I know about the law, enacted soon after several DAs said they wouldn’t prosecute women who seek out of state abortions. I’m sure that had nothing to do with it though. DAs everywhere have long had a lot of discretion on which cases to prosecute, not sure why that became a problem all of a sudden.

ok - well you failed to make the connection.

But I'm not contending your main point, just pointing out your problem is with the law, not the judge.

That’s pretty fucked up that a judge in Comal County can try to remove a democratically elected DA in a different county. What happened to small government/local control?

A state law was passed last year colloquially dubbed the "rogue prosecutor law" that allows residents to petition the court system to remove a DA if they, among other things, systematically refuse to prosecute classes of crimes.  The judge here simply heads up this judicial district and is carry out his responsibilities under the law.  You can read more about it here.

Imagine giving up 5 walks to a dude making his first start for a school with an RPI of 250. Oh wait, we don't have to. Fuck me sideways.

well, I think we beaned him twice.

Nonetheless, in all seriousness, congrats to @Caver60 for his kid playing college ball. My kids unfortunately inherited my athleticism, so will never have the chance to go 0-1 against UT.

That was a really strange feeling, being at a Texas game and not rooting for the ‘Horns.

The boy did his job. He went 0-1 with 2RBI. He was 3 of the HBP and 2 of the BB. I thought that Jalin got him at 2nd early on. Guess the replay wasn’t conclusive. He’s a patient batter and a tough kid. I could have done without the chest beating after one of the walks, but whatever. He was excited to help his team in his first start ever. He is fast, would probably be one of the fastest guys on Texas’ team too.

We ended up with his club coaches in the stands along with a lot of friends and family.

That has to do it for Pierce. So maybe in the strangest most backward way ever, he will help Texas after all?

    Good for you and him.

0-1, on base 5 times, with 2 RBIs is some 9U stat line shit.

  5. Hate that leave early rule. Should be that the runner is out that leaves early but the result of the play still stands. Ridiculous that they would call someone out and send everyone back to where they were.

I don’t mind the dead ball for the penalty because you could affect the play on a steal if it’s egregious enough (think hit and run effect on fielders). Reviewing it down to the millisecond on pure hits is stupid.
