local franchise. All owners have been happy and so I took their recommendation and just replaced all my Windows and so far so so. Install was flawless, clean, and the crew was quick. The product carries the best warranty, lifetime on everything including the glass. Most companies only warranty the glass up to 15 years which is the MTTF for the glass seal. I replaced all my windows (11 openings), 4 were oversized, for less than $6k. I don’t disagree that Marvin makes a quality Window but the authorized dealer in Austin is an a hole. If I had confidence in them, I would have happily paid more for their product. This brings me to an important point that you have to go with a reputable dealer/contractor. I’m sure there are more options for Marvin in Houston.
  9. Sounds like the OP should be asking about the cost of installing windows.
  10. I’ve put around 800 rds through mine and didn’t have a single issue. However I haven’t shot any crappy ammo with it.
  11. I briefly researched this myself and have some thoughts where others may be able to chime in. 1) is it a good idea? 10/22 can be persnickety if fouled and a can will only contribute. 2) is the carbine barrel thick enough for a smith to thread it and is it going to be cost effective? 3) is it going to be cheaper to replace the barrel if you can DIY? Replacing the barrel looks a bit involved but there are plenty of YouTube’s. It does look like you need a freezer to get it off without stressing the assembly (aluminum). 4) if you have to hire someone to replace the barrel, then look at the cost for another rifle. [emoji3]
  12. I’m going upgrade the stock on a 10/22 carbine. Was looking at one of those fancy finagle Boyd’s laminate stocks. Any advice on selection and installation? Will likely pick a model that floats the barrel, but know jack shit about swapping and bedding a stock.
  13. I used to use Rem oil and bore cleaner. However Rem oil does not inhibit rust like it should. I’ve seen it personally and friends have said the same thing too. Slip 2000 is my new go to. It’s non toxic, cleans just as well, lasts longer and protect better against wear. Amazon sells a 3 pack of the cleaner, lube, and bore cleaner. The cleaner is good enough to clean the bore unless you shoot a lot of dirty dirty or get fail to clean regularly. Then that’s when the bore cleaner comes in handy.
  14. Im partial to the 365XL. It shoots more like a compact, has higher capacity, but it’s still comfortable and prints very similarly to the 365.
  15. 1) Life is too short to squeeze crappy triggers. MBT all the way. 2) I don’t mind if the furniture doesn’t match the metal. You could even take it a step further and paint the hand guard FDE and leave the rest of it black. That helps with hot gun in the sun and I think it looks pretty slick. That’s my humble opinion.
  16. 1. Hire excellent staff. 2. Increase the percentage of 4/5 star signees. Land 1 to 2 top talent at skill positions. 3. Win the games you are supposed to win by the expected margins. No blowout losses. Fail to do number 1, both Sark and CDC will be gone in 3 or 4.
  17. Touché. Any site regularly honoring their back orders?
  18. I’ve done that before but can’t get significant quantities that way unless you score a bucket of Winchester white.
  19. There are places like Optics Planet that sells it at those prices but they generally suck at not cancelling your order. How much is 9mm at GTs? I can find it at The Range but it’s outrageously priced at $35 a box for Federal.
  20. I’m looking for normal/reasonable pricing (28-35 cents per) on quality 9mm in bulk and potentially 22LR. I don’t need immediately; 2 to 3 months is fine. What sites do you recommend for setting up alerts or buying back order? Any other strategies that don’t involve driving around blindly?
  21. I’m pretty sure it’s your disk like immac said. Look at your performance monitor and share a screenshot of perfmon while launching a browser or something. That should show your bottlenecks.
  22. Nice! What was their quoted vs actual lead time?
  23. I can say that when my wife and I aren’t aligned on parenting, it does create challenges. Moreover it’s a point of instability for the kids. Kids need stability and consistency. I have to imagine it’s even more challenging for a child if the parents are divorced. Is there anyway you and your ex can come to an agreement on some of these child rearing differences? For us, it made it significantly easier when we sort out our differences in rules, parenting philosophies etc behind close doors and bring the same message and consistency to the kids. We still may fundamentally disagree on some things but we compromise and do our best. Just tossing out a different perspective in case that helps... I’m not sure how realistic it is in your situation, but I do know a few divorced couples who work together to set same rules for both households.
