  1. The leaking game... "Sounds Like Musk Is Just Mad That "they" Might Hurt Tesla" "One source literally told Axios that Musk is “butthurt.” For one, the “big, beautiful bill” slashes the electric vehicle tax credit, which helps automakers like Tesla. “As of late April, Tesla had poured at least $240,000 into lobbying efforts tied to the credit and other company interests,” Axios reports. Musk is also apparently pissed that the Federal Aviation Administration wouldn’t use his Starlink system for air traffic control, that Trump withdrew Musk’s nomination for NASA administrator, and that Musk wasn’t able to continue serving as a “special government employee” after the 130-day limit expired."

  3. To try to confuse the targeting system of drones. Apparently it can be effective depending on the tech of the drones. But not as effective as putting the planes in a hangar and closing the door.
  4. JFC, firebombing innocent people wasn't a medieval act. It's a unique form of violence. That doesn't make it medieval. Molotov cocktails came into existence in .. well you can look it up and maybe learn a little something. OTOH punishing a guilty person's family IS a medieval act, in that it was very common for the times.
  5. Update, the nomination for father of the year has been withdrawn.
  6. Today we're going to tackle the difficult topic of, "Is it possible to be a Zionist yet oppose how Israel has conducted the war?" Yes, it's possible. And popular. And that concludes today's lesson. Thank you for listening.
  7. From what I read they applied for asylum quickly upon arriving in the US as tourists while their tourist visa was still active. Arrived in August 2023, I think, and applied for asylum the following month. Obtaining asylum is currently a 5 year process due to insufficient processing so he was in limbo. What I actually wrote however is that snatching up the family to punish them seems like some medieval shit. That's not a legal judgment. It seems like retribution on the wrong parties, punishing the murderer by harming his family, and also closing the barn door after the horses have left. In other words, it seems like political bullshit that does nothing. For example it seems hypocritical/sketchy/fuckedup, to say the least, for the US to allow into the US 8 members of the family of El Chapo (3 weeks ago) and then snatch up someone else's little kids. Incidentally the US is required by law to offer asylum. I'm no immigration lawyer and neither are you. The difference is for some reason you're not holding back on offering your personal legal judgments when you have no idea what you're talking about.
  8. Hmm well if it is a law pertaining to asylum it should be very easy to find, esp in summary form. Go ahead and provide me a link, will ya? If you're not able, I will conclude it's not so straightforward after all. I'm waiting on pins and needs -- literally -- to find out. Though I do accept your admission that you're no lawyer. Yep they've destroyed their own credibility. I ignore 'em. Greenblatt is a piece of shit. If we could follow the money trail...

  10. For the record, they're not undocumented. They came here legally and then applied for asylum. All legal under our laws. Punishing the family seems like medieval shit. Attempts have been made to reform immigration laws over the years but always blocked by the fascists because the only competent thing they can do is try to blame someone else for their failures. (Well that and embezzle, and commit fraud.) They've had the past 6 months to look for him and people like him but focused instead kidnapping editorial authors, elementary kids with cancer were their primary concern, and making big shows at mexican restaurants to try to frighten everyone.
  11. Musk seems to be having a schizophrenic break. He literally paid people a million dollars to vote for his friends the fascists and now...
  12. I thought the show was definitely decent and basically enjoyable esp compared to what Apple has in any non-science fiction genre. IMO Jon Hamm was basically reprising Don Draper though not as depressed and angry. Nothing wrong with that I just kept think about "Don." I agree with what's already been pointed out about the sister becoming a tough watch and the annoyance when Oliva Munn became a narrator when she was supposed to be acting. There were also some annoying holes in the plot and a lot of contrived bs just to fill time. However much of the filming was outdoors in a gorgeous NY setting and that was a step-up from Apple's tendency toward dark CGI filming techniques.
  13. (an example of a politician using white supremacist language in recent history?) Gosh where to start...
  14. The problem is much larger than terrorism and that's perhaps where the discussion is taking a turn. Antisemitism is currently being used as a cudgel by people who either know better and dgaf, or are in a position where they SHOULD know better, to destroy lynchpins of our society and economy. I think it's wrong -- probably irresponsible -- to waive off differences or say there is no difference between anti-Zionism and antisemitism. There should be no confusion and to pretend otherwise is to either accede the domain or play into the hands of the truly evil in this country.
  15. I can't imagine how demented and repulsive someone has to be to write "lighting Jews on fucking fire", "assassination of Israeli(s)" and "messaging problem" in the same sentence. But here we are.
  16. To bring up the number and strength of the christian zionists in the US is no doubt treading CR. Maybe I'm not getting your point because I usually agree with you but I think you're painting with too broad a brush here. For example, I'd label current US gov't policy as pro-Zionist, but also explicitly antisemitic.
  17. My mistake. I think he's also confused between the two "antis." It's clear he targeted Jews. They were out there trying to bring awareness to the fact that there are still Jewish hostages being held by Hamas. Obviously that doesn't also automatically make them Zionists. I'm Jewish and the amount of time I spent before last year distinguishing in my own mind between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism is near zero. What I think is not in doubt is that the policies of the governments of Israel and the US are making life for Jewish people in the US, whether Zionist or not, more dangerous.
  18. I think they're still waiting for the capability to be able to use the Taurus missiles, which are the missiles with longer range. They may have possession of the missiles, or they may be in staging, but I've read the wait now is the aircraft have to be configured to use them.
  19. The defendant is now a nominee for father of the year.
  20. Anti-Zionism is not the same thing as Antisemitism. edit - and I'm not sure what Zionism has to do with the attack anyway. He was going after Jews, not Zionists. They've charged the suspect with a hate crime. I'm going to go ahead and assume that's a much more appropriate and winnable charge than terrorism.
  21. As if I'm going to watch a 8+ minute video on an accident from weeks ago I have no remaining interest in. lol. Look, either FSD works and you're going to live your dream of renting out your car as a taxi, or it doesn't. Multiple expert vids posted later conclusively state the latest version of FSD doesn't reliably work and makes mistakes very similar to that which occurred in the video you posted today. I think you're so far deep into Elon's shit, you can't see the forest.
  22. You didn't specify the brewing method but I was traveling with a group of friends a couple weeks ago and one of 'em was using a C3 hand grinder for an aeropress brew. But if you're doing a one-off, it's probably throwing away money. I'd just buy a cheapo thing off amazon.
  23. I can see I've given you more credit for being an intelligent person than you deserve. You "breathlessly" ran over here with a yt video that debuted online just yesterday claiming it conclusively disproves something posted here. But you ignored that it's totally inconclusive AND that an EV website -- one historically very pro-Tesla -- wrote an article about the crash you're trying too hard to disprove in which the journalist SPOKE WITH the driver of the automobile. You're completely full of shit.
  24. I've tried to give you the benefit of the doubt but...<jfc dude.>
