  1. I think I remember her first coming in as a member of Cobra Starship. Then she started "dating" Benji and became a contributer. Not sure if she did any writing for the show other than the stupid phony relationship argument bits with Benji.

csb/ At the 2006 Rose Bowl, we're in seats that aren't great but not horrible.  Most USC fans were acting arrogant but not crass.  Same for couple behind us.  We didn't really talk until the game get tense.  So we're shooting the shit during a timeout and he tells me he's (can't remember if it was orthopedist or osteopath) to USC athletics alums.  While the current athletes have their own caregivers, he runs a big practice in Brentwood and takes care of these guys for the free publicity so he can attract more wealthier patients.  So I'm half in the bag and just ask, "Well then, did you ever treat O.J.?"  Wife is mortified, since she's a health care provider and says something like, "You can't ask him to betray HIPAA laws!"  And he just blurts out, "I don't give a shit about violating HIPAA laws for murderers.  Yeah, he was a patient and talked too much."  Maybe he was just fucking with me, but he'd have no reason to until the last TD by VY.  I never really had an opinion on the OJ matter/trial until he said that (I was living abroad when this all went down in the mid-90's and had no idea until I came home).  But usually fanatics of a team or a person or a cult or a religion make excuses for the person they worship.  And this guy was obviously diehard Trojan, giving free care to older athletes with long-standing ailments they couldn't get elsewhere from a bygone era of jackshit health care.  And he could not have been more non-chalant about "Simpson?  Yeah, he was a patient.  And a murdered.  Fuck him."  /csb

I took a walk down memory lane and looked at some of my pics from the game. YGIFS, please tell me this was you:

It is kind of wild that there was a time when the news in the United States was so boring we thought OJ murdering his wife was something worth obsessing about for months.

If LeBron James knife-murdered his wife and another man who was banging her, then days later went on the run threatening suicide in a slow speed chase through the streets of LA with Kevin Love at the wheel - you don't think the subsequent year long televised murder trial would be a big deal?

One of the pluses to staying/fishing at Hackberry Lodge south of Lake Charles is the fresh shrimp they sell at the lodge.  I’m sure other lodges in Louisiana sell shrimp as well.  They said the shrimp were not from the large commercial shrimpers that stay offshore for a week or so at a time and flash freeze the shrimp, but from local bay shrimpers.  Either way, the shrimp are fantastic.  When I used to go offshore on chartered trips from Freeport a favorite thing was to trade a case or two of beer for a sack of shrimp from the offshore shrimpers.  Not sure if that shrimp was ever frozen but it was fantastic.  I agree with the OP-never buy farm raised shrimp.

Holly Beach Seafood on 27 also buys from locals. Excellent crabs in late summer, too:

If you know, you know.  This was terrifying as a young driver.

Also the 90 degree turn at the other end.

My first car was this 71 Ford Econoline van. Driving this bitch across the dam at 16 years old was hair-raising to say the least.
